- Sheath of the Grim Reaper - The Sheath of the Grim Reaper is a powerful cutting field emitted by the Sword of the Conservator. Any point of the Sheath when it’s active can cause dozens of small cuts just through proximity, though the primary purpose is that when one swings or stabs with the blade the Sheath on the edges or point - which has the cutting power of a lightsaber - the Sheath will cut the opponent and then the blade will, doubling potential damage. With training, one can learn to launch crescents, waves, or extend the sheath of the Grim Reaper up to 30 to 50 meters. The latter is like extending the physical blade itself, but it’s the cutting field.
- Vacuum Field - The Sheath can produce vacuum bubbles along areas it cuts. Sometimes these vacuum bubbles can be somewhat explosive, pushing around opponents, causing them to stumble and fall over. Most of the time however, these vacuum bubbles are designed to increase bleeding. They don’t last very long, but do extract a potentially worrisome amount of blood. This vacuum field can also be charged. At maximum charge, these vacuum fields can become powerful enough to topple vault doors by pushing or pulling them off their hinges.

- Cutting Power - The physical blade of Zhenniao can cut through just about anything a lightsaber can, but can only do so on the sharpened points.
- Neutral Kyber Crystal - Zhenniao has a neutral Kyber crystal within it. It will bond with any long-term wielder. However, sometimes the Kyber crystal may have its own interests, and will try to push wielders towards those. One primary interest is Zhenniao ending up back in the hands of the Conservator, and behind Zhenniao’s presence in the Force there is another, stronger one.
- Zhenniao: The Poison Feather Bird - Granting its wielders mystical capabilities with the sword, one becomes more flexible, more agile. Their body becomes powerful enough that a normal human can flip men through walls and onto spikes as part of acrobatic maneuvers, having enhanced reflexes, senses, the capacity to leap across rooms and traverse walls through his powerful legs (which are strong enough to damage skulls and break necks without much effort), and is able to make grand acrobatic maneuvers, all without breaking a sweat. A normal human will be able to lift 8 tons, making them capable of literally folding a man in half, or twisting arms over 360 degrees to break them. This means that the human possesses some of the same abilities as those in a popular style of holofilm. Named for the poison feather bird, the Sword is also capable of, with every cut, causing the opponent to become more sluggish and disoriented with enough cuts causing them to “become like stone”.

- Lightsaber Resistant
- Not a Lightsaber - Zhenniao is not a lightsaber. It does not have all the benefits of one. Its physical blade cannot cut omnidirectionally - only at sharpened points.
- Force Nullification - If Force nullification enters the arena, for example, Zhenniao will lose its Grim Reaper sheath, and the benefits it grants to NFU and Force Sensitives alike will be lost unless the Force nullification is defeated.
- The Weak Minded - The weak minded will become puppets of Zhenniao, and will be taken over by the blade. This includes those that are that way naturally, but also those who have found themselves weakened. Zhenniao’s mental control can extend to multiple people, and the longer one is exposed, the longer it’ll last. Eventually, the mental bond between Zhenniao and those under its control will become permanent - and it will take a complete “system reset” to restore control, which puts memories and emotional capacity/breadth at risk. The blade is predatory to everyone except the Conservator and their past and current charges. It does not currently possess the relationship with anyone that would lead it to avoid waiting for them to be weak enough for it to assume control.
“Once the blade of a mysterious and shadowy entity known as the Conservator, Zhenniao has spent 2,500 years carving a story across the stars as a blade as intelligent as any of the mortal species - and possessing in itself a capacity for greatness overshadowed only by the deeds of its creator - who did take us from our dying homeworld to new, great expanses. That is what the Conservator is known for.
Meanwhile, Zhenniao took down those that stood in the way of this goal - our enemies, that we feared so much. Whether they were Sith, or Jedi, or Hutt. There were none that the Conservator would not strike down in their attempts to insure we survived. Zhenniao was as an extension of them, majestic as a noble star gazing down upon the ocean’s of Manaan - its light burrowing into the depths of endless seas, a light we could see in the Conservator’s eyes. A light symbolizing the future, and all we were meant to be, and all we were to become.
We have buried this blade here in the hopes that it will find its way back to the Conservator. May whoever finds it have the mind to resist its power.”
