"Ignorance is bliss, but it is no mercy. It is the bars to the cell that is our reality - a barrier that keeps us from observing the true nature of the lives we inhabit. Yet with knowledge we can disbar the cell, one rod at a time, slowly uncovering the truth until finally our minds step into the unknowable abyss that lies beyond comprehension. The divide between realities. The World Between Worlds."
OVERVIEW:
Zenovan "Zeno" Dremati [Zen-oh-vahn, "Zen-oh", Drem-ah-tee] was a Force Sensitive male Altiri-Human hybrid Raskava who lived during the discovery of the Infinity Gate on Dathomir into the Sith Schism and beyond. Little was known about Zeno's origins other than he was born to an archaeological professor and one of her students, both of whom disappeared shortly after Akala laid waste to the galaxy. Zeno's association with the Raskava was not publicly known, instead he was known by a series of credentials that identified him as a Xenoarcheology graduate of the University of Agamar - which was unverifiable thanks to extensive record destruction that befell the university during several decades of galactic instability prior.
Officially, Zeno lived a quiet life in an apartment on Kestro, the capital city of Vardos where he worked primarily as a Deputy Manager of Historical Preservation for the city government. This position required little in the way of physical presence, mostly consisting of day-to-day terminal work that can be completed remotely - thus allowing Zeno a great deal of freedom. He would use this freedom to work as a freelance contractor for off-world archaeological digs, a fact he would use to justify frequent off-world trips for his Raskava operations. These operations were typically conducted far from his official location but would sometimes be part of a larger clandestine operation that used the guise of funded archaeological research (generally using funding Zeno himself managed to secure) for the purposes of capturing desired knowledge.
When acting explicitly in his Raskava capacities, Zeno utilized the Holocron Eater Demon Mask provided to him upon his initiation into the cult. He would often use various pseudonyms during such operations, rarely using the same one twice. Generally speaking the knowledge obtained was expected to be retained in printed copy and turned over to the Raskava organization; however, Zeno began to question some of the ideologies his organization. He failed to see how simple inscription of useful information would be ultimately beneficial - especially when considering the Holocron Eater belief that the galaxy would be doomed to another disaster. Following this same chain of logic, Zeno prophesied that even when the next disaster did come to pass, there would inevitably be another after that and the information - even in the hands of The Eaters - would risk destruction with each catastrophe. He further predicted that this pattern of catastrophe would never end as long as life existed, which led him to delve deep into scientific and philosophical realms to try and resolve this problem. After years of study and thought he came to several conclusions of the nature of reality and life.
These conclusions led Zeno to diverge from traditional Raskavan thought and drove him to begin collecting his own personal library of knowledge separate from that of his Raskavan brethren. While he still operated within and for The Holocron Eaters he began invisioning the creation of a small, like-minded shadow society of Holocron Eaters that he could utilize to slowly shift the strategy of the organization from the inside. He called this blooming idea The Eye of The Monolith - considering himself it's first and only member.
APPEARANCE:
Anonymity is a strength all its own.
Zeno did not value high fashion nor did he abide gaudy apparel that brought unwanted attention to himself - yet he valued a standard of sophistication and urbanity that kept him from appearing as a social outcast. In this way Zeno preferred to neither blend into the shadows nor appear in the foreground, rather he wanted to meld into the blur of life. To become just another unassuming face in the passing crowds. Too poor to draw attention from high society and too well-to-do for making the company of the galaxy's more nefarious crowds.
He wore clothing that was simple in appearance, opting for lightweight materials that offered defense where it could. Grey was his preferred color of choice as he frequented urban environments and preferred the color as it is easily looked over in the duraconcrete jungles of most cities. Yet his clothing could not hide the deep sapphire oasis of his eyes nor his unique gradient skin that began as a dark purple near his back before gradually fading into blue and finally a pale human complexion at the front of his face, body and palms of his hands. Despite his sedimentary day job and focus on mind over matter, Zeno exercised frequently to keep his physical form in shape for the tasks required when stealing information - including combat.
PERSONALITY:
Zeno rejected the leading force-sensitive philosophies of both The Sith and The Jedi - finding both of them both to be dogmatic, despite his view that both held valuable knowledge. In fact he believed this about most philosophies outside his own and some of those held by his fellow Holocron Eaters. He did not believe in moral truths, objective 'sides' of The Force nor concepts of eternal punishment and reward, rather Zeno adhered to Existentialist and Metaphysical views of The Universe - including the belief that there is not inherent meaning or righteousness in life and that reality itself is a combination of objective and subjective truths. Zeno spent considerable time thinking on the nature of truth, reality and contemplating the various knowledge he obtained throughout his life. This made Zeno a very contradictory figure in that he both dismissed opposing theories while also claiming that their subjective take on the universe was a useful truth on its own merits.
His unique view on the universe and its truths made Zeno a true neutral party in dealings with others, rarely holding any personal drive to hostility against other groups unless they inhibited his goals in some way. While his goals did naturally put him into frequent and direct conflict with groups of people (i.e The Sith, Jedi, etc) he generally did not allow these conflicts to creep into his dealings with individuals from these groups. In fact he enjoyed interaction with those who did not share his views and found that learning of others subjective experiences was way of expanding his own knowledge, which was his driving goal in life.
Zeno saw reality as abstract and ultimately immaterial, believing that sentient beings only saw a fraction of the truths that exist within the universe at large. He believed that knowledge and the ability to recall it was the only barrier between sentient beings and the abstract, higher dimension truth that existed beyond what the galaxy understands as their reality. Thus, Zeno strived to not only obtain knowledge but increase the precision of his own mind - becoming obsessed with precision as a concept - and seeking to expand his organic mind's ability to perfectly store and recall information at will.
