OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To provide Kannic Vors and the Bounty Hunters' Guild with an NPC that can be used for slicing/information gathering (also to update the old submission to new codex standards)
  • Role: Bounty Hunters' Guild slicer/information broker/ShadowNet operator
  • Permissions: My old NPC entry
  • Links: NPC'd in an old thread here, intent to use more often in future threads
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: Mid 20's
  • Force Sensitivity: N/A
  • Species: Twi'lek
  • Appearance: Cip is a young Twi'lek, who has a pale orange skin color and red eyes. His lekku have wavy patterns down the entire lengths, and he also has minor cybernetic enhancements that are visible on his forehead, neck and pupils. He is a slim individual, gaunt almost, due to not really engaging in physical activity beyond typing rapidly at his holo-station. He also has dark eyes, an indication of addiction to stims. His clothing is simple, and he has a pair of goggles for when he needs to leave his apartment, to block out the light of Coruscant - to avoid damaging his eye cybernetics.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Cip'muviz [aka Cip, aka ShadowSlicerX]
  • Loyalties: The Bounty Hunters' Guild
  • Wealth: Income indicates rich; stim addiction and debt result in poor
  • Notable Possessions: Cip has a full slicer setup in his Coruscant apartment. It contains a range of equipment for slicing, hacking, updating ShadowNet, etc
  • Skills: Cip is a highly skilled and accomplished slicer and computing tech. There's very little he can't gain access to with time and effort.
  • Personality: Cip is quiet, withdrawn and rarely makes eye contact. He is an introvert, and internalizes a lot. He's only really comfortable with people he knows well, and only allows Sidon or those he trusts access to his personal space. He is very possessive about his slicing gear, and gets very angry if someone touches his equipment. Because of the stim addiction, Cip is prone to stuttering and losing his train of thought momentarily. He also refuses to admit there's a stim problem.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Electronics and slicing.
  • Combat Function: Professional slicer, information broker and ShadowNet operator for the Guild.
Strengths:
  • One of the best slicers around: It's not a matter of if Cip can slice into something, it's a matter of when. A prodigy with electronics and information gathering, he serves as the primary source of information for the Guild, supplying acquisition histories and personal data in preparation for contracts. He also ensures the ShadowNet remains invisible and stops intrusions from other slicers.
  • Electronic Prodigy: When it comes to holo-systems or networks, few can keep up with Cip. He's beyond most of his peers, and has rewritten the literal book on some slicer topics of discussion on several occasions. When he sets his mind to it, Cip can create almost any device he needs to perform slicing or information gathering/brokering.
  • Counter-Slicer: Cip has prided himself on being one of the best counter-slicers. He has stopped numerous intrusions into the ShadowNet, and often pits himself against digital foes in a battle of slicer wits - he likes to test himself, by tackling groups of slicers, stopping their efforts to gain access to things digital. For fun.
Weaknesses:
  • Addiction: He's addicted to stims. Really badly. Can't function without them bad.
  • Real-World Useless: Away from the holo-systems, Cip is basically useless. He lacks developed social skills, he is frail, he barely feeds himself, and his bedding hasn't been changed in a very long time. In fact, away from his digital systems, Cip becomes a hollow shell of himself, completely shutting down mentally and physically, just desiring to be connected to the holonet again as soon as he's off it.
  • Unfit: Despite his lean physique, Cip is very unhealthy and unfit. He lacks any real degree of strength, and has trouble walking up his apartment stairs. One would not rely on him to do anything outside of his profession.
  • Depressed Genius: Like so many intelligent sentients, Cip has a lot on his mind. He is rarely in a happy mood, and his usual demeanor is sullen and withdrawn. He longs for the ultimate test to his skills, but also dreads failure, which depresses him more.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Cip'muviz had a troubling childhood. He doesn't talk about it much, but it prompted him to search for escapism on the HoloNet. As a result, his real-life development suffered, while his digital presence and skills flourished. Being intelligent, Cip took to slicing like a rancor to meat, and was soon running hacking rings around his mentors and peers. Even at such a young age, Cip was responsible for some very high profile slicing work, and he started gaining a lot of money for his skills... only to find he needed to stay awake longer, to do more work, to earn more credits. He ultimately turned to stims, and as a result he became more and more addicted, until it reached a point where he simply can't function without them on regular occasion.

The discovery of Cip was by accident, when Kannic Vors was tasked with hunting down the teenager (at the time). Having stolen valuable documents from a particular company that held a lot of sway on Coruscant, the boy was contracted as a bounty. Luckily for Cip, it turned out the company had lied about the age of the acquisition, stating Cip was an adult; but in actual fact he was legally a child, and with that deception revealed, Kannic refused to enact the contract when he tracked the Twi'lek down - as he refuses to acquisition children.

Instead, Kannic stated the Twi'lek had died, with Cip easily forging his own death data, and using a stim overdose as the cause. As a favor for sparing him, Cip offered to work for the Bounty Hunters' Guild, boosting their security and communication systems. And after he did the task so well, he was offered a full-time gig, with full pay and benefits. Kannic also mentioned the challenge that came with the job of providing intel to Hunters, which further enticed the Twi'lek to take up the challenge.

Agreeing, Cip relished the chance to show his skills. And he did, for many years since, constantly keeping the Hunters' secrets and networks away from prying eyes. As far as the Hunters are concerned, Cip has earned every last chit, and Kannic would back him if he came under threat immediately. Even if the stim use is an ever increasing concern...
