- Believed to be the mask once possessed by Darth Nihilus, it was imbued by the Sith Lord with his own life essence after the Dark Side threatened to consume his entire being, it possesses the ability to grant an individual wearing the mask the ability to use the Force as though they were a Sith Apprentice. Additionally it possesses variable reactions to Force use due to Darth Aion's attempts to commune with the mask through Force use and Sith Alchemy.
- The mask provides the wearer's face with a variety of protections against types of damage as well as a significant protection against neutral and Dark Side applications of the Force.

At the height of his power the Sith Lord, and member of the Sith Triumvirate, Darth Nihilus wore a ghost white mask on his face that signified to others his visage. The truth behind the mask was that his very life essence had been bound to the mask and his armor as a means to preserve his life against errosion by the Force. In his effort to sate his hunger to feed on the Force following the cataclysm at Malachor V, the Sith Lord he imbued his armor and mask with his life essence to act both as preservation of his life but also as a means of retaining some semblance of a corporeal form with which he could still wield a lightsaber and practice physical applications of the Force.
While the body of the Sith was lost, and his physical manifestation seemingly destroyed, the mask remains as a symbol of the Sith Lord's power. Whether it be worn or kept in ones possession it stands as a testament to the Sith Lord well beyond his passing; especially by way of it's ability to grant Force ability to those with or without it when it is worn. While little is known of the origins of the mask prior to Nihilus' manipulation of it for his own designs, one can only assume that it was chosen for it's durability and practical size.
A distinct difference between the mask in Aion's possession and the one known to have belonged to Darth Nihilus himself, is a heavy application of his own Dark Side energy and Sith Alchemy; both imposed upon the mask by his extensive efforts to commune with the mask.
