Wheel of Fortune

1/25

It was time for the Silver Sanctum Coalition to strengthen their borders and incorporate further neutral territories into their domain.

Thus, four systems had been chosen, each with a series of different objectives and challenges. By doing this they would be able to broaden the Coalition’s influence across the sector.

The Wheel

The Wheel was a giant space station of ancient design, run as a Freeport in the modern era. A place of danger and opportunity, the Wheel allows you to find anything your heart could desire, for a price.

Currently the former Republic Chancellor Popo has a strong influence here, and a delegation to negotiate reasonable terms would be a wise course of action.

(Diplomacy, business focus. PVE vs gangs and criminals possible in the lower levels)

Bal’demnic

The hot tropical world of Bal’demnic was a world of considerable interest due to its natural resources. Key to this were rich veins of cortosis which had not been properly tapped in the years up until the present.

The climate and bloodthirsty insects make this planet something of an acquired taste for sure. The local Kon’me are isolationist, but not excessively hostile. Negotiations with them might well prove fruitful.

(Diplomacy with PVE vs the environment and aggressive natives. Also mining for those with commercial interests.)

New Holstace

A relatively unimportant world, its one notable feature is a monument to the Jedi, specifically, all the Jedi killed in action from ancient times until the present. It would make a good centre for a Jedi Academy or training ground. Alternatively it could be useful as a training mission for Padawans.

(Jedi stuff, PVE vs raiders or Sith. Constructing Jedi outpost possible.)

Centares

A reasonably well established world of about a billion inhabitants, Centares sits in a strategic location. In response to news of pirates or Sith remnants, a battlegroup under the command of Commodore Manfred Keller has been sent to secure the system and destroy any threats.

(Fleeting against sabrina, Starfighter piloting. Please PM me if you want to be involved, will gladly give you a ship.)

“We’re coming up on reversion, sir.”

“Understood. Send orders to assume formation on reversion. Scan for enemy craft.”

Commodore Keller, placed in command of this expedition, was an experienced officer who had served in the Republic before moving to the Coalition. He was reckoned something of an up and coming leader, and a close associate of Admiral Gould.

As the Coalition ships came out of hyperspace they assumed a standard formation for moving on the enemy.

At the rear was the flagship Valiant, a carrier whose role was not to get involved in the direct fighting, but provided support with its large arrays of fighters.

In the vanguard were the Defender and Preserver, the cruisers leading the main formation. To the left and right were the frigates Watchman and Righteous. They would protect the cruisers from being outflanked and add their fire to any attackers.

Between the cruisers and a little back was the flak frigate Justice. Its role was to provide flak support for the cruisers.

Finally, on the far left and right flanks were the corvettes Pioneer and Adventure. Their role was to scan the flanks and front to ensure the battlegroup was not caught by surprise.

As Centares came into scans, they increased their searches for any opposition waiting for them.

Construction

Rasu Gan Sorel Crieff Shmi Labooda Jericho Connor Harrison

This was a large endeavor, compared to the movements to other worlds the Silver sanctum was stretching itself and showing really how it could reach and grasp with all of the major things it had worked on and set up. The jedi research teams that they were working on. Thanks to some of the things though like the information they had for construction of Exis Temple station. She could work on things here as a special surprise was being worked on, she needed some of the jedi there while the designed were being shown and across the surface in the cradles the seeder factory ships could work on the different things. Providing construction efforts and shields to the area. They had a number of other things there to work with while she turned her attention over more of the stuff there. "Master Shmi, I do hope you can find some of the things here. The memory moths are something sacred for the jedi almost and we want to honor them with the real treat of this." She looked over a part of the things clasping her hands behind her back. "We have a medical ship and colonization stations inbound. We''ll be able to link up everything needed."

Hospital Reconstruction

There were other things on the world then just a monument. A hospital they had been able to work with as she was bringing in for the others to work on. The medical stations and the medical ships could provide resupplies while the factory ship was constructing what they needed sending it down before she stood there in the body armor. All of the attention was going towards larger sections of the planet they could land and start heavily unloading the Saratai's cargo of supplies. Seeder ships that had been mapping out locations, relay stations giving a clear view of the world and sectors here for the astrometrics labs. She could see the holoprojector showing more of the equipment they had being unloaded as the massive feats of construction were well... made for being grand of scale."Continue the reconstruction efforts and have the stations once they are online begin processes. I want this world to be prestine for the others when they arrive. The new hospital and temples from Sakura, new crystal chamber with the synthetic cubes."

Finding herself going over her plans being in charge of all medical for the SSC having brought two of her team along with having others to follow after the task that was given him. Finding herself unable to do much of anything else then to look at each of the group leaders. Speaking with each of them before letting the meeting end. Leader you have your task on each of the places, but our main set up this time is on the station itself, this will be one of our relay station for those needing more advance medical attention.

Even then she look at Kixi and Ronin why would he be here yes her daughter would soon to follow knowing that she had her physical therpy to be done. She had came a long ways from the battle she took place. Knowing why she was doing to make sure her father knew that she would be his little warrior. After which she knew her ever growing team and how much advance her medical was getting.

The Silver Sanctum Coalition had mobilised to the west in order to provide added security not only to the western boarders of Sanctum protected space, but to those worlds that grow every closer to those boards of the One Sith.  They are not sitting idol, they never do, nor do the Silver Jedi.  Inch by inch to the opposing groups with their opposing philosophies grown near to each other and the day will come with they will meet head on.

The governments of the systems in The Wheel, had contacted the leadership of the Sanctum to speak about aiding this build of security, they are equally concerned by the encroaching movements of the Sith and time was drawn to a close. The Sanctum, had organised many objectives in this sector, sending Jedi to all parts of it to oversee any needs the peoples required.

Coci had organised a meeting with the Kon'me and had asked Master Shmi Labooda to join her if she had the time.  Master Labooda is exceptionally busy of later so Coci would leave her attendance to her discretion.  If she is to arrive, they would find time to sit and discuss the document which she, Coci and Thurion had been drafting. Bal'demnic might provide them with a great opportunity in which to complete this.

She stands on the bridge of the Oathkeeper, looking through the viewport over the beautiful planet of Bal'demnic. White sandy beaches line small pockets of islands, lush and green with life, it is a clear day, and Coci believed that this planet probably did not see much by way of clouds, at least not today.  But her bare feet will walking on a planet unknown to her, and so anything could happen, it would not be our fair galaxy if it did not.

As their ship cut through the atmosphere of Bal'demnic, Thurion had Teetoo take the controls as he stepped towards his wife as she watched the world grow ever bigger. His arms wrapped themselved around her waist from behind, pulling her close as he placed a kiss upon her neck before resting his bearded chin on her shoulder. It felt good to get back in the saddle properly alongside his beloved Coci. If nothing else it took his mind off the recent loss of his father, as well as having to worry about their son's whereabouts after he left Sanctum space some time ago. He suspected Coci was even more affected by Théo's leaving.

"Almost as beautiful as you," he whispered past her ear. "He will be fine, Coci. He grows stronger every day, whether he realises it or no, and he's smart enough to stay out of trouble." Well, at least one could only hope he was - he did have both his own and Coci's blood in him, after all, and he sure seemed hellbent on getting into trouble as a kid. "What do you think he's doing right now?" he turned his head to look upon her face before pressing his lips to her cheek. Perhaps he was more worried than he let on, come to think of it.

The task would be a daunting and challenging one. Kixi along with her Master Carrick and another Jedi by the name of Ronin had arrived on an orbiting space station over a relatively unimportant world. The station would, once fully set up and functional, serve as an advanced medical centre for those that needed special attention that only Jedi healers could give. Kixi looked around her. There wasn't much in the place at all at the present time. Clearly they had their work cut out for them. Supplies and equipment would soon be arriving at least. That way they could at least begin setting up the place and also be ready to actually begin treating those who were in need.

"Master Carrick, now perhaps would be a good time to discuss the exact plans for this place. Since we can't really do much at the moment, planning ahead would be a good use of our time right now".

She could not help but smile as she felt the tickle of his beard on her skin. "You always say such wonderful things to me", she whispered back before resting her head on the side of  his.  Yet, he voiced her very thoughts, Theo. "He would love it here, he would find the best surf beach on the planet", she allowed herself a giggle. But equally, as her husbands, there is concern in her heart.  Naturally so, it would be unnatural for parents not to worry at the best of times, but Theo being so young still and out in the galaxy they had tried so hard to protect him from, so many nights had passed without sleep. Had they done the right thing by him? to be protected so? but what were they suppose to do other then that, what had come to pass no amount of protection or good management prepared even them for. The death of Thrand had hit them all hard and made even she question herself for purpose in life.

"I don't know, but I hope he is alright", as she uttered the words, Coci concentrated on her son, his presence within the galaxy she called out to through the force.  She stood still within Thurion's arms drawing on his power and strength and love to find their son. "He is distant .. so far away even I can't pinpoint him, but he is alright", she said as if in a trance.

Her attention went to some of the things on the display while working over the different parts. "Redouble unloading efforts and manufacturing of construction supplies. We have the shipments from Hok for the stone. Lets carve it up and use it." There were some looks from the others though while she was working with the Sakura workers bringing up more of the hardlight. "Dark Lady, we have reports from the medical station we brought and the food stations. They are set up and ready with Ginyu droids for what we need. We'll be able to have our stocks up and in once we need it while the droids continue to work on many of the things down here." Cathbodua tapped the holoscreen showing the suttles and transports they had while the skyfalls were able to work exchanging supplies down to the jedi monument. The construction efforts they had there were massive in scale and idea of what they could do. She laughed to herself just a little though seeing what they had plan wise and construction while the factory was building up production.

Construction on New Holstice

The sights of the memory moths floating around while she held up her hand. Extending her index finger out to get a nice little feeling from the strange creature before she let some of the attention on the things. It gave her a nice look towards the monument they were intending to repair up. She was hoping to continue working with Shmi Labooda and get some of her attention on what they could do. This was a place out of the way and not many knew about or visited, the other things they were working on before she moved to the side. Letting the droids continue to work on their larger sections and on the metal sections. The stone they had gotten as well as the other materials allowed for a couple other nice things like the construction of the temple's megablocks.

Sabine ships had been on raiding missions, she need more slaves to help fund and rebuild a city on serenno, coincidently built by slaves in the first place. So she been raiding this sector for while now, and using Centares as a base. As getting back home was not to hard from this point, as the few hyperplanes lead back to Mandalorian territory and then to Serenno. She also used other stuff she got to help fund the rebuilding the city.

As she her fleet was getting ready for another raid, the captain of the ship she was on gave her quick message.

Silver Sanctum Coalition Fleet in bound M'Lady, your orders?

Her ships where new in design, and also untested at this moment in time.

Though the Silvers and Mandalorians where allies, she knew they not recognise her fleet.

Also give it few months they be on open market, so she would have deniability.

Though attacking your people friend without warning, could be considered rude.

She decide to use a cover story, as after all Mandalorians are mercs and it would then be there choice to attack, or not.

Hail them, but keep the holo cams off, voice only understood.

Also launch fighters and take up a defensive position, with the planet between us and them.

She did this so any stray shots from them, could possibly hit the planet and might make them think twice about long range sniping.

The hail was sent as the defensive formation, was taken up.

Post 1:

Forty-seven standard years before the harrowing reign of Emperor Palpatine, Bal'demnic was nothing more than an embryonic world in the Outer Rim's Auril sector, populated by reptilian sentients who expressed as little tolerance for outsiders as they did for one another.

Decades later the planet would have a part to play in galactic events, its own wink of historical notoriety, but in those formative years that presaged the Republic's ineluctable slide into decadence and turmoil, Bal'demnic was of interest only to xenobiologists and cartographers. It might even have escaped the notice of Darth Plagueis, for whom remote worlds held a special allure, had his Master, Tenebrous, not discovered something special about the planet.

A cave, to be precise, that was cross-hatched by scores of enormous crystals that resembled glowing lances thrust every which way into a trick chest by a stage magician. A seismic event had tipped the landmass, emptying the labyrinthine cave system of mineral-rich waters.

It revealed a rich vein of cortosis ore at the bottom of a deep shaft. A fabled ore, some called it — owing to its scarcity, but even more for its intrinsic ability to diminish the effectiveness of thelightsaber. For that reason, the Jedi Order had gone to great lengths to restrict mining and refinement of the ore. If not the bane of the Jedi’s existence, cortosis was a kind of irritant, a challenge to their weapon's reputation for fearsome invincibility.

It was to Tenebrous's credit that the Sith had learned of Bal'demnic's rich lodes before the Jedi, who by means of an agreement with the Republic Senate had first claim to all discoveries, as they had with Adegan crystals and Force-sensitive younglings of all species. But Tenebrous and the generations of Sith Masters who had preceded him were privy to covert data gleaned by vast networks of informants the Senate and the Jedi knew nothing about, including mining survey teams and weapons manufacturers.

Twin blue-hued brain tails swished back and forth in perfect rhythm across the slick material of a well fitted black armoweave flight suit as if music was playing yet unheard while Jedi Knight Cambria Zadira stood on the ship's bridge calm and quietly facing the large transparisteel view port in front of her. Gold-speckled hazel eyes were closed in a mediative state, or was she power napping... as the Twi'lek Guardian used the down time to center herself in the Force while the Freespace Rangers traveled along with the Silver Sanctum Coalition's fleet to Centares.

Rumors had it more than just a few people in the sector had simply disappeared over the last several months. From experience that usually meant pirates or mercenaries were at work taking slaves for profit to either sell or use for themselves in labor camps or pleasure palaces. It didn't matter what the reason was for - slavery of any manner was not okay. Period. Time would tell though when real-time intel could be obtained after they arrived in system.

The Wheel

Docking Station Xesh Nine

The Wheel was one of those pit stops that you just wanna take your time and enjoy.

With as much going on and a major trade hub, Kaile knew that stopping by would be a good place to restock in supplies for the Messa and her and Kurt. He was off on a  mini vacation, leaving her and the old girl to fend for themselves for a bit.  Which was fine.  Kaile needed sometime alone from time to time.  At least, to think.  Well... at least she thought she did.

Honestly, so much had happened that she wasn't quite sure what she wanted.  All she knew is that things were rather strained...

Biting her lower lip, Kaile took the fuel hose and shoved it into the receptacle.  Clamping the safety on, she jiggled it a bit to make sure it was seated properly. So far, so good.  A toss of her hand sent wayward dark brown strands behind her ears.  Her most recent mission required her to dye it a darker hue.  Thankfully,  it would wash off after a few washings, but it was still rather odd to see.  A pair of pale blue contacts allowed her to hide the natural chocolate brown of her eyes.  A temp alias for the moment identified her as Viesu Kai, courier for Vanir Technologies.

Not to shabby at all to say the least.

Exis Station was a successful project, and the Conclave proved to be just as fruitful. The completion of the station happened sooner than she expected, so the leaders of the Sanctum and the Council had begun to move forward with their agenda. In reality, she was busy organizing the shift from Telos to the station for permanent stay and that took her away from other things, much of her business was conducted from the Temples Situation Room; nowadays she mostly appeared in holo form...

However, she was asked to join the lovely Heavenshields on a diplomatic mission to Bal'demnic. Nearby systems were reaching out for help for reassurance and security, especially when the Sith were etching closer and closer to Coalition Space; Time was of the essence. With the Order resting in the same space as well, it was fitting they participated in the endeavors as much as they could; it suited them all, especially for what was to come of both organizations...they were working on a project that seemed so long overdue.

When contacted she travelled to Bal'demnic as soon as she could, now she waited in the local spaceport for her associates to arrive. Honestly, she couldn't have been more content, the weather suited her; felt almost as a vacation. She stood off to the side, just in front of a viewport.

Holding out in front of her a holoprojector, she spoke to Matsu Ike who had also contacted her before the excursion.

"Master Matsu, my apologies for not being able to partake in the construction on New Holstice. The memory moths are such intriguing creatures, to research them further would be a grand experiment. However, I have diplomatic matters to attend to on Bal'demnic that takes me away. I have sent word back to the temple, Joshua DragonsFlame or Nefertari Sovint might be able to take my place if all works in our favor."

She looked behind her, and then turned her attention back.

"Please keep me posted, in between meetings I may be able to engage you and your findings. May the Force be with you Master." She nodded and her transmission cut off.

“Unknown ships in sensor range, sir,” an officer said.

The Commodore scanned over the fleet profiles. They were not showing up as ships he had seen before.

“Prepare for battle. All attack craft to be fuelled and ready for launch. Order the Pioneer and Adventure to stay back.”

“Sir, they’re hailing.”

“Unknown ships, this is Commodore Keller of the Coalition. We are here to take control of this system by invitation of the people of Centares. State your identity and reasons for being here.”

They were still out of range of fire, but at this rate they would be soon, so he ordered the ships to slow so he would not be blundering into an ambush.

As the standoff was going on between Coalition and the unknown fleet, a corvette was entering orbit on the other side of the planet. Valiens Nantaris, leader of the Rangers, was on the planning deck, organising his landing.

As he stood by a map of the planet beside the lovely Jedi Knight Cambria Zadira he pointed out several places.

“These rural settlements have experienced people disappearing. Now, from what my scans say, the Coalition fleet is engaging an unknown force over the equator, but I feel we should investigate the ground, don’t you?”

He was pleased to have another Jedi join his abolitionist crusade…especially a blue Twi’lek! Sadly, she didn’t often let him touch her lekku.

The Wheel was a lively place, and even in the docking bays there were always those looking for a profit.

One such person approached her, wearing a large overcoat and an altogether too innocent expression.

“Ms Kai! Welcome to the Wheel! Allow me to personally introduce you to this haven away from the galaxy,” he said, smiling broadly. Several other folks of a similarly jovial disposition had appeared to loaf around in the background.

As the Jedi group came in to land they were met by one of the Kon’me, a tall and somewhat fearsome looking pink skinned reptilian species.

“Greetingss Jedi. I am Sslarssh. Welcome to our city.”

The quite impressive bubble-like structure on the cliff overlooked the sea below.

“The leaders are asssembled,” it hissed. Words with the letter S seemed to be a curious thing to say.

She looked at her command team, and then gave her first order.

Reverse thrusters, let's make this last a bit.

See if we can persuade them to go away, without them dying.

Also I wants scans of them ships here as soon as possible.

She then smiled, they had returned her hail.

She spoke only, there was no visual comunication.

Her voice was also altered slightly, so they would not recognise it by chance.

We are here to get paid, I am sorry this nothing personal.

If you come back next month, we shall not be here.

If you insist on your current course, I will be forced to initiate hostilities.

She had not quite full filled her quota for slaves she need, also she wanted to know what her ships could do.

So she would be undeterred by prospect of combat, but if they wanted to she would allow it, as courtesy.

Her fleet was now in formation.

The three Boa made up the front line.

Just behind them in the gaps was two Tarantulas.

Then it was the three fangs, these where flanked by the two cobras.

The fighter squadrons where hanging back, just behind these waiting for the fleet to start it move.

Karen Roberts uncoupled the fuel line to her X-Wing El-Cid and threw the pipe back into the retro-bin. The yellow lights of the flight deck flashed and spun. Reminding all pilots that they had reached their theater of operations. Time to get ready to party.

"Well. Here we go again."

Her Astromech gave a beep and sucked himself up into her vessel's belly. Karen gave the robot a thumb's up and looked over to her Squadron's Lead. He was already in his bird, gloves tight, and sitting horse-n-happy. So she grabbed her helm and slapped her mechanic on the ass.

"Wish me luck Bravo!"

The bewildered Ithorian grabbed his sore staggered booty and shrugged,

"May the Force be with you."

"Always!"

She smiled and vaulted up her ladder. It was go time. Flight deck ready.
