Dangeruese gave a throaty chuckle. It wasn't the first time someone perked a brow or gave a double take in intrigue at her name. Odds were, it wouldn't be the last.

An excellent firm shake of the hand and Danger admitted, "It's actually Dangeruese, but even I reckon that's a mouthful for folk to say. Danger works just fine." in more ways than one. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance Master Vuto." she added, going along with the assumption that the Kel-Dor was a Master Jedi so as to not insult.

The protocol droid received a swivel of attention. Danger arched her brow, and then she crossed her arms over her ample chest. She appeared to muse over the information and nodded.

"Alright, I can get a speeder and we can go take a gander at these sites. I can review your data and assist in making determinations today to speed up the process," She offered, seemingly indicating she was an employee or perhaps a site manager for MaraTibx and Pharmatech to be able to make such a decision.

"Let me get a speeder, and we can all go to those coordinates. How does that sound?"

"Is it possible to heal the planet? If it was poisoned once, it should be possible to remove the poison again, right?"

Efret frowned. "Not entirely, unfortunately. Cleanup of chemical spills restricted to the top meter or so of soil often requires removal. Give gravity nine hundred years to work on a soil and..." She trailed off. On any other planet, intended or accidental leaks would stop at water table depth, where the toxins were carried further away from their source to spread their harm. That was obviously bad enough, but here? Without any groundwater to speak of, where would the downwards seepage stop? Probably at whatever depth the parent rocks stopped being porous enough. Was that kilometers down? She imagined for a moment Gholondreine β stripped to the last few formations of its continental crust.

She shook her head. "We can help it. Not heal it."

"Are you two going on vacation together? That's cute."

Efret laughed shortly, nervously. She knew that the Jedi had moved far past the forbidding of personal relationships, so they weren't in trouble if it looked like that, but still... A very light hint of pink rose to her cheeks. Vera shouldn't get that kind of idea. She shouldn't share that kind of idea. It'd rub off on Efret.

Saved by the convor's call. Nirrah screeched overhead again.

Efret untwined her arm from around Elias' and stepped backwards to let Nirrah alight on her forearm. She brought the convor close until their bowed heads touched. The moment they did, Efret saw Nirrah's recent memory: she flew over the side of a sudden cliff and over a valley. There, very out of place, was a slew of shattered pieces of pottery.

"Nirrah found some pottery over yonder." She pointed the way Nirrah had come, able to see more clearly now with the convor jumping to her shoulder again. "It must be in what was the hadal zone." It was a good thing that Efret always carried at least some climbing gear. In her chosen specialty, it was safe to assume that vertical geography would eventually become a hinderance to any expedition. And it was safer to be prepared anyway; she had only free climbed once in her life—when she had been a novice archeologist—and she had sworn to never do it needlessly again.

"Come." With that, she began to lead the way.

The drop-off was not far away. Efret walked up its bedrock edge rising gently out of the sand and glanced over into the valley below. "We'll need to find an anchoring point to descend." She came down to safety.

Aris glanced between Valery and Briana. He was quiet, back to his usual stoicism as he looked to his own racer. Unlike them, he wasn't going to say anything. No, he was focused. This was his first time piloting a podracer like this, right? He narrowed his eyes as he hopped into the pod, looked over the controls. Idly went through the buttons to ensure he knew what he was going to need. He wasn't about to loose to either of them, after all.

He was the one that was going to win. Not because he was better than either of them. He knew they had more skill. But he wasn't going to let himself be distracted, and while they bantered he was going go for the win.

She was off to a good start.

Despite the rising tension between her and Briana, Valery was focused and accelerated perfectly. It helped her ease into the first leg, away from most other racers who could get in the way, and she was going to do her best to keep them behind her. But as the dust of take-off settled, Valery realized that Briana was practically alongside her. Only Aris hadn't made quite the perfect start yet, but this was his first podrace, and they handled differently from speeder bikes and hoverboards.

She knew he'd catch up — he was her son, after all.

<Come on, Bri. Stay close, huh?> Valery grinned and looked up ahead as they approached the second leg of the track. It started with a shaper turn, before allowing racers to accelerate down a straight piece of road again. But that was the tricky part — there was a zigzag turn right after that, so braking in time was crucial.

She was going to nail it.

<You got this, sweetie,> Valery communicated to Aris, as she went into the turn. <Show your Master what you got.>

If Ko still had his eyes he likely would have blinked a little under his goggles over what she said. “M-Master? Oh no no I’m not actually a full Jedi master. No not yet. I actually only got knighted very recently. But thank you, and it's a pleasure to meet you too.” Ko said with a soft laugh at the end. Wanting to clarify that he indeed wasn’t anywhere near a master now. Maybe his appearance didn’t help with that either. For most the visual differences between a Kel for who looked 17 and one that looked 70 was difficult if not impossible to tell apart.

Ko and the protocol droid listened to Danger urging that they head back out now. The Kel Dor and the droid have two different responses to it. Ko was starting to imagine that Danger was a woman of action who didn’t care for wasting time. He could definitely admire that. No point in dragging your feet on important matters.

Meanwhile the droid seemed a little less thrilled over the idea of being dragged back out into the salt flats. “Oh well you don’t really need me to accompany you both back. I think I-”

“Alrighty then, you heard the lady ‘Ar-Kay’ we can get an early start with apply what we found out there.” Ko quickly replied, cutting off the protocol droid from trying to conjure up excuses for staying back. Feeling lucky to have found someone here who seemed to be able to make these decisions. And was actionable enough to follow through with them.

“Sounds great Miss Danger, we’ll wait right out here for ya. I recommend something fast with a decent flight ceiling so we can get there faster and avoid some of the rougher terrain.” Ko added with a supportive thumbs up. After Which he turned towards RK-8. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you don’t start rusting on us out there. Plus you still have most of the data we collected inside of you.” Ko said, trying to comfort the droid and let it know that they were still needed for the day.

Objective I - Forgotten Truths

The twin suns of Gholondreine-β beat down on the shifting dunes, casting long shadows over the barren landscape. Braze adjusted his goggles, squinting against the bright light as he guided his speeder bike through the sand. The hum of the bike was a constant companion, blending with the whisper of the wind that carried faint echoes of a forgotten past.

He halted the bike at the crest of a dune, the engine purring softly as he dismounted. Braze took a deep breath, closing his eyes to shut out the present and reach out through the Force. The familiar sensation of the energy field enveloped him, amplifying his senses and allowing him to perceive beyond the physical.

Stretching out with his feelings through the force, Braze sought the hidden caches of knowledge buried beneath the sands. The Force was another constant, ebbing and flowing like the tides, and within its currents, he could sense the faintest traces of the past. Whispers of ancient tomes and forgotten wisdom called to him, guiding his steps as he moved forward.

He felt a pulse of energy that resonated with a particular intensity. It was a sensation of knowledge long lost, waiting to be discovered. Braze opened his eyes, the world around him sharpened by the clarity of the Force. He could see a distant ruin, half-buried in the sand, its crumbling walls and shattered pillars standing as silent witnesses to a time long gone.

Mounting his speeder bike once more, Braze navigated the treacherous terrain with practiced ease. The ruins grew larger as he approached, their shadowed recesses promising secrets that had been hidden for centuries. He dismounted again, stepping cautiously into the ancient structure.

Inside, the air was cool, a stark contrast to the heat outside. Dust motes floated in the beams of light that filtered through the cracks in the walls. Braze moved slowly but with purpose, following the pull of the Force deeper into the ruin.

Finally, he stood before a collapsed archway, sensing that beyond it lay what he sought. With a gentle nudge of the Force, he moved the fallen debris aside, revealing a small chamber. Inside, shelves lined the walls, filled with ancient scrolls and books, their pages brittle with age.

As he ventured further, his path was blocked by a collapsed archway. With a gentle nudge of the Force, he moved the fallen debris aside, revealing a small chamber. The sight that greeted him made him pause, a deep sadness settling in his chest.

Strewn across the floor were the remains of people long since dead. Skeletons lay in twisted positions, their final moments frozen in time. Some clutched each other, as if seeking comfort in their last breaths. The once-vibrant fabrics of their clothing had decayed, leaving only fragments to hint at the lives they had lived.

Braze knelt beside one of the skeletons, a child judging by the size. The small bones were arranged as if the child had curled up, seeking protection. He felt a pang of sorrow, imagining the terror and despair that must have filled this place when the end came.

He continued to explore the chamber, careful not to disturb the remains. Among the bones, he found artifacts of their lives – a broken locket, a rusted tool, a crumbling book. Each item told a story of a life abruptly cut short, a legacy buried beneath the sands.

He continued to explore the chamber, careful not to disturb the remains. The architecture and layout suggested it had been some kind of school or house of education. Faded murals on the walls depicted scenes of teaching and learning, a stark reminder of the vibrant community that once thrived here.

In a corner of the room, Braze discovered a hidden compartment beneath the floor. With a bit of effort, he pried it open to reveal a metal box, surprisingly well-preserved. Inside, he found a collection of data discs, their labels indicating they contained historical records and educational materials. Among them was a unique, intricately carved crystal, its surface etched with ancient runes.

He lifted the crystal, feeling a strong resonance through the Force. This was a repository of knowledge, a legacy of the scholars who once inhabited this place. The crystal seemed to pulse with a gentle light, responding to his touch as if recognizing him.

"A Knight then? Well pardon my assumption, Knight Vo, it is still, nonetheless, a pleasure," Danger would chuckle out with a nod. The amusement in her gaze only grew brighter with the Protocol droid's antics. With a nod and a small gesture, she motioned for them to follow her.

"If you would like refreshment before we leave, come with me. We have a stock of ice-cold drinks and various snacks that might whet your appetite," A glance over at the Protocol droid, "Could also get you cleaned up and sprayed down with some anticorrosive spray if'n you feel you might need it."

"I've a speeder that will fit those specifications. It shouldn't take long for me to pull it up." With that, Danger led the pair towards one of the mobile command unit structures. They'll be able to find exactly what Danger said: drinks, food, and a place to stay in the shade. A few workers would nod and greet Danger, but nothing out of the ordinary—she'd already told them to continue on as normal and not to give her all the pomp and circumstance.

“Oh that sounds wonderful. Although I might need to turn down any snacks. Unless you have meals that can be eaten through a straw.” To highlight that point Ko gently tapped the metallic frame of his anti-ox mask with one of his index claws. Proper meals were something of a luxury for the Kel Dor. Plus he had plenty of his own rations on hand stored within his standard utility belt.

“Thank you, anything to ward off any rust would be greatly appreciated Miss Danger.” RK-8 replied as they followed her to the mobile command unit. The pair couldn’t really notice anything out of the ordinary. Being both oblivious to being in the presence of “The Queen of Trade” herself. Not that it would really tell the Kel Dor much if he did. Entrepreneurs and industrialists weren’t really a focus of his. Whether or not the protocol droid recognized her was a different matter.

“Yeah like one of those Incom Skyhoopers would be nice, and… oh wait, nah those only have two seats I think. Nevermind.” Ko suggested, before instantly going back on it after remembering that they’d need something to fit RK-8 if they wanted to bring the protocol droid along with them. While she got the speeder squared away Ko made his way over to see what he could drink. “Do you see any ice teas Ar-Kay?” Thinking it would be nice to have a refreshing cold drink after getting all dried up in the salt fields prior. Asking RK-8 since he couldn’t read any of the labels himself. Otherwise he might end up drinking a soda like ‘Sumit Humidity’ by accident.

Much to the Jedi Knight's delight, there was an ice-tea version, complete with the appropriate straw. In addition, a replicator food dispenser could be selected to provide smoothie versions for ease of eating should Kel-Dor desire a more hearty version.

A few minutes later, Danger sped up in a four-seater land speeder, complete with comfortable but well-worn leather seating, a sealed interior to keep out the said, a state-of-the-art air-filtration, and above all, air-conditioning! She arrived with a rumble of the engine, purring as if a well domesticated Bha'lair just waiting to be released for a good run.

"Alright, there Knight Vuto, reckon you got time for a spin?" she asked, bringing the speeder to a halt. While her breaking mask would hid her grin, the mischief in her emerald fire eyes would not be mistaken.
