BIOGRAPHY:
Early Days on his home planet
Zarr Gallus was born an only child to Nicator Gallus and Cytania Gallus on the planet Taspir III in the Outer Rim Territories. The Gallus family clan had settled on Taspir III nearly 4 generations earlier and had become one of the more prominent families on the industrial planet. Their family origins harken back to the days of the imperial remnant on Bastion where their family predecessors had served as security administrators to the counsel of Moffs. The Gallus Clan, now settled on Taspir III, focused on the production of navigational and weapon systems for capital ships. They kept an open market in large to the Imperial remnant and the Sith Empire throughout the later conflicts. The family industry kept few actual loyalties and would provide their technology to any organization that was willing to pay enough to keep their names off the official records. Overtime ambition grew in Nicator Gallus and their corporation started producing small arms and weapon's systems to the high paying Sith Empire. It was that ambition that would start a downward spiral, not only for their family, but for the security of their entire star system.
Zarr Gallus grew up under the plutocratic rule of his father's heavy and unforgiving hand. His father viewed his son as a mere instrument to their family's wealth and overall prestige on the planet. His mother, a force sensitive, took a more hands on approach with raising her son. She wasn't what one would consider a standard "loving" mother figure, but she provided Zarr with a strong sense of discipline and justice. Cytania had a military background in the Imperial Navy and had received an early retirement. She saw her son's true potential and even possibly his connection with the force. Cytania took it upon herself to find an ex-imperial agent who agreed to train Zarr in use of weapons, hand-to-hand combat, starship piloting, and even swordsmanship. It was Cytania's hope that her son could join the planetary local defense force. Despite the rough exterior of his mother, Zarr respected and loved her, appreciating the time invested in his training. All the while his father's greed, cruelty, and ambition continued to grow. Zarr was battle hardened even before his first real war.
Defending his home
It was in one of the endless power struggles between the New Imperial Order (NIO) and the Sith Empire that their home planet was plunged into warfare. The Sith took a keen interest in taking direct control over all manufacturing and production of the planet. Amongst the breakdown of their already instable government on Taspir III a military commander, Verius Thrask, rose to fill the power void. He was an independence hardliner and promoted a propaganda machine to continue their fight against the Sith. The planetary ministers and Corporate Family Clans also saw the advantages of maintaining their independence and financial interests. The NIO however could offer no long-standing support to Taspir III in this conflict as they were being pressed on other fronts in the war as well. Verius Thrask quickly became the self-proclaimed Dictator of Taspir III and Commodore of the local planetary defense forces, both army and navy.
Zarr Gallus saw this as his opportunity to rise to the occasion and fulfil his destiny as a military officer. He knew it was his time to serve both the best interests of their planetary government and autonomy of his family's industry. He enlisted in Thrask's fleet, specifically in the starfighter core, and quickly rose through the ranks. He served on several successful campaigns and was eventually promoted to rank of squad commander of "Lion Squadron." It was in this role that his prowess as a fighter pilot and his role in personally saving the Commodore's life planet-side at one of his military installations, that Zarr became renowned in the local defense fleet. Zarr started to recognize his own force abilities at this time as well, something he always tried to ignore and keep secret from his superiors. Yet, because of an uncanny ability to fly and excellent skills in hand to hand combat, he came to be called the "Lion Knight" and was eventually assigned as one of the personal guards to Commodore Thrask. Commodore Thrask was known to be a merciless commander and would execute entire companies and squadrons if they failed their missions. Zarr was constantly under scrutiny and pressure to measure up to the Commodore's level of perfection. This however was sometimes impossible and lead him to be disciplined severely on various occasions when he didn't live up to Thrask's expectations. It was as if Zarr moved from one iron hand, that of his cruel father, to another under the tyrannical leadership of Thrask. Yet, that fiery persecution of his fanatical superiors tempered his personality like refined steel.
The in-system war with local Taspir Forces and the Sith Empire was a slow war of attrition. The NIO did what they could by sending reinforcements of star fighters and picket ships from time to time. But on the whole, the Taspir forces were left to defend themselves.
Justice, vengeance, betrayal
At the end of the war with the Sith the Taspir Defense Force (TDF) started to lose ground. After months of hit and fade strikes from Sith forces the TDF finally was broken when the Commodore's personal flagship, the Imperial Star Destroyer Legate, was destroyed. Without any clear leadership from their Dictator the TDF fell into disarray once again. The Sith capitalized on the confusion and moved on with their full scale invaion to take temporary control of all industrial operations on Taspir III. The Sith gave two clear cut options to the ruling clans on the planet, unite under the Sith banner and under their governor, or be executed. But Revon's father went a step farther. He bided a political favor with the Sith Commander and offered himself as the provisional governor of Taspir III. In exchange for what? He was to offer his own wife, a force sensitive ex-military officer, as a political prisoner to the Sith. In truth, the Sith were unimpressed with his meager "gift" but they did see the advantage of have a politically ambitious local governor that was willing to grovel at their feet. Nicator was their man. Zarr's mother, beaten and broken, was taken captive aboard the Sith destroyer and was never be seen again by her son.
Broken, beat, mourning the loss of his mother and feeling the sharp sting of betrayal of his own father, Zarr made a last ditch effort to liberate his family's holdings from the Sith. He was able to infiltrate the Gallus Clan installation and made it to the main control center where he found his father alone, waiting for him. A tense dark moment in Zarr's life came to a culmination at this very moment. He faced down his father, the treacherous Nicator, and screamed and pleaded with him to explain his actions. Zarr knew his son was on the brink of insanity and could easily kill him. Nicator pleaded for his own life, begging Zarr to spare him, offering him a position in his temporary government under the Sith rule. Torn between the knowledge of his betrayal, love of family and the last few memories he had of his mother, Zarr could bare it no longer. Zarr could only see treachery in his father’s eyes, and shadow of his mother's broken face. In that moment, Zarr drew his retractable vibroblade sword and cleanly executed his father, taking his head from his body. Hands trembling with panic, fear, and anger a Sith warrior had been watching the shadows of the control center. Stepping out into the light the Sith offered Zarr to take his fathers place as Governor of Taspir III and restore peace and order under the provision Sith rule. Zarr filled with rage once again, lashed out with the force. The Sith flew through the air from the force push, crushing him on bulkhead at the far end of the control center. He knew he couldn't afford to face off with another lightsaber armed Sith and feared he might be captured, so he retreated back to his shuttle and went to high orbit. He vowed never to step foot on that dreaded waste of a planet again.
Found by the Imperial Knights
Zarr fled the Taspir system in his personal shuttle and was heavily damaged from a firefight with Sith picket ships. Limping out system his IDF signature was eventually picked up by a patrolling destroyer under the control of Imperial Knight Commander Fayde. The New Imperial Order had been making raids on the Sith fleet near the Taspir boarders and had been successful in pushing the Sith off the front lines. Fayde reached out with the force to see if he could sense any lifeforms aboard the tattered shuttle. He was hit with waves of emotions flooding back at him, feelings of rage, anger, and vengeance flowing through the force like embers of dying fire. Fayde, realizing the force potential of whomever was still alive on that shuttle, reached out further with the force, pushing through that cloud of darkly shrouded emotions. He could also feel his sense of justice, love of family, and trust in the force. Fayde, certain that Zarr had great potential as a force soldier, took him aboard the destroyer. There, he was indoctrinated in the ways of the Imperial Knight, the New Imperial Order, and the force. Zarr once saw the force, along with those uncanny abilities that lie dormant within him, as the vestiges of archaic wars between religious fanatics like the Jedi and Sith. He once looked down on force users as the source of the problems in the galaxy and the reason for the loss of millions, if not billions of lives. Now under the guidance of Master Fayde he saw the force for what it really was, an ally, a tool to restore true peace and order in the galaxy.
Zarr served for a short period as Squire to Knight Command Fayde. After attending to his master and learning how to control his emotions and the force he was elevated to Errant Knight. After serving a brief time as Errant Knight Zarr's master and newfound friend, Master Fayde, died of a mysterious illness. It took his life within 3 weeks and there were whispers that it was revenge from an old Sith enemy that he had acquired during the Imperial Civil war many years ago. The source of Fayde's death was never truly discovered and was quickly dismissed as a mysterious genetic disorder. Zarr wasn't entirely convinced. Thus, starts Zarr Gallus, Knight Errant of the New Imperial Order, on a path of restoring peace and order to his corner of the galaxy, finding personal peace with the betrayal of his father, and hopefully one day locating his lost and stolen mother from the dark clutches of the twisted Sith Empire.
