- Comfortable.
- Extremely resistant to kinetic damage, highly tolerant to blaster fire and acts like a thermal regulator.
- Can be patterned and printed for fashion purposes.
- The outer layer can be made to emulate various types of textiles, although most commonly it looks like spandex. The inner layer is always made of soft material.
- Kinetic damage: The molecular structure of Zenith-mesh is something unique and impressive with different properties on each side of a piece of fabric: outer or inner. Whenever something moving at relatively high velocity impacts the outer layer of the mesh the molecules react absorbing the force. These absorbed energy is used in an immediate reaction which leads to the hardening of the superficial layer of molecules in proportion to the force of the impact received while the inner layers become cushioned and loose to protect whatever is on the other side, immensely reducing the damage taken from the impact. Punching the outer layer of Zenith-mesh is like punching a concrete wall, while the effect it creates on the inner layer is transforming it into a protective cushion. Its resistant to vibroblades and other cutting devices as well as ammunition for the same reason.
- Temperature Regulation: The inner layers of Zenith-mesh also act as temperature regulators, becoming warm when the environment around the outer layer is cold and fresh and breathable if the outer layers are exposed to heat.
- Resistant to Blaster Fire: It can also absorb and nullify blaster fire through a similar process to the one employed when reacting to kinetic damage.
- Halt: If Zenith-mesh is countering blaster fire, its kinetic damage dampening properties become disabled. The energy from blaster fire is evenly distributed through the mesh, unlike its reaction to kinetic-damage which is focused on the affected area. Because of this, it will not respond to kinetic damage for the whole structure must be involved in nullifying the energy from blaster bolts.
- Overwhelmed: Although high, there is a limit to its capabilities. Zenith-mesh is incredibly resilient, but its strong suit is kinetic damage and not energy damage. If exposed to blaster fire for prolonged periods of time the molecular structure may become overwhelmed and unable to resist damage.
- Wear and Tear: Its properties are 100% dependent on the integrity of its molecular structure. The mesh has an "expiration date". If properly taken care of and not abused very often, Zenith-mesh is good for wear for about two years. It may be useful after this date, but it becomes unreliable. The more the kinetic/energy countering abilities of the mesh are employed, the more its useful lifespan diminishes. If the mesh was cut or teared, its properties in the area around the tear would suffer greatly. Mending it is extremely complicated, if at all possible. If it receives damage getting new zenith-mesh is the more reliable choice.
- Lightsabers: Zenith-mesh may be able to deal with a graze from a lightsaber, but nothing more. It is not designed to withstand these weapons and a direct hit will cause damage.
In a planet riddled with mountains, giant trees and cities with skyscrapers higher than one can imagine, people falling to their deaths was an everyday occurrence. Zenith-mesh was designed as a way to try and lower the risk of death upon impact and protect Geminians from the low temperatures that came with high altitudes. After many years of research and failed attempts, Seros' laboratories finally managed to create the material they had envisioned for the longest of times.
Its ability to withstand blaster fire and cool the body when it got hot were unexpected but welcomed properties, and soon enough Zenith-mesh became one of the favored and most popular clothing materials among the Geminians: comfortable, fashionable and incredibly useful. It also found alternative uses such as packaging of delicate objects, bulletproof vests and more. Seros' is the sole producer and distributor of Zenith-mesh and the majority of it is sold off to PraeCorp, one of Seros' sister enterprises, and used to make bodygloves.
