- Spinal Mount Long-Range Turbolasers: A pair of linked oversized Long Range Turbolasers were installed in place of the heavy mounts normally present on the CC-9840 class. They give the frigate an exceptional first-strike weapon, but have a very long recharge time.
- Brawler: The Die On Your Feet is exceptionally well armored, and reasonably maneuverable. It is an exceptional ship at getting in close and staying there, absorbing hits and moving around similarly sized or larger targets to wherever they are most vulnerable.
- Poor Escort: While the Die On Your Feet is very capable at defending itself against enemy strike craft, it is designed as a target, not an escort.
- Jury-Rigged Sword: The Spinal-mounted Long Range Turbolasers have tremendous reach and damage, but are extremely slow to charge, and basically useless at the sort of close in fighting the Die On Your Feet is best at.
Another of the haphazard handful of ships utilized by the Rebellion, the Die On Your Feet is the counterpart to the Spirit of Valor and like its somewhat larger cousin, is a heavily modified version of an older design, upgraded with care and diligence by skilled albeit resource-strapped Rebel engineers.
The focus of the modifications went into armor and shields, and the end result is an incredibly tough ship for its size. The reactor was likewise upgraded, and with that came an appropriate increase in thruster output. Unfortunately all this reactor and armoring came at a cost, and the frigate features only a small hanger.
Weaponry was focused on the two broadside wings of the ship, with each battery sporting four quad turbolaser turrets and three quad ion cannons, all modified with a focus on rate of fire. Up close, the Die On Your Feet can dish out a withering hail of energy, and due to the nature of the mounts it can also tip its nose down to fire all the turrets at the same target in the same manner as the classic KDY dagger-shaped design.
The mass-produced CC-9840 sports a pair of Heavy Turbolasers in the nose. Dissatisfied with the stopping power of these weapons, and with excess reactor power to spare, Rebel engineers instead installed a pair of Long Range Turbolasers and rigged them with extra capacitors and coil blocks. The resulting spinal mount weapons have excellent reach and great stopping power, but have a very lengthy recharge time. Additionally, they require moving the whole ship to aim, and are of limited use in a brawler-type engagement. Nevertheless they provide a terrific first strike, especially when used alongside the other long range weapons present on Rebellion warships.
If the Tidebringer is the hammer of the Liberation Army, the Die On Your Feet represents the anvil.
