APPEARANCE:

Albrecht is a tall, lanky young man with wavy brown hair and dark eyes. He is an ordinary looking boy with a nice smile. His clothing is Ukatian in style; he wears doublets in various colors, made from luxury fabrics like silk damask or velvet. His clothes often appear old or worn out.

TRAITS:

Nobleman
: As the son of a noble house, Albrecht is used to being around powerful people and can navigate the upper echelons of society with (relative) ease.

The Age of Chivalry: Enamored with tales of brave and virtuous knights, Albrecht seeks to emulate the heroes he looks up to. He is full of noble ideals and naive but well-intentioned bravado.

Shamed House: Albrecht's family carries the weight of his father's treason. Their lands and holdings are far less valuable than that of other noble houses, and their prospects are more limited.

Sexist: Ukatian men rule over their women with an iron fist. Albrecht was taught to view the fairer sex as submissive, demure creatures whose place is in the home.

Empath: Though his abilities are just beginning to manifest, Albrecht has an aptitude for sensing the emotions, intentions, and sometimes even the thoughts of others. Alas, the more he delves into this power, the harder it is for him to tolerate.

Flawed: Albrecht is prone to jealousy and resentment, and lacks the maturity required for introspection. He doesn't see the flaws in himself and will blame others for his problems.

CONNECTIONS:
Johan von Duschendorff - Father
Elisabeta von Duschendorff - Mother
Lilette von Duschendorff - Younger Sister

PRE-RP HISTORY:

During the Ukatian Civil War, the king ordered the execution of five year old Albrecht von Duschendorff. The boy had been given over to King Stepan as a hostage to ensure his father's obedience to the crown, but his father Lord Johan broke his word. As the young boy was led from the siegeworks to the scaffold by the king's soldiers, oblivious that he was going to his death, he passed by a marshal who was holding a handsome javelin. With boyish excitement, the lad said, "Let me have a go with that spear, sir!" The king heard the boy's innocent glee, and his heart was overcome with compassion. He scooped up the child and declared him reprieved.

The soft-hearted King Stepan would ultimately be overthrown by Horace von Cholmondeley, who became Ukatis' new monarch. He refused to honor House Duschendorff for their efforts in the war, as Johan had betrayed the previous king and was therefore untrustworthy, but he did return Albrecht to his family. The boy would grow up in Quitaine, on his family's estate. Quitaine was a harsh, bitter land where nothing had grown for years, and the cold, crumbling castle which lorded over it had seen better days. An embittered Johan took his resentment and rage out on his wife and children in-between lengthy jaunts in the countryside, where he drank and whored their meager fortune away.

To escape his dreary surroundings and the abuse, Albrecht's mother sent the children to boarding schools in the capital of Axilla. There Albrecht met other children of nobles and even made a few friends, though they never let him forget where he stood in the lower rungs of the social hierarchy. He carried the weight of his father's shameful conduct like a brand, strangling his prospects and hopes for his future. Albrecht was entranced with tales of knights who had walked the world in a long-ago golden age of chivalry. His hero was Wilhelm the Marshal, the greatest knight of them all. Like Albrecht, he had been taken as a hostage for the crimes of a treacherous father, yet he overcame the weight of patrilineal sins by embodying unwavering loyalty, exceptional bravery, and incorruptible virtue.

Then, when Albrecht was a teenager, the traditionally isolationist Ukatis joined the Alliance. It was during this period that testing was conducted on young members of the nobility, and Albrecht was found to be Force Sensitive. With his prospects on Ukatis limited, he jumped at the chance to join the Jedi Order, about whom he had heard many great things reminiscent of his beloved knight tales. But once he moved to the Temple on Coruscant, he found it very different from what he expected. The culture shock was intense, and rather than making new friends, he encountered further ostracization and alienation from other Padawans. He believes his peers to be prejudiced—and he is equally disdainful of their ways.
