ADVANCED SYSTEMS
3K40 Targeting System: Used generally on military bases, the software allowed multiple weapons to convert onto various targets or concentrate fire on a single target. This is to help supplement the 840.z Holo-Targeting Suite when ordered to converge all weapons on one enemy point. (x)
840.z Holo-Targeting Suite: In conjunction with the targeting computer, the 840.z Holo-Targeting Suite allowed improved accuracy for gunners on the ZuEric-class. This was a necessary upgrade as the targeting computer itself was strained from the large amount of weapons systems, the 840.z allowing it to balance out the strain. (x)
Twin Gravity Well Projectors: This is to prevent those who wish to run from the might of the Zweihander Unions forces from the fight. Plus it allows the capture of other smaller vessels when disabled so they do not pull a emergency hyperjump out of system. (x)
Hyperdrive Signal Interceptor: The Hyperdrive Signal Interceptor detects flucations in the local area though not of its destination nor the type of ship. This sensor is used for the purposes of intercepting or patrolling heavily guarded sections of space. Also used to prevent being ambushed via hyperspace, giving some notice for stations to be at the ready. (x)
STRENGTHS
- A Star Destroyer this Fast?!: It is made to be fast and quick to respond to most crisis that is going on around it.
- They Won't Get Away without my Approval: The ZuErics Gravity Well Generators are designed to hold in place any offending foe and either destroy or capture their starship.
- Exposed Rear: The rear has no defenses as the engines take up all the space. If not careful, it can be flanked by others much faster than itself or other small craft.
- Exposed Shield Towers: The shield towers had returned for this design as to the gravity well generators took to much room. Destroying them will effectively shut down the shield generator on the ZuEric.
- Shoot the Giant Disc Thingy!: That is where both gravity well generators are at in a rather comically exposed area. If destroyed, not only does it cripple the ship right in the middle but it would also allow other starships to escape.
The Zweihander Union requested a fast response Star Destroyer that would be able to respond to most situations quickly as well as some patrol duty. That task befell onto Haon Hafey whom merely scratched his chin. He thought he already had done that job though he decided to take it up a notch by making it a very good reason why this one in particular would exist. As the design unfolded before his crew, each one of them decided that a Gravity Well Projector would fit its needs in a hurry while also bumping up speed and maneuverability. For once, Manuvering Jets were not added as it would strain to much of the already strained reactor core. Instead, the shield generators were placed outside to give the necessary need to give reactor space along with gravity well generator space.
While the bridge was more well hidden and more defended this time around, the shield towers were not. In addition, the back end was pretty much exposed once again, a design flaw that has constantly annoyed Hafey to this day. However probably the biggest glaring weakness is the disc design in the middle of the ship. It held both gravity well generators as well as several key components towards the reactor core. Destroying it would effectively cripple the entire ZuEric in one blow! Regardless though, he did not expect it to be taken into high warfare stakes without some form of protection.
Regardless, the entire production went on schedule. Flak Guns were introduced for the first time in one of his designs, something he wanted to keep in them for a good long time. As the tests went on, it proved to be a rather solid star destroyer design, even though it was not as powerful as his previous designs would want to be. As time went on, he did notice some ways he could improve it but it was a limited run, it was not meant to last longer than possibly a decade or two before being put out of service most likely. Drinking a bit of wine, he did wonder however what adventures the ZuEric can tell...and what enemies it would capture.
