BIOGRAPHY
The Yuan family are esteemed scholars and aristocrats, Zhong no doubt was fed a silver spoon growing up. He had access to the finest education growing up and was on his way to becoming a civil servant like most of his parents. He received his education on Coruscant where he studied political science and went to get a masters in sociology. As part of his thesis on galactic social mobility, Zhong went to volunteer at a recreational facility in Corsucant's underground. The organization focused on low-rent boarding and recreational activities meant to help low-income residents who were on the brink of homelessness. Zhong had not actually been exposed to people a tax bracket below him so his eyes were opened to the amount of hardship people in the galaxy were facing. Because of his privileged background, he was exposed to comfort all his life. He was looking to be a junior minister in Atrisia's government but then had higher inspirations of serving the galaxy as a whole.
After he graduated, Zhong served many elected and appointed positions. He was a city council member and mayor before serving in welfare and urban development. He was lauded for his assertive regulation and welfare policies, ensuring people in his jurisdiction had access to basic needs like housing, food, medical care, and education. While many people in his family had served in appointed positions before, none of them ran for Galactic Senate.
As Atrisia was in the Galactic Alliance, Zhong threw himself in to the race. He was up against a lot of strong contenders. Zhong however was able to win, even if by a slim margin.
