- Bevelle-class light freighters are heavily armored and shielded, making use of the three-layered Golem armored hull plating and four-layered Kirin shielding system, giving it long durability against attacks from pirates and other attackers. Bevelle-class light freighters are also equipped with several countermeasure systems for further protection.
- Making use of the Garuda Ion Drives, Bevelle-class light freighters have very impressive speeds and maneuverability, giving them an advantage when trying to evade pirates and other attackers. It also allows a pilot or the recommended small crew to use any available materials for use as fuel, avoiding the possibility of running low while traveling the galaxy.
- Bevelle-class light freighters have a decent cargo capacity of 2,000 metrics tons and have capacity for five passengers in addition to the recommended crew, although quarters would be tight.
- While the Valefor laser cannon has impressive firepower, due to the Bevelle-class light freighter only equipped with one turret, it does not have much in the way of armaments at all. It has to rely on its defensive shielding and armor and speeds for protection from attackers.
- If the molecular furnaces within the Garuda Ion Drives are damaged or sabotaged, they will consume the engine and leave the Bevelle-class light freighter dead in space and heavily damaged.
- Due to the shield emitters of the Kirin being scattered across the hull, if parts of the hull become damaged, gaps can form in the overlapping shield layers of the freighter.
With Aurora Industries' Aeon Program in full production, although more technologies were planned for development, the company began focusing on revamping its starship development under a new initiative called the Highwind Program. At the direction of the CEO and the board of engineers, production and development of different classes of ships would be split among various company facilities to allow for multiple projects to be undertaken at once. The shipyards and drydocks at Aurora Industries' Belgaroth facility would handle production of freighters and other logistical vessels, with a focus on improving upon and expanding Aurora Industries' offerings.
The Bevelle-class Light Freighter is the first ship produced under the new initiative, and a first for the company as previous freighters had focus more on bulk cargo capacity, although the Bevelle still has an impressive capacity to haul 2,000 metric tons of cargo using both its internal cargo hold and magnetic cargo pod slots on its starboard and port sides. The Bevelle has also been equipped with several new systems developed under the Aeon Program, following the philosophy of the Belgaroth design team to maximize defense and speed. Golem-type Advanced Plating and the Kirin Shielding System were included to maximize defense for the ship, giving it multiple layers of armor and shields, while two Garuda Ion Drives were installed for increased speed and maneuverability.
The Bevelle, while very lightly armed, is still equipped with a dual Valefor laser cannon turret to give it some firepower to ward off pirates and other attackers. Each system of the Bevelle is powered by a freighter-scaled Starscourge reactor, but in an agreement with Arceneau Trade Company, Solarium Glasteel was used for the viewports of the ship to give the ship a passive ability to store solar energy for emergency use or for life support systems.
