• Hierarchy: COMLIT is lead by the Chief Logistical Minister, a senior bureaucrat within the Dark Empire appointed by the Emperor on recommendation from the Grand Vizier. The Government Agency utlimately answers to both the Imperial Economic Committee and the Imperial Ruling Council, the two primary organs of state of which the CLM is a member.

While a nominally a Civilian Agency, COMLIT operates with a paramilitary rank structure to seemlessly integrate into the wider Empire:

  • Any citizen of the Dark Empire may apply to join COMLIT by scoring at least a 70% on the approved Imperial Civil Service Examination, which tests the candidate on their knowledge, problem-solving skills, business mangement and adherence to any and all laws and regulations passed by the Imperial Ruling Council. Advertising itself as a meritrocracy, COMLIT favors applications who have merit and the skills neccessary to complete the job in a timely manner, in order to faciliate the smooth functioning of the Imperial Economy. Membership within the organization is dominated by those with mathematical skills and business operations, such as Muuns, Neimoidians and Givins who often serve in top positions. Non-citizens with desirable experience can be offered full citizenship in exchange for serving 1 year on board a COMLIT Freighter.
• Climate:
  • COMLIT, despite its governmental facade, operates more akin to a merchant commune. The distribution of resources and duties is a collaborative effort between the Imperial Aligned-Merchants and their external suppliers, aimed at ensuring the secure and efficient movement of goods and services within the Imperial Civilian Economy. While internal compeition exists among members, it is primarily concentrated within the upper echelons of the organization, where department heads strive for greater budgets and influence over specific aspects of the agency's policities. However, such compeition becomes inconsequential when merit is the sole determinant.
• Reputation:
  • The organization is widely regarded as the benevolent version of COMFEAR. The members of COMLIT have a wide-range of powers such as establishing new war factories, civilian goods factories, ensuring the authenticity of imperial codes, establishing new traffic laws and regulations, ensuring that freighters are redirected to the front for the good of the Dark Empire's expansion. Imperial-friendly corporations and outside merchants are treated fairly and given opportunities to tap into the local markets across conquered worlds. They enjoy a peaceful relationship with the Imperial Military and Armada, as they provide a critical service.
• Curios:
  • COMLIT members wear a dark brown version of the standard issue service uniform of the Dark Empire, which is adorned with additional ranks, robes and enhancements for command-level officers.
• Rules:
  • COMLIT implements stringent Imperial-centric regulations on both residents and external vendors of the Dark Empire in order to support the Emperor's expanding war-driven economy. However, lurking behind this front is the influential Trade Federation of Planets, which frequently influences strategic choices covertly and fills the group with its own associates.
• Goals:
  • COMLIT has two primary objectives at present. The first objective revolves around harnessing the full potential of the industrial prowess possessed by the Dark Empire. This ensures that every resource and capability within the empire's reach is effectively utilized. The second objective pertains to facilitating the Trade Federation's seamless passage into Imperial Territory, while evading any suspicion from the Galactic Alliance and its Strategic Intelligence Agency.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Following the Dark Empire's triumphant invasion into the core of the Galactic Alliance, COMLIT was founded with the purpose of smoothly transitioning control from the Alliance to the Empire in the occupied regions, while ensuring the stability of the local merchant economy.

The task of establishing this governmental organization was entrusted to Meii-Nu Suu, the representative of Viceroy Laborr, and the highest-ranking positions within COMLIT were filled by personnel from the Trade Federation of Planets who were eager to recoup any loss investments.

COMLIT moved quickly to establish its headquarters on a strong fortress world, and began construction of massive civil work projects, the signing of contracts with external suppliers such as the Trade Federation and the InterGalactic Banking Clan.

The Dark Empire's Merchant Fleet is directly under their control, allowing them to fund the growing war industry of the Dark Empire and harass the Alliance Merchant Fleets to steal their cargo.
