PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
STANDARD FEATURES
  • All standard features expected of a military grade starfighter.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Stealthy, Dangerous, and Just The Right Amount: The Black Eagle has significant stealth capabilities, armament, and can be deployed in a large enough squadron size that it cannot simply be ignored by other enemy strikecraft: one has to delegate a disproportionate amount of one's own conventional forces to hunt them down or ward them off or otherwise take significant casualties, perfect for a force going up against larger amount of enemies and needing to split them up to defeat them in detail.
  • VTOL/Hovering Capable.
WEAKNESSES
  • Expensive and Customized: Like its carrier mothership, it is expensive to produce and maintain, and thus can only be fielded in one small squadron specific to the Zephyr.
DESCRIPTION:

The ZSF-1 "Black Eagle" is an extensively customized, stealthy version of Voland Defense Industry's Strike Eagle fighter, developed in the wake of the slow collapse of the Elysium Empire and its XIII Battlegroup. It is found exclusively on the Zephyr, Aculia's personal mercenary ship. Like its mothership, the base model has been heavily customized and changed in order to account for its new role in smaller scale operations. It is essentially designed to be an irritating fly that is very difficult to completely swat, contesting the space which it is in to deny air dominance by launching devastating ambush attacks, cloaking, speeding away on a random trajectory or flight path, then reorganizing for another attack. This is to draw away a disproportionate amount of the enemy's attention and resources hunting for an enemy they can only ignore at their peril, allowing more breathing room for Aculia and the rest of her forces. If they kill a significant number of their opponents while doing so, that's just an added bonus. They can be used for light to medium ground strike missions well thanks to their laser cannons and missiles, offering flexibility depending on the situation, replacing in many aspects the old "War Hawk" ground attack fighter.
