Intent: To create a standardized law enforcement pistol that is a reliable and powerful platform for patrol officers and private owners who find a way around the restricted development.
Hero Unit: No
Manufacturer: Czerka Arms
Model: Challenger
Affiliation: Republic Law Enforcement
Modularity: no
Production: Mass
Material: Durasteel
Description: During the growth of the Republic the need for stronger weapons for Law Enforcement became an apparent problem. With the recent installment of a Czerka corporation building on Coruscant the government decided it was time to contract them out to make a powerful sidearm for patrol forces. The resulting weapon was the L.E.P 3 “Challenger”. The weapon is small and compact but offers premium accuracy and a camera scope underneath the barrel for optical zoom options through the officers helmet HUD. The stopping power of the weapon is also much heavier than that of the old DC-17 and DC-15 energy pistols, an astonishing achievement considering the accuracy the weapon portrays. It offers a very sufficient fire rate of 2 rounds a second with a massive knock down power, making it the perfect weapon for the job of an officer.

Classification: Blaster
Size: Handheld
Status: Limited [Police & Military]
Length: 9 centimeters
Weight: 1.5 kilograms
Ammunition Type: Gas Canister/Energy pack
Ammunition Capacity: 100 rounds per battery
Range: 33 meters

Something to note: The most common blaster rifles and pistols has a gas cartridge capable of up to 500 rounds, with their power packs being limited to roughly 100 shots. Also, typically how these things relate is that as the power of a shot increases, fire rate and the number of shots that can be done decreases. To make a more powerful shot than a standard one requires more power from the power pack and more blaster gas to create a denser plasma. Otherwise, I like the range on it. It looks like a good design.

I, too, was wondering about fire rate. This seems to be a rough equivalent to Han Solo's DL-44 heavy blaster pistol, yes? Would that fire rate be approximately what you're aiming for?

...so to speak?

dang, I meant to say it's a semi-auto with a 10 rounds per second fire rate for a total of 600 rounds a minute. However that is hindered by a 2.1 second reload time

Semi-auto usually means you're pulling the trigger once per shot - the way you have it worded, you're pulling the trigger ten times per second. Did you mean fully automatic? If so, your 100-shot clip gives you 10 seconds of fully automatic fire. I think you face a choice between this being an Uzi or a Magnum. Your description was more Magnum/heavy blaster, but a fully automatic heavy blaster pistol would essentially give you a pocket-sized assault rifle. Can you clarify?

Sorry, didn't take into account that some people are not too gun savvy. A pistol still has a rounds per second and rounds per minute rating. Basically at the ultimate fastest, inhumane or not, that the trigger can be pulled the weapon will only be able to fire 10 rounds in a second and only 300 in a minute. Those act to give you a basis for statistics when calculating your own personal fire rate. So, those are pretty much the absolute maximum limitations of the weapon, even if the weapon couldn't be fired that fast by a human.

When packaging stats, it needs to be done in a user-friendly way. You're right, you can't assume that everyone who reads it will understand that you mean technical limitations, because these particular technical limitations are unimportant in a PVP firefight. They're assuming that you're giving them the relevant information - how many shots they can fire, on average.
