#1979863 Invasion Draws

Posted by Ryan on 11 September 2019 - 09:31 AM

Or instead of it going neutral the defender can't counter attack the attacker for a month. And the attacker can't invade said target for another month.Almost like a depletion of IC resources on both sides that will take a short respite before re-igniting war efforts.

I honestly don't like hte idea of going neutral, because then the attacking faction can just speed dom the crap out of said target and take a win. In almost all games i have played a draw always goes to the defender. In war, a Draw is a win for the defense.

Khonsu Amon I applaud you and what you have achieved with the Golden Company. You capitalized on a niche for mercenaries smartly and made a huge success story out of it. It Shows what that kind of minor faction can do to keep active and still play hard ball with the big dogs.I think we can start brainstorming some ideas that can make other different styled minor factions to fill niches, like something this Market can provide. I know the economy system was very short lived on this site and Valiens Nantaris i truly understand why you want to hammer it down now so folks don't want to get their hopes up. But there has to be a simplistic way of going about it that gives a reward system that benefits the minor factions and the market. Just like how dominions, invasions, faction threads benefit Major factions. I think it worth a peep at with no promises to be made.

PS: I do apologies if i am not making sense.I am pharmaceuticals

Continued from my last post:

You can implement two levels of wealth, personal wealth and faction wealth. Instead of minor factions like criminal syndicates trying to make it on the map game, they can try their hand at the economy game. Building a empire of wealth by what ever devious means they can come up with. which can give them access to technology IE ships, that only major factions could only have. Plus it adds a dash of a rewards system to those that participate. Again that goes with the same for bounty hunters and smugglers as two examples that could profit from this idea with in this Market arena.

Luna Terrik I personally would love to see some kind of economy system. But i also can see that being a huge task.

In saying that, i have seen on another site that does economy a bit different than a traditional sense. Instead of keeping track of actual wealth in the bank you hold they went on to using a wealth label/token tier system. For example if you were poor, your wealth label would be "Copper". IF you were filthy rich the label would be "platinum". To increase said wealth status you would have to do rp threads to justify the increase. Or an event, like being robbed, ship being blown up or some sort of sabotage you can find your wealth being decreased.

Now you can add to factory items a wealth token availability/ Restriction. Could work with bounty hunting, smuggling, Gambling and so on.

But how much mechanism and restriction does Tef/Staff/Members want to give up before encroaching on creative freedom.

Make it more Rp style responses instead of OOC. Example be The Bounty posts. Be a place where a hunter just acknowledges he/she has seen the bounty post and is accepting it. The only OOC that should happen there is the target agreeing to being hunted or not.

I don't know if i am making any sense. Brain kinda scrambled at the moment.

14 days since this thread had been started. My personal progress:

  • I have rekindled a friendship that i thought was lost in previous drama.
  • Staying out of discord/ Major factions has certainly decreased the stress and toxicity levels with in myself.
  • Been able to focus on character development of a new character of mine and stay casually active.

Sad that I am shelving Strider Garon, but for creative and personal differences it was best I just stay away for my own good. The TSE/UCM invasion looks fun and i will not lie, been tempted to jump in but fear of relapsing into old behavior patterns of headbutting with certain individuals, i have refrained from doing so. This just an example of taking personal responsibility of your own poodoo.

These are just small steps, but i think they are in the right direction for myself.

What have you all done since this thread was created?

Tefka you are a hard person to read. You start this thread to get some poodoo offloaded. You even admit things can be improved than you go off and say the above as if you really don't care. So what is it Tef? Do you want to guide us in changes or you really just don't give a f$#%?

Tathra Khaeus there are a few members of UCM posting to this. I would love to see Yasha to post her thoughts on this. Being probably one of the more hated person's on this site. Which honestly boggles my mind, meeting her in person and herhusband opening their home to me for a few days, i can honestly say what ever BS folks have to say about her is garbage. One of the nicest ladies i have ever met. She is human and has made mistakes like the rest of us but damn, the things that people have said in discord about her. Shame that all of it has finally gotten to her and she is now on LOA.

That is what toxicity has done, keeps pushing good people away.

I say lets start on how Choas Admins actually deal with issues (or not). I had brought to you guy's attention few months back that there was some major OOC issues with the harassment and bullying of an entire faction. Admins were asked to step in but instead we got the "People need to grow up" and " We are not daycare workers". Which honestly, i agreed 100% with, you guys are neither of those and should not be. But the issue got that far and we were sluffed off.I believe you guys need to be a bit more pro active in trying to handle the BS that seems to get sprayed around here.

As much as the map game brings in that Competitive RP style. It also in turn brings in the Salt. Rping should never be about who wins and who loses. ITs about the story but most of us get felled into that horrible mindset and usually the losing side burns out and quits.

OOC Communication has to be a must. Forcing Plots onto individual characters or even an entire faction could be considered Powergaming.

Me personally, I use to love this site. But as the time goes on I find it harder and harder to stick with it. Its just to toxic, too negative. Discords are just poodoo talking after poodoo talking. Who hates who and so on. No one is innocent of it. Especially me. I have done my fair share damage. Question is, how do we as a site/group fix that and move forward?

#1921743 [Jedi/Sith Empire] Rock and a Hard Place - pt2 Jedi Rescue

Posted by Ryan on 08 March 2019 - 11:02 PM

Location: Save Haven Bridge---- heading towards hangar

Allies: Jedi

Enemies: Sith

Tyro did not need acute sense in the force to realize there were intruders aboard. His security comms lit up relaying the events going on in the hangar. What puzzled the knight was the mere fact there were no sightings of boarding crafts what so ever. No reports of hull breaches accept for some kind of 'Hole' in the hangar, what ever that meant. Tryo would soon find out with his eyes as he would quickly follow Master Coren and his retinue. His hand would instinctively grip for his elegant lightsaber, fashion to resemble a rapier with knuckle guard and cross-guard made of songsteel for added protection and binding techniques. The weapon was customized to fit Tyro's preferred from of combat, Form II or also known as Makashi.

Posted by Ryan on 07 March 2019 - 10:57 AM

Location: Safe Haven

Allies: Jedi and friends

Enemies: Sith

Corso, a mid aged Jedi Guardian, was posted at the Starcruiser's bridge as security. He wore dark blue leather tunic with a right shoulder guard with the insignia of his house upon it. He wore a black Cavalier hat and a elegant blue shoulder cape that draped off the left shoulder. Calfskin high boots with his black trousers tucked into it would complete the tapani noble's attire along with his rapier styled lightsber secured to his belt. Klaxons blaring, crews scrambling and Master Starchaser at the very center of it with the sith nipping at their heels and all Tyro could do was inwardly laugh at the ironic naming of the very ship he was on. 'Safe Haven'. This was the least safest place in the galaxy and yet the guardian found humor in it all. What was the point in life if you could not face death with a smile on your face?

Ty stroked his beard with a gloved hand, was all he could do to resist reaching for the flask of corellian whiskey he had hidden in his tunic's inner pocket. His tongue longed for the wood and spicy flavor to ignite his pallet but drinking on the job was frowned upon. He also had the urge to go for one of his Dihlnlexan cigars but smoking on a ship was also not prohibited. Sides from the imminent risk of death that was chasing them, this post was dull in his opinion. He was anxious, like everyone on that ship and possibly the fleet around him. Was not one for just standing around waiting, but that was what his job entailed on this tour and it certainly was his turn. So, he just stood their, waiting while keeping his hand occupied with the thickness of his beard.
