The battle on Tython had come to an end. The Galactic Alliance had been defeated on the intergalactic mainstage by a dark power that had seemingly emerged from nowhere. Amidst the chaos, the Lonestar 1 light frieghter and it's passengers flead to safety. The droid crew of the ship piloted it to Sellia II, where the local Jedi Temple had become a safe haven for refugees and the ingured following Enclave attacks on Ryloth and GA allied space. The ship would set down on the main landing platform of the Jedi Praxeum, it's lift door lowering for those onboard to exit and make their way towards more intensive care.

"Alright, everyone out!" Pyf ordered, the spark droid taking charge. "Get yourselves inside and onto medical beds pronto!"

One friend was already waiting for them there. Loomi had not been on Tython. With the news of the attack and a message from her friends aboard the Lonestar 1, she flew her starfighter to meet them here with haste. She probably got here hours before them, and was anxiously waiting for their arrival. The Godoan hustled her way out onto the landing platform, a concerned look about her and distress in her aura.

"Golly, I'm so sorry!" she frantically apologized. "I-I should have been there with you all!"

It wouldn't have changed anything, but she couldn't help but wonder if she could have saved them from getting hurt even worse than they had been. Especially Braze. She probably wouldn't get past her irrational guilt any time soon.

But they had wounds to heal. There wasn't time to wait around anymore.

Aris idly touched at his ears. Braze had helped to heal one so he could at least hear, but there was still some ringing in his head. And one was still completely quiet, asides from the ringing. It'd heal, eventually. He was already healing at an alarmingly fast rate all things considered. He blinked in surprise as Loomi was there to greet them once they stepped off, though.

And smiled, just a little. He gave a small wave, but he had a feeling she was going to be rushing to Braze first.

Zaiya approached Aris Noble Aris Noble from behind but made sure to stay close to Braze Braze as well. She felt distressed for both of them, especially Braze, who now had both arms in need of healing. Despite their efforts in the medbay, Zaiya wasn't skilled in medicine, and Aris couldn't hear too well with one, while the other seemed to have some issues still. At least it appeared that it could be rectified and his hearing saved. That's what mattered. Thankfully, they were able to communicate a little better now but he would need additional care. The tall guardian who came with the ship with Pyf also tried to assist with helping Braze, but overall, Zaiya felt pretty useless.

All she could do was be attentive to both Braze and Aris's needs and offer water or food. She briefly considered making something to eat, but they assured her it wasn't necessary. Useless. That's how she felt.

Why didn't I learn basic medical care? Zaiya chided herself, gnawing her lower lip as she intertwined her fingers to keep them from fidgeting. She didn't want to hover or cling unnecessarily, fearing she might annoy Braze or Aris with her constant need to comfort and seek reassurance.

Her colors dampened to a muted pewter shade as she caught sight of Loomi Loomi , who immediately began apologizing. Unsure what to say or do, Zaiya stepped aside to allow Loomi to see Braze, knowing he would need the immediate medical attention.

Braze disembarked with a sour expression on his features. Today had not been a good day, but his expression softened when he saw Loomi, and he was momentarily brightened by her presence. He was in pain and was certain that Aris was possibly suffering as well. He didn't have the energy to argue with Pyf either, so he was sort of just on autopilot to do as requested. He didn't seem inclined to speak at the moment, seemingly having fallen into a pensive, contemplative state where talking required more thought. Still, he shifted those somber jade-green eyes to Loomi and managed to say, "It's okay..."

Loomi was met with very little words. They all seemed... shaken. Exhausted. The Godoan gave a pout before she promptly went between all of them, giving each of them a hug. Starting with Aris, followed by Braze, though it was much softer as she recognized his pain, and ending with Zaiya. She'd then step back, letting out a sigh.

"I'm glad you guys are okay," Loomi sighed. "I... we should get you inside."

Pyf let out a mechanical whirr, turning to retreat back into the Lonestar 1.

"Keep an eye on them, kid," he ordered. "I need to make a transmission back to the Temple to inform them on the current situation. You... you all did good. You aren't dead. With Sith, that's a win. Even if you don't recognize it."

And with that the droid was gone. Loomi shifted a little as she stood, folding her hands behind her back.

"Right..." she muttered.

She felt awful. The Godoan really should have been there. It wasn't right that her friends had suffered and she was safe and sound. It hardly mattered that these thoughts were irrational, they were real. Loomi did feel as though she had abandoned them, even as she knew the truth that her presence would have changed nothing.

Perhaps some things couldn't be helped.

Everyone was in low spirits. Aris glanced about the other three, his expression oddly calm. He couldn't hear all the words being said, but they were all.. Miserable. He didn't like seeing them all miserable. He stepped over to Zaiya, first, just gently bumping her shoulder with his own. He only caught half of what Pyf had said, but they were right.

"We should eat."

He spoke aloud, probably louder than he should but it was hard to tell just how loud he was with all the ringing.

"I'll make something."

Which was a terrible thing for him to offer, since he was possibly one of the worst cooks in the Temple.

It was clear Braze Braze was affected by everything, and Loomi Loomi was too. Even if Pyf said they did best against a Sith - what did that even mean? - it still felt... off. There was just so much to still process.

The gentle nudge on her shoulder drew Zaiya's attention to Aris Noble Aris Noble . He mentioned the idea of cooking so they could eat, and immediately, Zaiya's mind raced at the thought that she could finally do something. The Lovalla teen immediately reached out for Aris's hand to catch his attention since he still couldn't fully hear with both ears.

"I'll help you, Aris," Zaiya offered, squeezing his hand. He knew from when they first met that food was a way that she showed affection and felt connected, and in light of everything, it was something she could at least assist with.

"May I come with you?"

Braze had intended to find a nice medical bed to rest on. He looked at Aris and squinted briefly. "Aris, please come sit down with me. Don't worry about food right now," he tried to coax the other to take a breather. They both still needed real treatment, after all. He figured he was just shaken up and wanted to find a displacement activity to help settle his nerves. He looked at Loomi and offered a weak smile. " Maybe... you could bring us something nice to eat pretty please Loomi?"

" Maybe... you could bring us something nice to eat pretty please Loomi?"

"Of course," Loomi nodded, mustering a smile.

She'd turn her attention to Zaiya and Aris, giving a look of concern. Even if they were not as badly injured, Loomi knew the kind of hell they had no doubt experienced. They needed to rest, even if they didn't recognize it. The Godoan was determined to make sure that they got the time to recover that they needed.

"Please take it easy," she insisted. "You guys have a lot you need to process. Let me handle the little stuff for now. It will all be okay, I promise."

And with that she set off to procure the three a meal.

"Cooking helps process."

Aris again only caught half of what was said, but he could see the emotions in them. Especially Zaiya. He looked to her, smiled a little as he squeezed her hand. It wasn't a matter of being okay enough to cook; at least for her it was a matter of cooking to be okay. Asides, this wasn't something he didn't know how to fully deal with this time.

The first time he had to kill someone he didn't want to do anything. This wasn't like that, but he knew the weight they all felt.

"You all are miserable. Take a moment to feel better, we can go over it all in a bit." He wasn't backing down. Right now, they needed something to help handle this. Comfort food. He could make that, right? Probably. Honestly, no, no he could not, but Aris certainly believed in himself.

"Everything is okay." He wasn't having trouble processing, he didn't feel a need to hide away. They had survived, in a way without permanent injuries. Of all of them, he was possibly the most at ease.

While Braze Braze recommended that Loomi Loomi make them a meal and Aris Noble Aris Noble and Zaiya rest, the Epicanthix teen understood Zaiya better. She really needed to do something for them to help them process what had occurred. Loomi had already left, but perhaps they could get it done faster between the three of them.

"I won't be able to sit still, not now," Zaiya confirmed, zeroing in on the warmth of Aris's hand and the reassurance he was providing her by validating her need to provide.

"I can at least help and make sure you are all fed and keep my hands busy." Braze was also suffering from the newly broken hand and the other one that had been in a brace. "We can probably get it done quickly depending on what we find."

Aris was right, though; everything was okay. None of them had died. Had to think of the positive. "Right, okay, let's go, Aris. We can help Loomi too." at least that way they would know where things were at. If anything, Loomi could also come back and keep Braze company.

"Okay..." Braze murmured, his voice a mere whisper of fatigue. He was thoroughly tired and exhausted, drained from the day's events. Arguing seemed pointless now. They were finally safe, and perhaps that was all that mattered. Yet, a part of him lingered on the what-ifs, though he quickly dismissed these thoughts. He supposed it didn't really matter anymore.

With a heavy sigh, he began to distance himself from the others, seeking solitude as he settled down. Methodically, he shifted to kick off his boots, the movements slow and labored. Each piece of clothing felt like a burden, and he used his mouth and hands to awkwardly undo the straps and fastenings of his gear, setting them aside with a dull thud at the foot of the medical bed or carelessly onto the floor.

Finally free from the constraints of his attire, he climbed onto the bed, the simple act feeling like an immense effort. He lay back, allowing the cool sheets to comfort his weary body. Curling onto his left side, he drew his right hand close to his chest, clutching it gently as if holding onto the day's last vestige of control. In this small, confined space, Braze allowed himself a moment to just be. Could just relax and feel it all, the exhaustion that permeated his bones and the quiet stirrings of relief at being safe—at least for now.

Loomi, meanwhile, had gotten to cooking. The kitchen at the temple had found itself rather vacant, so she was free to cook as she saw fit. She tried her best to think about things that would be good for recovery. Soup was a big one. The Godoan found herself a cream base and broth, getting it started on the stove before she began to look through the vegetables they had available. Anything that had important vitamins contained within found itself being diced up and suateed.

This, at the very least, certainly gave her some time to think. It was a strange time. Loomi herself had never been to Tython, but she understood the signifigance well enough. It was an important location for the Jedi, and of course it hadn't been attacked since the Second Great Hyperspace War, which was well before her time with the Order. It was admittedly rather scary to think about, especially with how many lives would be caught up in this new conflict... Especially that of her friends. It was a new drive to be present to protect her new family. She didn't want to be stuck observing the aftermath every time a battle happened. Loomi wanted to be there to keep people safe.

She decided to push her thinking to the back of her mind. It was probably for the best that she just focused on cooking for the time being. Thinking would only make her more anxious.

xiqfVVX.png

Aris paused as he watched Braze step away. He wasn't sure what he could do to help him right now, so.. He should focus on what he could. Which was help cook. He nodded once to Zaiya as they made their way into the kitchen. Loomi seemed so in her own world she hadn't realized Aris and Zaiya were there at first, though maybe that was for the best?

There was a lot of emotions here he wasn't sure how to navigate.

Instead he cleared his throat.

"What are we making?"

Zaiya came in behind Aris Noble Aris Noble , and thankfully, he already asked Loomi Loomi what she wanted to make. Hopefully they wouldn't startle her. Zaiya gave a soft smile, already feeling a little more comforted by the familiar scents of a kitchen, spices, and food. From the looks of the cream base the Godoan selected, and the veggies she was sorting through, it would be perhaps some sort of soup, stew, or cooked recipe.

"I can wash and chop veggies if you like, or do you need me to do anything else?" Zaiya offered, thinking that keeping her hands busy would be best. Zaiya hoped Braze Braze was resting. She’ll check on him shortly just to make sure.

She had yet to realize that Aris wasn't the best cook and that chopping vegetables might be better suited for him.

Braze winced as the medic carefully adjusted the splint around his wrist. The pain dulled to a manageable ache as the splint secured his injury. With a nod of gratitude to the medic, he settled back onto the cot, his mind drifting to his saber.

Unable to use his hands, Braze focused his attention on the weapon resting beside him. With a concentrated effort, he tapped into his telekinetic abilities, guiding the saber to open. With a soft hum, the saber's components shifted, revealing the pulsating red crystal within.

As the saber closed back up, Braze levitated the crimson crystal with his mind, feeling its energy resonate with his own. With each passing moment, he sought to establish a deeper connection, eager to understand what had happened to cause it to bleed.

"What are we making?"

Loomi was surprised to see Aris and Zaiya joining her. She gave a faint smile. It was clear that they wanted to help. The Godoan had really wanted them to rest, but they seemed in decent shape all things considered. Perhaps this was just their way of taking their mind off of what happened. She didn't want to deny them that.

"Soup," she stated. "Broth based. I tried to find vegetables that had good minerals for injury recovery too. I hope these are okay."

"I can wash and chop veggies if you like, or do you need me to do anything else?

"That would be perfect," Loomi beamed. "Thank you, Zaiya."

The Godoan then made her way to another cupboard, looking through it's contents.

"It may be easier to eat with bread," she mused to herself outloud. "Where would they keep it..."

xiqfVVX.png

"Pantry, left shelf. I can gather them."

He made his way right for the Pantry as he spoke, nodding to himself mostly. He knew he wasn't the best of cooks, so it was good to know there would be the other two to help. Gathering supplies, though? That he could do. And quickly. He only paused once he was inside of the pantry, and only because his hearing had suddenly gone mute. Aris blinked in surprise as all he could hear was a light ringing. Nothing else. Not his breathing, not his heartbeat. Nothing as he hesitated to pick up the bread. He took a breath before he did, and carefully made his way back into the room to set it down and just.. Waited. Waited for the ringing to pass.

"Okay, I'll do that." Relief washed over her expression in muted turquoise tones. She went to pick out the vegetables that would suit a broth-based soup. This was familiar to her. Zaiya enjoyed making soups and stews. Following where Loomi Loomi was going through the veggies, the Lovalla teen took over.

"And no problem, I am happy to help." she added, flashing a brief encouraging smile. Taking a few tubers, Rodian chard, onions, carrots, and celery, Zaiya placed them on a dish she found and went to wash them. While she did so, she glanced over at Aris Noble Aris Noble .

Concern lit her face as she saw him stand perfectly still, her mottled spots melting into an ombre of soft dove greys flecked with yellow. Walking over towards him, she held the bowl between her hand and hip, and with her free hand, she gently placed it upon Aris' bicep. A subtle resonance of concern would brush against the Epicanthix, Zaiya turning to catch his expression knowing he couldn't hear very well with his other ear, "Aris? Are you okay?"
