She was rescued, if that is the correct term to describe it, when she was an infant from the wreckage of a downed freighter on the planet of Yavin by a mysterious male figure. This male figure began treating the infant like his own daughter from the first moment he saved her. Sensing the Force was strong in her, even as an infant, he decided he would begin to train her in the ways of the Dark Side. He named her Zaria.
When she was 7 years old, her training already under way, her Father revealed to her that he was an exiled Sith Lord, who now took up the mantle of Dark Jedi Master. He had been forced to leave his life behind due in part to his rivals ruining him by fabricating lies about his loyalties to the Sith and the Dark Lord. After fighting for his life, he chose to exile himself and fled Sith space. He revealed to her that what he had been teaching her was the Dark Side and after she fully embraced it, she began to learn and grow powerful from its mystic ways.
As she grew through the Force from her Father's dark teachings, he began to teach her the basics of the Force such as Telepathy, Telekinesis, Force Sense, and Art of Movement. Zaria began to practice these powers daily until near exhaustion. After the foundation of these powers had been infused into her, her Father then taught her Force Flash.
The time had finally come for her to construct her first lightsaber. Taking his ship, a rickety vessel at best, they scoured the planet and the surrounding planets for crystals and the components to create the legendary weapon of the Sith and Jedi Orders. When they finally obtained all they sought, they returned back to their hidden home to work on creating the weapon. Zaria, after watching and listening to her Father, created her first lightsaber after hours upon hours of painstaking work. With her lightsaber complete, her father taught her the basics of lightsaber combat then moved onto teaching her the lightsaber form Ataru. Since she adopted the exotic double-bladed lightsaber, her Father taught her the lightsaber techniques known as Trakata, the ability to use the Force to shut down her blade quickly without using the activation studs that would cause the blade to deactivate much slower, and Jar'kai, the ability to wield two sabers at once.
On her 19th birthday, her Father told her it was time to face him in combat, a fight to the death. If he killed her then she was never worthy of his time of his teachings. However, if she was able to strike down her Father, then she was worthy of all that he instructed her and she was free to forge her own paths in life. When they fought, it was with passion and skill, like two dancers in motion mirroring each other's moves. After what seemed like hours, the fight finally concluded with Zaria running her father through. She burned his body but kept his lightsaber as a reminder that even Teachers can die by the hand of their Students.
She left Yavin behind in pursuit of unraveling what the galaxy held for her.
