PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
To say that Vatrymi is a hateful creature is to put it lightly. His xenophobia is as extreme as it gets to the point that he cannot stand Human Hybrids as he sees them as having polluted the human gene pool, despite the fact he may have some alien blood. The degenerates, apostates, and subhumans will no longer taint this Galaxy even if his methods would destroy it. His ideal Galaxy is not a paradise, but rather a constant cycle of purges until only the purest remain.
However, despite his abhorrent ideals, it can be hard to tell that this man was once a lowlife criminal who should have been executed for his hate crimes. He presents himself as a well-mannered figure with a wealth of tactical knowledge he has learned over his many decades of combat experience. This is merely a ruse of the savage within him so he can build up a rapport with his fellow compatriots for his true ideals.
Vatrymi claims to endorse a new way of life for the Empire: a frugal, harsh existence, to fit both body and mind to a life of battle where all luxury and family bonds are shunned. For anything but to live for war and service is degeneracy that needs to be purged from the Dark Empire. He envisions vast barrack cities and work camps for the Empire slaves to work themselves to death to manufacture their weapons of war. As an extreme misogynist - something the Galaxy and even the Empire has long evolved beyond - he believes that human women should be relegated to giving constantly birth to a new generation of warriors.
This is yet another ruse and point of hypocrisy for Vatrymi as he lives in a small palace where any luxury the Dark Empire can provide is at his beck and call.
HISTORY
Not much was known about Zody Vatrymi's early life but what is known is that he was born in 860 ABY on the planet of Rhand. At an extremely young age, Vatrymi was convicted for the brutal murder of a Chiss Child. He cited before the Sith Judge his reason for the murder as xenophobia and "cleansing the Galaxy of filth." Vatrymi was thrown into a forced labor camp and was expected to perish in the mines. However, the outbreak of the Sith Civil War spared his life as the Brotherhood of the Maw "liberated" the labor camp he had been imprisoned in. He immediately volunteered to serve in the Maw's ground forces and eventually formed his irregular militia composed of common criminals to assist in Mawite occupation efforts. He became a terror to the entire population and repeatedly pillaged the villages under Maw's control, extorting ransoms. His preferred method to crush partisans would be to destroy entire towns for every one of his men who was killed.
His unit became infamous among Maw for refusing to take non-humans as prisoners resulting in horrific xenophobia-fueled atrocities. Rounded-up prisoners would be also routinely used as human shields and marched over minefields.
However despite the terror his unit wrought, when faced with actual trained Sith combatants and not non-combatants they were often routed. Hearing stories of what his unit did to prisoners, soldiers opposing them refused to surrender and inflicted devastating casualties. Eventually, during the final hours of the Civil War, his unit was destroyed during a counter-offensive and Vatrymi was the only survivor. He fled into the wastes where he became haunted by the ghosts of those he had murdered. Sobbing he fell to his knees and begged for forgiveness. However, the moment the spirits of the slain hesitated before this pathetic man, Vatrymi took the opportunity to flee his final chance for atonement.
But he came from the wastes a changed man. He now saw his atrocities as wrong. Not because they were morally wrong, but because they were inefficient. So many resources were wasted for so little gain towards Galactic purity. He was just one man... he needed more resources.
He remained with the Maw as a demoted ground soldier until its collapse at Exegol yet he continued his service with its successor the Dark Empire. Using the chaos around the founding of the Dark Empire and his unnatural charisma, he founded yet another militia that would eventually be formally incorporated into the military structure.
Vatrymi would eventually be promoted to oversee the Empire's Purge Troopers, officially they were meant to assist in enforcing occupation efforts in recently taken Imperial territory yet records show that wherever they went the rate of extra-judicial killings and pillaging skyrocket. He additionally runs several Imperial re-education camps with death rates far, far above the norm with "sudden death syndrome" an all too common reason for the terrible conditions.
He does his duty with utmost pleasure and efficiency even if said duty causes harm to the Empire's long-term goals. Because in reality, he could give less of a damn for the cause itself, instead the Dark Empire is merely a vehicle for his human supremacist ideals as he cleanses the Galaxy of Alien filth. One day he hopes to rise high enough in Imperial ranks and gain enough influence to enact a purge against the alien inhabitants of the Empire in a single horrific xenocide the likes of which the Galaxy has never seen.
For God's sake, I don't endorse the ideals of this character at all. He was meant to be a hypocrite and an example of how vile humans can be. I wanted to mock him and everything he stood for, to take him into the Galaxy and prove at every turn how wrong he was. If he was real, he would have found me "subman."
