Alban folded his arms casually, almost disinterested, as the Chancellor proclaimed her verdict. Although technically none of the Senators had voted on the matter, it remained a technicality. The Senate body was near unanimous in its support for at the very least, intervention, if not immediate open warfare. Not that Alban was disappointed by the fact. On the contrary, it pleased him. Peace did not suit Roble Manufacturing's profits, and revving up the war machine meant that more credits would be flowing to Fondor.

Discreetly he made a mental note to slip a recording of the meeting and any relevant information to the Mandalorians on the next components shipment out of the core. Not that information security was exactly airtight in the Alliance, but it would serve his interests to incite the conflict even further. Knowing the Mandalorians, if they were to discover prematurely that the Alliance was preparing for war, then it would easily goad the two powers into direct conflict, possibilities of peace be damned. And providing the information would only curry more favor with the Mandalorians, who would also conveniently be in need of a much greater supply of war material. War material that Roble Manufacturing would be more than happy to provide, at the right cost of course.

Alban smiled, satisfied. Credits made the galaxy go round.

Rens Ahim finally sat down in the pod's seat, covering his mouth. Closing his eyes the senator of Bestine bowed his head and sighed heavily. Further tragedy awaited the galaxy and there was nothing to prevent it.

Considering how public this session is, the Enclave will likely know of their intentions just by watching the live broadcast of this gathering on the holonet. They will condemn it as the Alliance ’betraying’ them and 'interfering with their affairs’. In addition to their spat with the Jedi. But frankly it didn't matter in the Mon Calamari’s point of view.

The reports about their recent actions made it clear to him that no matter what the Alliance or the Jedi do, conflict with the Enclave Mandalorians would happen sooner or later. The Galactic Alliance was the victorious superpower of the last war and that made it a challenge for war-worshiping crusaders to take on, regardless of the consequences.

Opening his eyes Rens whispered in resignation. "Force help us all…"

If looks could kill.

Well, there were Force powers that could do that. Once, he'd actually been interested in learning how such abilities worked. This was the Galactic Alliance Senate in all it's glory. Ignoring the people who needed help in favor of trying to point blame and take control. He wanted to say something more about this, maybe even act. Thankfully, it wasn't the only opinion. Just one of the loudest.

Auteme brought the issue to a close, and for that he bit his tongue.

This was going to be a long, long war.

- @Senators -

Auteme Auteme 's decision wasn't everything Alicio could have hoped for. But it was pretty damn close, and at least it wasn't offering his wife to the Mandalorians on a silver platter.

The Alderaanian senator slowly let his pod drift from the center, relocking into the side of the hall as he listened intently to the Chancellor's speech. While Mandalorian culture was not his area of expertise, he was certain that their formal warning would be looked at in contempt. But her continued assurances that if it was refuted, they would mobilize, brought a noticeable uptick to his features.

He'd been concerned that Dracken Pryce Dracken Pryce 's proposal to take the decision away from the Senate entirely would allow the motion to die behind closed doors. Now that a decision was made here, there was no going back.

The Count managed to glance Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble 's way, noting the anger still seething from the large man. He pursed his lips, before attempting to send a telepathic message Kahlil's way, assuming he could get through the Jedi's impenetrable mental barrier.

<Enjoying politics?> He smiled sympathetically. <This is what winning feels like.>

Imagine how it feels to lose, he didn't say.
