Captain CT-56492 "Chief" - Imperial Stormtrooper Corps

Location: 5th Street Intersection of Cessea, Tython

Status: Survive

The second time the Empire rose to prominence, we were finally ready to be deployed. When we jumped into Tython, the simulations could have never prepared us for what was about to happen. We were always taught that the Jedi could be killed, but words don't do much when you see all that firepower you throw get tossed back at your brothers. Maybe it was the deadly new weapons, the blazing new ships, and the shiny new armour that saw us through it all.

"Sir! They're coming!"

"Get that fething barricade u- WATCH THOSE LIGHTSABERS!"

The screams of the damned filled the air as blaster bolts were slung all over the place, some stopping the swarm of hooded figures in their tracks and others being deflected by a surfeit of blue and green blades. Captain 'Chief', as they called him, had landed in the city ahead of the invasion with a company of stormtroopers from the 273rd Paladin Brigade under orders to recon the area and transmit the information back to high command.

They were ambushed on arrival, Jedi and mercenaries crawling out of the woodworks to kill his men or worse. His company had made it a few blocks before they were forced to make a last stand in some long-deserted intersection, utilizing speeders and other items to keep the enemy at bay for just a minute longer. Ninety-six stormtroopers had set down in Cessea, fresh and ready to serve the Imperial Confederation, and now only around sixteen remained alive and able to fight, much to Chief's anger. The Jedi were the cause for every bad thing that happened in this damned galaxy; those snivelling idiots slaughtered civilians, sacked cities, and killed his brothers with no provocation, then they had the gall to appear morally superior.

He watched in horror as a sky blue blade embedded itself in the chest of his lieutenant, his second, and then slowly retreated from the newly-created corpse and allowed it to crumble to the ground. Chief raised his pistol and shot a hole straight through the Jedi's head, racing over to the body of his fallen comrade and staring at his cracked helmet for a split second before grabbing the clone's blaster carbine and beginning to shoot at any of those bastards.

It was too late for them, they were being overrun on all sides, his remaining men dropping like flies to both the mercs that hid in the buildings taking shots at them and the Jedi that at least had the common decency to kill them upfront. Chief activated his communicator, preparing a transmission to be beamed to the fleet currently en route. "This is Captain CT-56492 of the 273rd, enemy presence confirmed Alpha-level at Cessea. I repeat the sector is crawling with hostil-" He grunted, a lightsaber grazing his forearm and causing him to wretch back in pain.

"Operation Knightfall is ready to proceed! Captain Chief signing out, for the Chancellor!" He managed, sending the transmission with a flick of his eyes. The energy pack on his carbine was depleted, prompting him to smash the barrel into the face of a Quarran Jedi attempting to finish him off. A purple blade appeared at the bottom of his vision, a piercing pain radiating in his abdomen as he looked down and found a saber had struck through him.

The blaster pistol fell from his hand when he fell down to his knees, his sight beginning to bluer, his spirit defiant in the imminent arrival of his death. He looked up at the features of his killer, the Jedi's face stoic but his eyes full of pain. He smiled beneath his helmet as he spoke for a final time.

"Six November One Alpha Delta Quebec"

An explosion rang out through the dilapidated streets of Cessea, and then silence.

Objectives:
  1. Operation Knightfall (Army/Stormtrooper Corp) - With the imminent arrival of an Imperial task force, the Army of Light has managed to hire several mercenary groups to further supplement their numbers in a futile attempt to withstand our assault. They are holed up inside a moderately-sized city named Cessea, a concrete jungle where they have the best chance of survival. Do what must be done, do not hesitate, show no mercy.
  2. Et Tu, Skywalker? (Commissariat/Stormtrooper Corp) - ISB agents have been tasked with infiltrating the Jedi Temple and assassinating several high-profile Jedi Knights and Jedi Masters that could prove troublesome, as well as recover several artefacts for future study. They have a deadly time limit, however.
  3. I Have Become Death (Navy/Starfighter) - Hired pirates have swarmed the orbital lanes of Tython and move to prevent our ships from breaking through. Grand Admiral Cardan and his Open Circle Fleet have busied themselves with the pirates, while Director Caalgen has a special task for those up to it: Protect the Silencer until the Jedi Temple is in range, then sit back and watch the fireworks.
  4. Bring Your Own Objective

Rounds whizzed above Lynda's helmeted head which sat just beneath the precipice of a Durasteel barricade baring the Core Imperial Confederation's roundel proudly on its' face. The "Army of Light" as they'd called themselves decided to make the modest Army firebase within Cessea city a target. Their initial attack has been blunted by Reservists of all things from the Coruscanti Guard. "Where in the nine hells are the Stormtroopers!?" Malys screamed over the Cacophony of explosions and tree splinters being send wildly through the air in a violent display of explosions caused by chemical high explosive artillery shells crashing into the park which surrounded their little bastion of Coruscant smack right in the center of the nature reserve.

"What!?" The Battalion's Major one "Dyke" screamed back at Lynda despite the fact she was pressed right up against him the two of them had been discussing the imminent arrival of Stormtroopers to the Firebase along its' fortification wall until that pleasant conversation and subtle flirting had been interrupted by an unpleasant chorus of artillery assault cannons and the whomp of Blasters. Realising the futility of attempting to verbally communicate Lynda blink-clicked the com-channel's hololithic rune. "Don't worry about it, get back to the Headquarters Dyke. Get ready to run I'll cover you." He complied crawling along his belly to where the angle of the five and some feet tall wall became such he was just out of the enemy's sight. Lynda glanced towards him. "On my Mark."

There were a few other soldiers visibly shaken and cowering around Lynda looking to the pauldron-wearing Officer for direction, and then she gave them an order they all wish had escaped their ears. "Covering Fire!" Lynda cried and all four of the defiant white and red armoured soldiers shot up from out of their cover and send a hail of precise automatic fire towards an advancing horde. Finally, the Firebase's two automated turrets began functioning and joined the rain of azure blue blaster bolts sent against the zealots who swept towards their firebase like an oncoming wave. The tell-tale Lime and Sky Blue blades of Jedi stood out like incandescent sticks in a pitch black night amongst those ranks of howling madmen, some of whom appeared to have explosives strapped to their torsos and driving detonators towards the sky in some kind of insane revelry.

Everything just got weirder by the minute, the Trooper on Lynda's right took a blaster bolt straight through his krennic pattern helmet's temple and collapsed in a silent heap on the ground. The Former Death Trooper avenged her subordinate and almost immediately murdered the sniper in his high perch not three seconds later, everything was going very poorly. And even as the Platoon of Imperial Soldiers cut down more than two dozen mercenaries, their base of fire and advance didn't relent. Captain Malys knew that unless that Regiment of Stormtroopers who were supposed to be coming arrived soon, the Coruscanti Guardsmen protecting Firebase Aurek were going to end up dead or captured by homicidal zealots.....Not a comforting thought in the slightest.

The Jedi Temple appeared almost serene, even despite the cold temperature of the mountain base camp Seto still looked over head outside of the Camp's edges. Else where on the planet a battle rages, but here for the Commissar the air seemed to freeze even peace and quiet in place. Frozen, devoid of warmth or of energy, a perfect description of the Jedi threat here on Tython, while he held no true hatred for these cultists, their fate had been sealed by their own hands.

As yes, our mission.

It wasn’t that prodigious of an idea, and Seto ewondered the state of mind he had been in to even agree with the mission. Let alone to even consider such a plan. Admittedly the young Du Couteau heir couldn’t escape the gnawing sense of excitement, considering the importance of the mission he could over look certain troubling aspects of said mission.

He had assumed that maybe his self preservation side of his mind had been tampered or silenced but despite his own reservations of the mission, there wasn’t fear of failure. No, he had a different kind of fear, and that kind Seto promised he would address afterwards.

The planning side of the actual operation was done with precision and disciplined Seto had come to know the Stormtrooper Corps for over these past years of his life. They were going to be there ride and reinforcements once the third phase of the mission was underway, and especially when the narrow window of opportunity they had in total to complete the mission of its entirety.

- Confirm Jedi Leaders, once captured and brought to them.

- Prioritize Targets and Send Signal to commence the step.

- Await their Stormtrooper Reinforcements to offer distraction.

- Eliminate Targets, Collect Artifacts already listed in their mission briefings.

Seto struggled slightly with his clothing, as the body suit he wore beneath made his tailored clothing complain tremendously to him. The plan had been after all that he would approach the Temple, and the informants within had already assured that the Jedi were planning on capturing Seto when he would arrive. Not the most elaborate trap in the galaxy, but simplicity held a certain beauty, not something that Seto would usually agree with (Since nothing in his closest suggested anything close to simplicity) but for the moment Seto would act the part of an overconfident Noble.

What a tiring stereotype.

While not the greatest method of infiltrating the Temple, they needed to distract and attract all the Jedi Leader’s attention. Say what you will about Jedi, but they know how to hide when they feel their lives threatened. Seto mused, but that was the key part, that when the Jedi felt threatened and Seto approaching the Temple in guise to talk and deliberate with them, well it would provide the perfect disguise for the Commissariat’s trap.

“You know Marr, you could always just come in with the rest of the Troopers instead of coming with me to, well, get captured by Jedi.” Seto suggested to his sister, while he would not have anyone else watching his back than her. Sometimes Seto mused that perhaps it would be better if he went in without his back being watched.

Seto offered Marr a concerned look, that of a brother that knows the future of what they as siblings were about to do, “-Not because I want to keep you out of harm's way. . .” Galaxy knows how futile those efforts were. “-But because we may need to keep some of the Jedi alive, long enough to tell us about some of the Artifacts that need to be confirmed still exist.”

It was the lull before the storm.

Her senses were flowing, a gentle stream that trailed over every living being within the vicinity of the base camp. The firm determination and keen focus of the men and women in the midst of their final preparations were comforting to her.

Rules and protocols.

Restrictions and standard operating procedures.

It was familiar.

All is well, the Force whispered to her core, a calm hum that resonated through her whole being.

Marriskcal was quiet as she watched the clouds drift past the caesious vista of the mountains before her. Standing here on the edge of the boundaries, the young woman was reminded of home. While it still hurt to think of the Order of Ren and her once Lord and Master, the distance and clarity has made it easier to bear the memories that continued to haunt her steps. But even with the truth laid bare to her, it did not stop her heart from aching and missing her life from before.

She exhaled, her breath escaping her lips in a puff of white mist.

Her azure eyes flickered to the side to give her brother a narrowed glance when the other made another endeavour to reason with her. “And what if the plan goes awry and you find yourself needing immediate backup? We both know well enough by now that a great many things can happen within the timeframe of one minute,” she refuted his words calmly.

The blonde sighed softly as she turned to regard Seto as he continued to speak, the air filling with the light chime of her hairsticks as she tilted her head to look up at the taller male. “I may hold a slight scorn towards those sanctimonious vermin, but I can control myself well enough when the need arises,” she assured her brother with a small nod. Oh, Marriskcal may loathe Jedi, but she was also able to veil her disgust well.

You worry too much, Seto~

But she did not blame the other for his misgivings, for she seldom wore a mask around those she adored. No, all her lies and deceits were reserved for those she did not care about.

We were told we were ready for the fight that would be Tython. That we were prepared for whatever the Jedi would throw at us.

Were we ready?

Could you ever truly be ready to watch your brothers die at the hands of the Jedi?

I wasn’t and I know the rest of weren’t either.

Objective: #1 Nightfall

“Two minutes.” The call came through his helmet as the Clone Commander looked down at the shattered and smoking city that had become the Jedi Resistance’s main holdout in their efforts to undermine the planets wishes to join the core confederation and Imperial rule. The masses of mercenaries at their employ had made it difficult to get reinforcements were they were needed on time, but small strategic victories had allowed a brief window for command to send in several battalions with minimal resistance.

Minimal resistance.

The air was still thick with laser and anti-air fire, CC-15715 watching as one of the gunships was hit and erupted into a fireball, ending the short lives of a full squad of his brothers in a heartbeat. A painful realisation that for a clone life was not meant to be meaningful, no it was a quick bleep on an era of Imperialisation meant to fight until they die and be replaced by another. It was just how it is, it is how it will always be.

“Prepare for landing.” The gunships began to descend into the city, buildings zooming passed in blurs of grey mixed with laser lances and explosions. Blasters were checked and prepared, all ready for the moment that the ground met the base of the gunship and what came with it.

“When we hit the ground we head straight for the firebase.” Spear directed as he checked his own weapon. “Ensure that any resistance is put in the dirt.” As if perfectly timed the dull thud of the gunships sounded across the area around the firebase as the 212nd regiment was deployed in a flurry of dirt and dust. They were out as fast as they had landed and the gunships already back in the sky.

The dust clouds became clouds of red and green lights as blasters unleaded their payload into the rebels currently keeping the firebase and the Imperials within pinned down. A shot fired out and CC-15715 saw the clone closest to him fall to the ground, another nearby joined soon after, but the mercenaries would fall faster.

Moving fast across the ground the commander moved fast to the existing Imperial position now surrounded by clone reinforcements.

“You called for reinforcements?” He barked through several rounds of blaster fire.

CORUSCANT

“I have need of your specialties and you are actively searching for potential secrets that may indeed lay on that planet.” The voice of Aram Kalast was a measured one, calm and collected yet imposing just the same. Especially here, in his own comforts. “Yet I need you to be fully aware that our alliance is not formally accepted by the Confederation and even if you have the Sith Empire’s backing I cannot hold our men responsible for any mistreatment of friendship.”
Opposite the cool blue eyed Imperial stood a darker form, robed in layers of black cloth and wearing a helmet of worn metal. His height, towering over the desk that Aram assured was well kept between them would have caused fear among many others seemed to have no effect upon the once Supreme Commander of the First Order. The man who had survived death many times.
“So why not send your Inquisition? Surely they would be well suited for the job.” His voice echoed in his helmet, said in words that were not his voice. “Why me?”
“The Inquisition will indeed be cleansing the Jedi Temple, however there is a more suited target deep within the complex that has prior history to our…” Aram paused and shifted his cufflinks, “…past.”
“Our past is dead.” There was venom in his words. “I killed it.”
“No you haven’t” Aram smirked. “I know everything there is to know about you still Ren. Even the parts you try so desperately to hide from the galaxy now that our glorious Supreme Leader has shown his true colours and fled the galaxy to lick his hurt pride.”
“That name means nothing to me.” His fist clenched closed. “Nothing.”
“Yet you still wear it like a trophy.” Aram leant forward and stared deeply at the Ren. “He really did break you didn’t he. No one else would notice, nobody else knew the connection do they…” He rolled his tongue across the inside of his lips. “Belis.”
There was a moments pause, the Ren lost for words against someone he knew there could be no victory over.
“It is an unfortunate wound that I am removing from myself.” His voice was calmer now, after all, the man before him was the same who inspired a rogue element to form into one of the largest powers known to the galaxy. Someone he once considered a friend. A foolish mistake of character that had been. “Hence why I am here. Is it not?”
Aram smiled. That devilish smile that usually meant death would follow for someone, somewhere. “It is.” He presented a hand to his left, a small hovering droid came to a stop nearby. “This is B0-T, take it with you. It will brief you as you head to Tython and also provide you with a direct and encrypted communication with me if you should need.” The droid moved to hover behind the Ren. “Now go. We will be in touch.”
“As you say. Kalast.” He pumped his hand against his chest, mocking the old salute the forces of the First Order would have done to the then Supreme Leader, then turned and left the room with the droid in tow.
“Good to be working with you again. Ren.”
The door sealed closed.

It was only once that Unit 0666 had witnessed a master of the Force in battle. It had been during a recent raid on Bespin when she saw what she could only presume to be a Sith, bearing a strikingly crimson blade and a dark cloak which concealed their features from view. Although her sighting of such a powerful avatar of war had left a distinct impression upon her memory, it had been ephemeral and mysterious in nature. The individual had disappeared as quickly as they had arrived onto the battlefield, leaving 0666 momentarily terrified at the prospect of their return manifesting in her being impaled upon a burning crimson blade before she could even detect its wielder’s shadowy presence.

At that moment, two towering masters of the Force stood only a few meters from where she was standing. It was all 0666 could do to not gawk at them like a little girl witnessing an argument between two adults. Even so, the short-statured stormtrooper couldn’t help but to steal a few glimpses at their tall and slender forms as she prepared her gear for the assault. Only a few moments before, her commanding officer had ordered her to notify the two commissars of the beginning of the operation. The small and ultra-specialized platoon of stormtroopers would initially be acting as overwatch while the two commissars approached the Jedi Temple to confirm the presence of their targets. Then, once the trap was set, they would storm the temple and directly engage the Jedi as both a core component of the mission and a distraction so that the commissars along with a small contingent of stormtroopers could infiltrate the temple in order to retrieve vaguely important ‘reconnaissance information’. 0666 had been left in the dark regarding the details of that information, but nevertheless, she was determined to fulfill her duties in service to the Imperial Confederation without hesitation or relent.

With a deep breath, 0666 approached the two commissars from the rear, knowing that they could sense her presence and intentions before she even thought to broadcast them. Having not yet donned her helmet, she felt even more vulnerable to their sharp, predator-like senses without a durasteel-plated mask to conceal her porcelain features.

“Sir and ma’am,” 0666 began as she waited for them to register her presence. “My commanding officer wanted me to relay to you that we are all set to begin. He’s organized a small contingent of engineers and escorts to assist with the information collection. In the meantime, we’ll be waiting for your signal close by.” 0666 spoke, letting the tension escape from her chest as she placed both hands on the sides of her helmet. “Are there any more considerations we should be aware of before the operation commences?”

Seto brought his full attention on his sister, she spoke truthfully and confident with her ability and the expectations that no plan could go without problems. Marr's narrowed look towards him and her next words only further solidified her position and convinced Seto to otherwise let Marr do what she believes to correct and trust her with her decisions. It was a sudden realization that perhaps Seto was acting a slight overprotective.

But only a smidgen.

I think I see where my maids were coming from, Seto nodded with agreement with Marr "-I worry for the both us, after all you look very lovely." Seto though had to admit that over the fleeting months he had grown much wary when it came to dangerous missions such what he was assigned presently.

Though I'm no better with promises either.

Silly thing to even think about, the young Du Couteau smiled his usual demeanor returned, despite the cold air Seto felt the warmth within him from the growing anticipation and excitement. Seto paused momentarily, his mind shifting to another bright flame that approached the siblings and made question for them to answer if they needed anything else before commencing. Ah yes.

Seto held out his lightsabers, through the Force, and gently kept them in place in front of their stormtrooper companion. He took a few steps closer over to the woman, his own smile delighted with the fact he wouldn't be attempting to escape the Temple with only his sister. Not that Marr wouldn't enjoy such a mission.

"If you wouldn't mind keeping hold of these until you arrived at the Temple," Seto explained, he knew that once captured the Jedi would confiscate his weapons. "-I would have given them to someone else, but apparently someone is equally as worried of my well-being as I am of her clothing." Seto added, his words directed towards Marr as he presented his best charming smile.

The ground vehicles were slowly readying for their mission, and Seto eyed the growing movement around the base camp. Time to begin our mission. Seto returned his blue eyes back over to the Stormtrooper, she herself possessed a rather unique set purple eyes that Seto took a moment to pause and admire.

"What's your name trooper?" Seto asked, whenever the battle would commenced he would need to know who to call out for to receive his blades back. "-Normally I would give my family name but for the sake of urgency and time saving, you may call me Seto."

The blonde gave her brother a look of fond sufferance, patting him on the arm gently. “Well, we will just have to deem this as a challenge then,” she reassured him a mischievous lilt to her words. “At least I am wearing black and red. The stains are quite easily concealed~” While the ‘unlike yours’ remained unsaid, it was clearly implied by the flicker of her eyes over his form and the smirk she gave him

Echoing Seto, Marriskcal turned to regard the stormtrooper, her previously smug little smile softening into something more amiable. While she has worked with many stormtroopers back in the First Order, this was the first time she had encountered one with her petite stature and such vivid eyes of fuchsia. As someone who has yet to fully grasp society’s norms and their unspoken guidelines, the blonde stared intently at the young woman before her for a moment longer than what is considered polite.

She only turned her gaze away from the other when her brother’s twin lightsabers soared past her to pause in the air in front of the doll-like stormtrooper. Blinking as she remembered she would also have to leave her own, Marriskcal wrinkled her nose. This was truly the most unpleasant part of their upcoming operation, she thought to herself, going in without any of their weapons. “Someone has to,” she mumbled quietly. Especially when the plan involved her brother walking into the Jedi’s embrace.

It was with some reluctance that the blonde removed her own slim belt holding both her lightsaber and throwing knives, holding it out for the petite woman to take as well. While it was not like she was unable to fight without weapons, she always felt a little safer when she had them by her side. “And you may call me Marr~” she said kindly, nodding down towards the items in her hand. “If you find yourself in need, feel free to utilise mine.

0666 immediately went slack jawed as the towering commissar held his lightsabers by some invisible force of nature. She hesitated for a moment as she donned her helmet in order to free her hands, before reaching out to take the lightsabers from Seto and Marr. For a brief moment, her armored hands hovered near Seto’s two lightsabers before grabbing them, her eyes examining the details of each one with a muted sense of curiosity. With a deep breath, 0666 clipped the pair of unfathomably potent weapons onto her utility belt. Then, she took Marr’s lightsaber and her flexible rack of throwing knives, which were undoubtedly more potent in the hands of a master of the Force.

“I wouldn’t dare touch your weapons.” 0666 spoke in response to Marr. ”But...rest assured, I will them with my life, sir and ma’am.” 0666 added softly. “My identification number is ST-00/0666, but you may call me Beast.” 0666 said as she locked the throwing knives and the lightsaber on her magnetic weapon strips. Both of 0666’s ‘names’ were telltale signs that she was an artificially created soldier. In spite of her diminutive height, the female stormtrooper standing before the two commissars was an individual who knew little else but war. Having beenbred for loyalty and a chilling capacity for violence, her demeanor was overly submissive, yet markedly calm and collected, especially for woman who was preparing to charge willfully into certain danger.

“Is there anything else needed before the initiation of the mission?” 0666 finished, her durasteel-concealed eyes looking deeply into both of the commissar’s fair and blue-eyed features as she spoke.

Lynda's muddy green eyes crane up towards the sky and instead of finding Caamas' moon is greeted with the orange-stripe streaked armour of a Stormtrooper. Eyes blinked on his Identify-Friend-Foe tag displayed against holographic display case from a number of shimmering blue diodes within Lynda's helmet. "About time you turned up, sir." 'Sir' the word was carried on the air with subtle animosity that Lynda possesses for Clones although it was largely washed away by a fleeting appreciation, looking past it for only just a moment realising that the cloned man's troops might have just saved her soldiers' lives and even as much as she disdained the Officer's kind she appreciated it none the less even if the taste of such a thing was bitter upon Captain Malys' tongue.

Rising up to her feet and firing a few shots towards the Army of Light's positions down the boulevard perfectly controlling her G-11F's snappy recoil with just a single-hand grip. "Captain Malys, Coruscanti Guard Regiment." She took a few sharp breaths with red blaster bolts visibly smacking against barricade protecting Lynda's body, even though the Captain had once been a Death Trooper unlike those Generation One Troopers a fair of death was omnipresent as it was in most mammals. A tell-tale whistle echoed through the distance steadily increasing in pitch, that was all she needed to make a split-second decision as the hairs of nape erected themselves. Instinctively, Lynda mag-locked their Blaster rifle against thigh plate and seized spear's breastplate tucking her powerful fingers between breastplate and torso.

"Mortars, in cover!" Hilariously, Lynda pulled Spear behind the barricade only to use his armoured worthless clone body as cover but had the courtesy to atleast pull him behind the barricade wall with an overpowering unnaturally strong coercive strength applied with precision and speed that nobody lucid or rational could reasonably believe was simply natural even as a geyser of fire and shrapnel was thrown up towards the sky from where his feet had previously stood. "I guess now we're even." Lynda slides out from beneath him abruptly, and briefly watches for a storm of sixty to eighty-millimetre mortar shells send large chunks of bitumen and concrete hurtling through the air. Slamming into the several Troopers bypassing their Katarn's deflector shields the heavy weighty chunks were causing casualties among the Imperial Troops. "We've got to get some heat on those Mortars, we have some Speeder Bikes in the firebase motor pool." Lynda leaps from the wall into the Firebase beginning a jog towards a nearby prefabricated building. "Come on!" She beckoned the Clone, not bothering to glance back. "They're this way."

In war a lot can happen in the space of a few moments, Spear and his clones had been taught this many times in the simulations, they had even witnessed it in person during other elements of their training, however now; right now they were experiencing it first hand. Another explosion of blaster bolts nearby caused a movement of the clones, several moving to take cover behind rubble and barricade.

The trooper closest to Spear introduced herself and instantly was allocated as the Clone Commander’s contact point in his head. She made mention of her regiment, the Coruscanti guard and Spear tilted his head in acknowledgment.

“You’re a long way from home.” Clone’s were allowed humour, surely?

A bolt flew passed his head, causing his eye-receptors to flash as they fought the glare. It was enough to make him go to move to ground, even though he soon didn’t have a choice. The soldier grabbing him and pulling him down as the mortar explosions started to wail around them.

His earpiece was filled with shouts and screams from his unit, scattered and now well battered they had all began to fall back into a proper defence position as more shells continued their deadly descent. A mention of speeders was made, the indication of a movement against the enemy mortors.

“Zeros and Twelve, with me.” He pointed at two troopers that were close by him, there numbers flashing on his vision to allow identification among the nearly identical armour patterns. “Bear.” A Clone, who had seemingly hit the weights more then the rest of them turned to face him. “You have command, we’ll silence those mortars.”

The speeders were standard issue, a bit beaten and worn but serviceable. Spear was quick to mount one and start the repulser before hitting the throttle hard and heading off in the direction of the apparent mortar strikes.

Seto's eyes danced over to his sister, her mumbled words brought upon phantom chuckle that nearly escaped his throat but Seto managed to refrain and refocus so only that his lips turned into a rather bemused smile. Though this distracted Seto, as he hadn't bore witness to ST-00/0666's own shock of being responsible for a Commissar's weapons. Which, probably would had been for the better as Marr no doubt would attest that Seto rarely allowed such reactions to go unforgotten.

The wind continued to grow with increasing speed, a tell-tell sign of nature that the storm would soon come and for the Imperial Confederates, they would bring the storm and so much more upon to their enemies. "-Alas, my only last need would be that you ST-00/0666 stay alive." Seto responded, while he always welcomed the sentiment of protecting things with one's own life, it rather proved difficult to retain trustworthy allies if they don't survive after battles or conflicts.

Ah, time has grown thin it appears. Seto peered at his watch and quickly gestured for Marr to follow, while they must abandon the safety of their base camp and their other companions, the mission only presented a small window of opportunity to accomplish. They were told that no matter what may happen inside the Temple, if they do not leave the zone dictated to them by High Command in the allotted time, none held responsibility to what may happen to them afterwards.

Not the most subtle way of explaining a timed bombardment or whatever the sort they plan to do on the Temple. Seto silently mused with a rather exasperated look of tiredness. Even the vehicle requisitioned for them by the local police was nothing too pleasing to look or ride, but Seto knew he had to sacrifice many luxuries to accomplish this particular mission.  Let's get on with it.  He approached the repulsar vehicle and extended the door entrance for his sister before entering himself in afterwards.

"Let's go on and pretend that we aren't expecting to get captured," Seto spoke, his mocking tone of enthusiasm. "-and that we are not here to completely wipe them off the planet." His voice slowly changed to one of a special genuine he had mastered among his other noble peers. Never let it be said I don't at least try to entertain the thought that admissible emotions were possible.

seto_2.png

Seto eyed the Temple, even as his vessel landed and the door opened, the idea of the Temple brought along thoughts of other Noble families and their large castles and homes. Regardless how pious anyone claims to be, Seto knew better than assume any hearts weren't corrupted by greed. So much easier to admit your desires than publicly denounce them.

The young Du Couteau heir was hardly a saint, nor should the word's definition soften to allow him opportunity to claim such title, instead he figured better remove the thought of untouchable and sanctimonious Jedi from the people of Tython's mind. Slowly he stopped out of the vehicle and nodded once towards Marr as he walked forward, his welcoming smile on full display, his charm and expressive nature with his hands.

The Jedi believed themselves connected and truly on the road of enlightenment with the Force, but life was a Sabacc game and nobody could tear their eyes and thoughts from the mountain of credits made available in the center of the table. Position? Power? Order or Peace? Doesn't matter what they believed I might bring to the table, only that the deck was stacked against them and they would only realize their error too late.

Several Knights quickly approached the pair, their weapons readily available to them as they gripped them tightly with their hands. The echoes of war on the other-side of the planet no doubt brought upon a degree of paranoia. One, whom Seto dubbed the leader of the security group approached him, armored and stern the man's Force presence indicated this Captain of the guard powerful in his own respect. The emotion of certainty.

"I believe your leaders were expecting us? We shouldn't tarry and keep any waiting for our presence." Seto explained, the other Knights all approached closer, surrounding and primed to defend the Temple at the moment's notice.

OrsdJWD.png

Lynda was followed behind by two of her own soldiers making their party a total of six Core Imperial Troopers clad in their distinct signature Mark IX Katarn Battle Armour. The odd stray blaster bolt visibly slammed into the rear of the Captain's cuirass as she sprinted towards the motor pool constructed from wavy corrugated Durasteel sheets that formed walls and a trussed ceiling. "We have to silence those damned Guns. This could get hairy." Lynda's thickly accented voice pushes itself through their shared comlink channel but additionally is broadcast through her annunciator proudly, she leapt like a Panther atop the Z-74 Speeder Bike's seat pressing thighs tightly against its' durasteel-constructed frame. "Computer, mark those mortar positions based on their trajectory." The Katarn Mark IX's onboard Computer began performing a precise calculation using the sensor data gathered from the red and blue shifting of the projectiles through the air to calculate the approximate distance of the launch sites from Captain Malys' current position along with the point of origin marked within a five-hundred meter radius for margin of error, easily tight enough for Lynda and Spear to locate the crews firing upon Firebase Aurek in short order.

Three beige and crimson-striped Z-74 Speeder bikes emerged from Aurek's motor pool with the distinct whining pitch of Repulsors sailing above the Earth a scant couple of feet zooming through Aurek's open boom gate into the scenes straight out of Pandora's box around the bastion of Imperial Power and Civility within Cessea City's foresty Kuligo Nature Reserve. Ferrocrete and Durasteel spires with visible roads were interspersed through what otherwise would have been a harmonious lush forest, following the carpet of asphalt on her Z-74 Speeder Bike, Lynda was an easy target for the repeating blaster nests and snipers who fired without relent upon the advancing Coruscant Guards and their Clone comrades speeding towards what was undoubtedly a battery of field mortars. Though she was yet unaware being singularly focused on avoiding the wall of Blaster Bolts thrown back against them, the other two Coruscanti Guardsmen had long since been killed murdered by the very assault Lynda's augmentations and reaction time had kindly saved the foolishly arrogant Captain from sharing a similar fate to their subordinates.

It was an impressive display of hand-eye coordination even as Lynda's shields visibly sparked and flickered totally drained. Peering over right-shoulder to find her pair of escorts conspicuously vacant she contacted Spear who had followed closely. Even as much as she didn't want to admit it Lynda was impressed by his soldierly tenacity and refusal to die like her own soldiers. "We need to get off this damn road. Follow me!" Captain Malys declared with her densely accented feminine voice, which struck many Fett Clones as some foreign strange thing although Spear like a born and bred warrior did not at least outwardly show it distract him from solemn sworn duty to fight and die for the Core Imperial Confederation. Not long before Lyn pulls off the blaster-magnet of a road into the scrub a Jedi leaps out from behind a thick oak in a physics-defying somersault and slices the Captain's Speeder Bike in two just fore of the handlebars sending it and its' rider hurtling across the forest floor at three hundred kilometres per hour with a violence that no Human could have hoped to survive; Limbs twisting and flailing wildly with Lynda making a brief frightened shrillish wail.

She arched a fine brow at the older male, but due to the expediency of their impending operation, Marriskcal allowed her observations to fall to the wayside, this time.

Beast…” she started, following after her brother’s own reply, the appellation leaving her lips with a hint of hesitation for the person who stood before the siblings in the bone white armour of a stormtrooper looked more like a beauty to her eyes. Being new to the Imperial Confederation and barely even starting on the process of joining the Commissariat, the blonde was not briefed on the synthetic origins of the young woman standing before her.

I offered because I truly do not mind if you use it when you find yourself in trouble. And while I appreciate the solemn vow and the obvious care you are taking, your life is more important. At the end of the day, a lightsaber is just a tool, after all~

Just like I used to be.

At the wave from Seto, the blonde gave the doll-like being before her a final reassuring smile. “Good hunting, Beast. Take care, and we will see you a little later.

Marriskcal took a few swift steps to catch up to her brother’s side, her mood buoyant despite the dangers that they were about to face. With her own close experience on the world of Skor II, the blonde found herself blasé at the prospect of yet another orbital bombardment. After all, this time they were not playing a complicated game of tooka and clawmouse. It was an eradication, and everyone that were not recognisable as allies were to be disposed of.

Simple~

She sidled into the older model of the speeder without nary a complaint. It was a little worn, but seemed perfectly serviceable, and so long as something worked well enough for their purposes, the blonde deemed it acceptable. “Considering that they are even allowing us to set foot into their precious Temple, they are probably going to try and ransom us… for something or other,” she shrugged delicately, her own poise and mien shifting to one that was suitably idealistic for the encounter ahead.

Marriskcal doubted that even the Jedi were deluded enough to think that the Confederation cared enough about the lives of a few to cease hostilities at Cessea.

zPVhQSy.png

As always, her brother noticed that which Marriskcal did not. With her own ascetic upbringing and the subsequent luxuries that she sometimes experienced during her assignments, the young woman merely brushed the allusions of the immense structure that loomed before them to the back of her mind as she stepped out of the vessel behind Seto.

With her true thoughts safely concealed behind a veil and aura suppressed until it was merely the amount of a talented initiate, the blonde followed her brother into the sanctum of the deluded. The sounds of her stilettos were loud as its heels struck against the polished floor, a vacuous smile in place as the Jedi began to surround them. With her hands clasped before her and head held high, Marriskcal allowed her brother to lead the conversation.

Their suspicions were clearly written on their features, but after a swift exchange of unsubtle glances and most likely a telepathic discussion amongst the knights, the Captain stepped forward as a representative. His countenance were stern and cold, and his stance tense, as if he wanted nothing more than to expel them from the building. But even with all the signs of his clear reluctance, he addressed Seto evenly, “They are already waiting for you in the Council Chamber. We’ll be your escorts for the duration of your visit.

The Jedi Captain's eyes were narrowed as he took a sharp inhale, as he came to a decision. “We’ll be watching your every move, so I’d be careful of what I’d say or do if I were the both of you.

Truly a most unpleasant creature.

Behind her placid veneer, Marriskcal wondered if a lightsaber to the neck would be too swift a death for one as impolite as the Captain.

Follow us.

Without another further glance at either of the siblings, the Captain took lead, his pace brisk and large as though he wanted to be done with the unpleasant task he found himself stuck with. The rest of the knights surrounded both of them, the unlit hilts of their lightsabers still held firmly between their grasp as they began to make their way towards their destination.

Heading Towards Tython

Objective: #2 Et Tu, Skywalker

The shuttle continued its path towards the glowing jewel that was Tython. A planet that had forever been steeped in the history of the Force, both in peace and war. The Jedi held Tython as a precious asset, one that was forever theirs to own and keep captive from the rest of the galaxy, wars had been fought for this ideal and many had died to protect or take it.

Many more would die today.

“Your target is located within a smaller Jedi Temple structure to the south-east of the main complex on our last information drop. At a location known as the Thousand Steps.” The droid began to give his briefing to the dark robed warrior that was sat in the pilots seat, yet held no control over the Imperial shuttle that carried them. He had experienced these steps before, more of a hill that had once held intricate stone statues and steps leading to a ruin of a once magnificent tower. The ruin had been turned into a small meditation temple in the days of the last Republic, the golden orb still sitting there to this day, hidden away from the waring factions hellbent on the main temple structures. He had walked this path before, back before Sieger, before the fall.

“I know of it.” He said simply, allowing the droid to continue.

“You’re target is a Jedi Master, one who has evaded capture several times since we began the database during the Sith occupation of Coruscant.” The droid twisted a projector, before emitting a glowing blue image of a female Jedi with human appearance. “Master Farifax.”

“I know her.” A memory of a past life perhaps? Something was painfully familiar about this jedi, from the pink stained hair to the way she stood. “Why this Jedi?”

“As stated she has evaded capture continuously to a point that Director Kalast has decided her death would be more warranted then her capture. She also happens to hold high level information that has been deemed of high importance to you.”

“For me?” There was some level of increased curiosity, yet time would tell if this droid’s promises were as good as they sounded. “We shall see.”

“Yes we shall, I look forward to seeing the connections that have been promised by Director Kalast.” The projection turned off and the droid shifted to more comfortable place attached to a socket in the ships ceiling. “The method of which you deal with Master Farifax has beenleft to be determined by your own wishes, however I have been allowed to suggest several means that would see higher success percentages then others, would you wish to hear them?”

“No.” The planet in front of him was growing larger now, nearly filling all he could see apart from the streaks of a moving starship here and there as the Imperial’s tightened the noose.

“Oh. Okay.” The droid sounded disappointed. “Do you wish to review the briefing again?”

“No.” Again he had taken to ensuring he was prepared for the surface, checking his kit and allowing his mind to flow with the force.

“Then I shall begin landing procedures.”

The clearing that he had been released into was quiet and unaffected so far by the war waging elsewhere. The birds that had gone quiet as his ship landed had began to sing again and the sound of nature had started to flow once more. The electronic drone of the hovering droid came to settle by his shoulder, servos whirring as it looked around the clearing.

“Yes I believe that this is the start of the ‘thousand steps’.”

He didn't need the droid to confirm this. He could feel it, many had walked this path throughout history. Including him once, a long time ago in a life long dead.

Lin'yao Escala

Objective: #4; Catching up with his brother

Location: Star Destroyer, Orbit, Tython

Interacting With: Kou'ha Escala

__________ __________ __________ __________

One of Lin'yao's hands reached upwards to his collar, straightening his uncreased and unwrinkled red tie as he walked to his brother's quarters. The red tie contrasted with the silky black fabric of his suit jacket, complementing his olive skin tone and jet black air, creating the impression of him being a royal dignitary or a diplomat of some sort, of some fashion. The expectation was to dress smart, to dress as if you commanded gravitas even if you never did command such a thing. It elevated people's opinions of yourself. An individual in a suit would be more widely respected and acknowledged than a person in torn clothing, it wasn't anything purposely mean nor hurtful. It was all about appearance and how one would present themselves to others and to the general public eye. Present yourself as a fool, like a joker, and you would be treated as such, as a court jester, a fool. Present yourself as someone important, like a businessman, and you would be treated as such, someone with a brain. Yao had been taught such things from his father, Har'xa Escala, as he had grown up under his father's wing. Dress with authority and people will treat you as though you have authority. It was a simple truth in the power play of political scheming and the representation of oneself. Lin had to be careful how he presented himself, though his father was the head of house Escala, Lin himself was the public 'face' of the house because he was the heir, he was the one everyone looked to.

Lin'yao gave a curt nod to the two clonetroopers who stood on either side of his brother's room. Pulling an identification badge from his suit pocket, the heir presented such a holo-identification badge to the two soldiers who then presently scanned it and then allowed him by. He tucked the badge back into his suit pocket and brought up his dominant hand, his right hand, to a ninety-degree angle as to knock on the metal door in front of him. And yet, he hesitated. He hadn't seen his brother in a few years and he was afraid of what type of response he would get from such a family member who, as of late, was acting disrespectful to all his kin. There was no telling how he would react to seeing his older and more favored brother, Lin'yao, there.

And then, Lin knocked on the metal door of his brother's quarters...

Spear had been conditioned to be the best soldier he could be, with strength and reflexes that would put the average human to shame, however as he followed this woman he found his own senses strained and tested. It left a strong sense of unfamiliarity and a instant respect for the woman’s skills that went beyond his usual trust in his brothers. Even in the face of unwavering fire she persisted, at full belt to get to the target. It was a tenacity he would have expected from his own, who were expendable and created for that very purpose but for a human who held a full life and did this through choice and not design? He smirked beneath his helmet.

A shower of sparks ignited the air in front of him, a green blur signalling a Jedi attack as Lynda’s speeder was cut and sent spiralling away in an uncontrollable direction. While Spear knew the mission was what mattered there was something that compelled him to react as he rushed passed the scene like a lightening bolt.

“Arggghh.” He fought his need to continue, instead slowing and raising the other clones on the comm. “Go and get those guns. I’ll go get the girl.” He swung the speeder bike around hard and accelerated reaching the scene of the crash as quickly as he could, dismounting in a fluid motion as the speeder came to a stop. His rifle was raised, disconnecting from the magnetic thigh panel as he hit the floor instantly firing off round against the Jedi that had began to advance on the area that the soldier had crashed.

Several rounds were returned towards the Commander, dissipating off his shield while the rest either hit the ground or the air around him. The Jedi closed ground fast and Spear took steps in other directions to keep the distance between them. Each step was answered by another flurry of blaster bolts, at one point the lightsaber of his opponent nearly cleaned his head off, but the clone had ducked out of instinct and managed to avoid death for now.

Another swing saw the lightsaber come at his chest, the clone moved forward rather then backwards hitting his shoulder hard into the Jedi’s elbow which caused his defence to drop for a moment, the Clone using the time to tackle the Jedi to the ground. There was a frantic moment where the lightsaber and the Clone’s rifle both lay on the ground abandoned as the pair frantically engaged with each other with fists and pure strength. The Jedi went to throw his palm, to throw the clone with his unnatural powers but he was unprepared for the elbow to his face that left a broken nose. Spear had been trained to fight Jedi, he knew their dirty tricks and how to ensure they couldn’t concentrate on them but he also knew that he would have to end this quick or he was going to die and not this Jedi. So end it he did, with the sound of ripping flesh the Jedi found himself on the receiving end of a retractable blade that emerged from the clone’s wrist.

Breathing heavily the Clone stood and retrieved his blaster and the Jedi’s lightsaber for good measure, Imperial command was always happy to receive items like that for the war-effort and then, with a now evident slight limp headed off through the trees towards where Lynda had fallen.

Kou’ha Escala stood, his spine straight as a blade and the lines of his shoulders tense as stared out of the viewport, his eyes following the skirmish that was unfolding before his dark eyes.

The silence of his assigned room was oppressive and cold, as its lone inhabitant observed vessels of various makes and classes disappeared in plumes of conflagration. Behind him, projected into the empty space between an utilitarian bed and an equally plain desk, the same starships blinked red several times before fading away into nothingness.

Once again, the youngest scion of House Escala wondered to himself as the views of the pirates, and if the recompense they received from the lords, ladies, and Jedi of Tython was worth them sacrificing their lives. Or perhaps, he thought uncharitably, they thought the newly founded Imperial Confederation was still weak and has yet to grown into their fangs and claws.

Not for the first time since the young man had found himself back with his family, he wished to stand back on the command deck of a star destroyer. But he also knew that it was something that would not be granted to him until his father was certain of his loyalties. His eyes were narrowed as familiar tendrils of bitterness began to swell within him.

But before he lost himself in the simmering embers of his anger, a muted knock echoed through the space of his domicile. Blinking in confusion, for no one would have a reason to visit him other than his father, and he doubted that the Fleet Admiral would deign to visit him when he was busy overseeing the conflict playing out in the orbit.

Come in. The door is unlocked.

Objective: #4; Reflecting on Life

Location: Apartment, Coruscant

Interacting with: Self

__________ __________ __________ __________

"Okay, now sign here, here, and here, Mr. Alaric."

Varian's glacier blue eyes glanced upwards to the landowner who was 'selling' him this apartment and then his eyes drifted back down towards the holo-pad paper. Grabbing the cool metal stylus in his bare hand, he brought it over the holo-pad and began to fill in information. Most of it was relatively easy and straightforward, it was easy stuff, simple stuff, things that a man who had a more rural-esque university experience and overall learning experience would be able to fill in without much trouble. Some parts confused the young man, though he tried his best to fill in as many categories as possible. The former Knight of Ren wasn't sure why he was buying an apartment, though he personally felt as though it was a good day. It didn't take him long to finish filling in most of the necessary categories. And, much to Alaric's surprise, the landowner actually helped to explain some parts which he wasn't sure about.

It was something small, though Varian took great joy and gratitude in such a thing. It was nice to know that at least one person cared, that at least one person could smile.

After finishing the paper, the two individuals parted, leaving the former First Order operative within the apartment, alone. He finally had somewhere to call 'home,' he finally had some semblance of himself and of a new life. And yet, he didn't know what to do now. He had been within the First Order for so long that he had forgotten the intricacies of urban living and all of the complexities that came along with it. He needed to do something, he couldn't just sit alone in his apartment. The landowner has told Varian about a nearby local market which was good to go to for all types of things, food, medicine, clothing, and all other commodities.

Standing up from the chair, he made his way to the door and reached towards it, his hand shaking. At any moment he could be attacked, and all he had on his person was a simple concealed handgun. The First Order would still come after him, wouldn't it? Even though it was now dead, the creeping of paranoia kept at him. And yet, his fingers reached for the bronze door handle and pulled it open, walking through the door.
