Atrium Garden and Training Grounds

With the construction of the New Order Jedi Temple, there was another construction project in the works deep underground, within the lichen gardens and biomes.

This was the Sullust Jedi Academy. While the Jedi Academy would work in conjunction with the New Jedi Order, the Jedi Academy was an area to provide all professors and students within the House network to be able to study, teach, and learn.

Moderate sized, this academy would utilize the deep volcanic hotsprings and slow moving volcanic eruptions to create natural forges. Taking inspiration from the ancient Jedaii Temple of Vur Tepe, House Eglarest came to be. While it catered to various areas,, it’s specialty lay in being a place of study where students learned the ways of the Force through metallurgy and the construction of tools and weapons.

Under the guidance of the council of Masters and through the advisement of several alchemists and metallurgists, the establishment of a massive brick and stone temple was set on the lip of the active underground caldera. A monument to the art of metallurgy, the students of the new Eglarest Jedi House Academy would craft their weapons in the fires of the Sullust volcano; the bottom of the temple formed an interior dome which harnessed the heat from the flowing lava to power the forges.

Within the halls of Eglarest, the House Masters would focus on practical applications; focusing on the ways in which the Force could be applied to create or improve physical things. The House Masters served as stewards of the facility and oversaw its functions, instructed students in the finer points of craftsmanship and encouraged new discoveries.

It was for this very reason that the halls of the new House were open to all this fine eve to promote not only the Jedi Academy’s unveiling, but to promote amicable relations with all the Jedi Orders and Fringe Force groups. Those of the Galactic Alliance were invited, and here all who were interested in learning were welcomed to mingle and build connections and a network.

Having no official ties to any Jedi Order, it allowed any gifted in the Force to find a master that would be best suited for their area of study. Whether it be through the Academy, the Galactic Alliance, or through any of the Jedi Orders the Jedi Academy Network provides.

A vast garden would be set in the middle of the temple, protected by a dome of heat resistant solarium glassteel from Arceneau Trade Company, and utilizing the geothermal energy designs by Salacia Consolidated through [member="Judah Dashiell"]. There was more to the temple, but that would come later. For now, it was a time of introduction and perhaps even learning.

Jedi.

Joy.

There was one group that Coren forbid Kaia from dealing with when he launched her on the Odyssey, and that was the Sith. They were a waste of time and space. Part of him wished he had done the same to the Jedi. But… she found herself linked up with a small Covenant and in the Galactic Alliance. It couldn’t be so bad, then, could it? He shook his head. What he needed to do was just get over that.

But he wasn’t written that way. The Jedi had to prove it, and that was on a person-by-person basis. He was fairly sure that [member="Chevu Visz"] and [member="Spark Finn"], two people he spent an overwhelming majority of his time with would be sick of his ramblings about the Holocron Thumping Force Religions. Someone like [member="Aeron Kreelan"] though, that would be, perhaps, another story. Not that it mattered. He was here, he was going to shake babies and kiss hands make his appearance, and get in good with some of the Marshals.

He heard Talith was a hard-ass, and he wanted to see where he, and his cohorts of Non-Jedi could step the bounds and where they would get slapped. Who was here? He was.

Military uniformed out, show that the military allowed for Force users, Jedi, Non-Jedi, why stick in your box?

It was warm down in the Academy wing, and Jacen had spent the morning putting his body through its paces. Whilst he’d picked up some knocks on the last few missions and his body was starting to age, his minor abilities to promote healing had given him a short recovery. Now it was time to get back into his regime. There could be no apathy when it came to the Sith. They had to be focussed now, every preparation made, or as soon as the inevitable Sith tide came, all would be lost.

Given that he’d barely showered off the sweat, he was wearing a simple grey short sleeved shirt and loose trousers. The muted colours and loose fabric marked him as a Jedi, if the lightsaber dangling from his belt did not.

He walked alongside another of the students of the New Jedi Order, a much younger man he’d been training with. Being pushed on by someone ten years his junior was a good way to avoid slacking.

“You know, if they’re going to build a temple garden on the side of a volcano, they could at least add a few saunas or hot tubs,” he said casually.

Audrey Starchaser was told that she would find him here, at the unveiling of the Sullust Jedi Academy. Her Uncle Coren. Family! Audrey had been craving it, along with a chance to do something big, like join the Galactic Alliance, and use her powers to drive back the Dark Side. Her natural knack for the Force made her the odd Starchaser out, and she yearned to put those skills to good use. Right now the only thing they were good for was bragging rights over her younger sister.

The artsy Starchaser was excited to be reunited with Coren, a man she’d only met once or twice during the rare instances where her relatives’ stars’ collided. Her cousin Kaia was lurking around here on Sullust, too, WTF face on full display. Audrey wondered if Kinsey would be attending the unveiling as well. Since Dax left, she figured that her younger sister might need her around more often. The last she heard, Kinsey had gone missing, news which disturbed her to her core. However, Audrey was an eternal optimist, and like all good optimists, decided to hope for the best. It was more likely that Kinsey had just hopped on a shuttle to go explore some ancient ruins or go joyriding on swoop bikes somewhere. She was much more of a thrill-seeker than her older sister.

Audrey couldn’t wait to see all of the Academy’s purported splendors, like the volcano forge! And hotsprings! Could they swim in them, too? Dressed in a simple, navy blue shift dress, Audrey plopped down crossed-legged on the ground in the temple garden and craned her neck, looking around for anyone with Starchaser blue eyes.

He couldn't stay long. There was a disturbance on the fringe of the galaxy; a ripple that steadily flowed inward. With it came an entirely new threat, one Cyril had thought to be little more than legend. If all went well on his journey, it would remain just so. Still recovering from wounds received battling the Final Order, the Jedi Master had decided to pay this place a visit before dropping off the face of the galaxy. It was pleasing to see the Jedi making a comeback -- it served to light the spark of a flicker of hope that had long since gone out within him.

The first thing that had drawn his attention was the volcano. Not for any particularly spiritual reasons -- Cyril just thought it was pretty cool. You had to be a kid now and then. He'd paid it a short visit, reveled in its magnificence, and moved on to the gardens. He had plans to return and reforge his mother's lightsaber there, but that would have to wait for another time.

"All of this will burn, in time," the voice rumbled, "All things do when our kind are involved. We've grown patient."

The content smile Cyril had worn evaporated. There was no body to the voice. Vulcanus often chose not to opt for a corporeal form -- corporeal to the man he tormented, anyway. The Jedi Master did not offer a response. That did not keep the shade from continuing its line of thought.

"This is no home for us. Our ties to this way of life have been severed with death of the mother," it chuckled, "Hypocrites, zealots, children. There is something greater; one you have denied for some time. You know of what I speak. Turn back the clock."

And then it was gone. Whatever that artifact had done unlocked the Sith Lord's spirit. It seemed Cyril was to be haunted by it for all eternity. Such was the price to be paid for misdeeds long passed.

With a heavy sigh, he fell back against one of the wall, and let his gaze drift over the garden. There were many faces, few of which he recognized. He adopted a warm smile anyway -- an effort to keep up, but it gave off some air of friendliness. That was the whole point of coming here after all, to meet those he might fight alongside in the future.

Veino strode down into the Jedi Academy place, deep below the surface. Whew, was it warm. Uncomfortably warm, in fact. He adjusted his jacket and slung it over his shoulder. He would definitely not be needing that here. Even the shirt was almost too much, but this was not the situation to go wandering around without a shirt on. This was a somewhat special occasion. That and he had responsibilities to represent various organizations in a professional manner.

The forges were certainly interesting. He knew a few Jensaarai who would love to come visit the place and see the forges. Some could probably give them advice and suggestions, but very few ever left Susefvi. It was their home for nearly all of them, after all. Most preferred to stay there. Of course, some younger ones were leaving and visiting other places. He'd even heard a few young apprentices were going to be arriving here today to do some studying and learning. The Council was still leery of the whole thing, but they had given permission. He was to meet them later on and give them a tour, at least as best as he could, anyways.

Gardens first. Those were where he belonged. As he passed through, he noted many faces, most of which he did not yet recognize, but would in time. He did know [member="Cyril Grayson"] though. Veino paused and frowned slightly. The man was smiling, but that was not what Veino was feeling from the man. Rather, there was something else.

"Master Grayson, you seem troubled. Is something wrong?"

It was not a surprise to anyone that Vaet was sitting on the grass of the garden. Whilst others might have relished the chance of interacting with peers and perhaps even find a Master to be taught by… the Vaetling preferred to simply meditate underneath the big tree and why wouldn’t he?

The tree provided an amicable shade, the grass tickled the soles of his feet and made for a soft sitting ground, and it was here amidst the pocket of life that he felt truly at home.

The only place so far that reminded him of his old home since he came here.

At some point Vaet would have to get used to the cold starships, the urban playgrounds that most planets housed and the thick crowds of sentients that permeated through them. But as much as he believed in the Force and was willing to defend innocents? In his downtime he relished some time to simply be.

His shoto was resting silently in the air before him. With his eyes closed he was attempting to dismantle the small lightsaber with the Force - a difficult task that he had failed to accomplish for a few weeks now, but he felt that he was slowly approaching a point of moderate success now.

Until the lightsaber fell into the grass again, his concentration broken as a single green leaf fell on his nose.

Or not, hmm.” Vaet mumbled. “Try this again, we shall.”

You seem troubled.

A familiar voice drew Cyril out of his stupor. He looked at the Jensaarai as if the man had told him the nearby sun had exploded. Who was this again? Yes, Veino, one of the men he'd worked with. A familiar face, one who's company Cyril had come to enjoy. His displeasure melted away at the man's greeting, though some of that anxiety remained. He needed to get himself under control, otherwise the Padawans might pick up on it. It was unfitting for a Jedi Master to be under this kind of stress about such petty things -- if you could consider the ghost of a former Sith Lord petty.

"Please, Veino, just call me Cyril. We're friends, no need for titles," the smile he offered was genuine, "I'm just a bit worried about the time's ahead. We've built something here that can last. A home for people like us. Jedi, our allies, other denominations, we haven't had a place like this since before the war," he shook his head, "The Republic is falling. Those that remain are clinging to an ideal that has not worked, and the Sith will soon turn their attentions on us."

He turned to look the Jensaarai in the eye. Recently he'd grown to appreciate the Jensaarai mindset. It aligned with some of the thoughts Cyril had been struggling with for some time. Of course, he would never give up his oaths, and he'd always fancy himself a staunch supporter of the order.

"I worry that we won't be ready for them when the time comes. That this place will suffer the same fate as the temple on Coruscant." That I won't be ready for them. "I suppose I've grown into a bit of a pessimist lately, haven't I?" He chuckled.

Jsc

Disney's Princess
Roberts arrived to the Forge Temple in her casual brown attire. Her usual para-military mindset would be set aside today to mingle with the universes best-and-brightest mages. So, might as well dress to be plain. She didn't need to look like a Mandalorian Field Marshall here. Nobody to impress.

Per usual she stood up straight and tall. Chin held high and eyes bladed against the crowd. Too strong to be intimidated and too old to care. She was here to view the new Forge Temple and perhaps browse some of the craftsmen who would eventually fill these halls with trinkets, swords, and powerful amulets. It was interesting to note however, that this temple held few ties to Marshall Talith's NJO. The GA really was embracing this whole, do your own thing, ...thing. Which was nice. Even if we were going to be seeing multiple temples lying around now. That was fine. Better than one temple were everybody gossiped. I suppose good fences make for good neighbors. Or, something like that.

Karen looked about and noticed [member="Veino Garn"] talking with a stranger, [member="Cyril Grayson"] . Veino was an infamous Jensaari wanderer in many circles. Most of his kind live a remote and private life, away from the galactic circuits. Veino however was something of an enigma. A Knight Errant who took an interest in galactic politics. Very strange. Very unique. ...Mmm. Yes. Maybe she'd finally muster up the courage to talk to him today. See if all the intelligence reports she'd been reading about Jenassari Warriors were correct. The volcano could wait.

She approached the duo,

"Good afternoon gentlemen. Pardon the interruption but I couldn't help but feel the need to introduce myself. Karen Roberts. Commander of the RnR PMC. Neutral Master and associate of the Jedi Academy Network. At your service."

She gave a bow of her head and stood up straight. Never one to pander with formalities.

Sarge was not known for being a particularly verbose man, and as such social functions weren't known to fall into the list of events he would participate in. But without the Protectorate to bind his time and thought, he had a bit more leeway to take an actual first hand look at the rest of the galaxy. It was something he missed being able to do, well and true. He'd made a name for himself this way - showing up where he wasn't invited, making an impression, and then leaving.

And so he came into the temple in simple beskar armor designed for the midpoint between mobility and protection. An exoskeleton ran along his limbs, encasing the outside of his legs and arms in metal. A thick duster of terentetek hide was draped over his shoulders to cascade down his torso, hood pulled up to obscure the green of his facial visor. As ever, he went into this expecting no one to recognize him.

But he knew some of the individuals here. [member="Karen Roberts"] was a familiar woman, at least in passing, and he gave the subtlest nod of his head as he passed by before letting his gaze shift towards [member="Coren Starchaser"].

Sarge had gained his Force Sensitivity through the interference of the Elrood artifact through a process no one as yet understood, and in doing so, it had made his mind a virtual phrik wall of defense. Nothing got it, but nothing got out. His mind was unassailable, but so too could he not sally forth for mental assaults. It also had the unique side effect of making it near impossible for him to sense others through the Force, though he didn't know if it worked in the reverse.

That being said, he didn't need the Force to sense the man's distaste for his present company. That realization curled his lips into the faintest of smiles. His attention lingered a few moments longer than necessary before he lifted his chin, scanning the ceiling and surrounding area. What a curious location.

There was a lot of work to be done, and mainly it was seeing which of these Jedi were going to become Internal Affairs. Coren was getting… better about the whole dark side thing. Sure, his time in the Fringe had thrown him to using the dark side, but it was a means to an end. The same thing happened when he moved into the Sanctum. He was still a bit more aggressive, hell, he still was more aggressive with the Force, but it was less ‘drain the life from you’ and more ‘I’m going to stun you, absorb energy coming from you and blast you with the Force.’ He liked to get things done, the Force just made things more efficient.

He was a Starchaser which meant he wasn’t all that dangerous in the Force, but what he lacked up for in sheer ability capability, he more than made up for with a varied and exotic skillset. Time among the Aing-Tii helped him reconnect with gifts he had pre-carbonite nap, and while he still wasn’t to the full potential (he assumed) and that concerned him.

The Jedi, though, they concerned him a bit more. He knew what the Republic’s Jedi were like, all bark and no bite, he was hoping the Grand Marshal had better recruits. What this galaxy needed was Jedi who could handle the galaxy as it were, and fix it. Word was there was yet another Starchaser kicking around, apparently the Alliance was bringing them out of the wood work. He knew Kaia wasn’t going to be here, she was becoming more and more the Warden of the Sky proper, not that he knew the name, or occupation, but very similar to [member="Chloe Blake"].

#Fangirlling.

There were a few familiar faces for the man, and one included [member="Karen Roberts"], even if her hair was less blue, but that was a face he knew well, and could trust his life with. His wallet, well, the jury was still out on that. But he also felt the presence and gaze of a person he may have run into once, or twice, when picking up assignments from the Prex.

[member="Sarge Potteiger"]

What kind of deal did the Omega Pyre make with the Alliance to bring a name like that here?

[member="Cyril Grayson"]

Veino nodded as he listened to Cyril speak, biting his lip slightly in concentration. Those were all excellent worries and some he carried as well. Specifically, about Susefvi. Neither the Jensaarai nor the SDF had the capabilities to deter a One Sith assault or really any other assault from a major galactic power. He did notice the change in Cyril's mood as he had been speaking. That was a good part of being an empath. He could always tell how he was affecting people in his conversation. He considered how to respond and then just shrugged.

"Yeah, a little bit," Veino admitted with a nod, "But not even seers can be concrete with their predictions." He paused for a moment, remembering a prophecy concerning himself. Him and a metal being, locked in a fight to the death. That time had not yet come, however. "So all we can do is prepare the best we can and then take things as they come to the best of our ability." He shrugged again."The Force is our greatest ally and it will not abandon us when we need it."

He turned as he sensed another presence approach. [member="Karen Roberts"] grew closer, in plain brown. She had a military stance, although he didn't recognize her. He listened as she introduced herself. An affiliate of the Academy then. So, coworkers in a way. He nodded his head in greeting.

"I'm Veino Garn, sort of travel about doing things for people. Also done some instruction through the Academy," He paused for a moment, "What leads you here to Sullust?"

Quite a few Jedi had arrived in the garden. Some began to train, others to greet one another, and talk, well, Jedi business she supposed. There were military among them as well. Audrey was fresh off the Dawn Treader, and didn't even own any Padawan robes yet. Brown robes weren't really her thing, but from the looks of the Galactic Alliance so far, it didn't seem like a prerequisite.

All of sudden, Audrey sensed a familiar feeling in the Force. She knew instantly that it had to be another Starchaser. It was hard to describe, but they all felt the same. Then, she saw those clear blue pools. Starchaser eyes alert! Uncle Coren was here! She couldn't wait to catch up with him, and hear about all of his battles with the Sith and that horrible Sage Bane person with the snake arms. She was also dying to show him what she could do with the Force. Audrey was the one Starchaser who was naturally decent with the Force. Yeah, she was kind of an anomaly in the family. Audrey was just glad that her genetic quirk was Force-related and she wasn't like, born with six toes instead.

Coren was standing next to a guy with some serious-looking armor on him. She jumped straight up and scampered over to where he was, flinging herself at him in an overjoyed hug. She smiled at tank guy, too.

"Come give your favorite niece a hug!"

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Sarge Potteiger"]

Starchasers weren’t all that hard to find, he supposed. Blue eyes, a penchant for going their own way, a connection to a starship that was greater, almost exponentially to their connection to the Force. He was a bit shocked that Audrey was here though, really, he was still getting used to the fact that people who were children when he was knocked into the carbonite nap were so grown up. Kaia, Jared, Kinsey, Dax, Audrey. Thank the Force they weren’t all his. He was going to have to take care of that sometime.

When she came over, he couldn’t help but push the concept of [member="Sarge Potteiger"] from his mind as he was a bit whirlwinded by her running over. “Audrey, hey!” Right, yeah, not used to that. The whole people, and touching thing.

“How have you been? What brings you out here?”

[member="Audrey Starchaser"]

Sarge gave a slow blink as someone darted past him to grab at the man he'd been studying moments before, her words telling the weathered soldier just why she was so excited. The man gave a quiet noise of amusement at the display, fixating his visor upon the pair. Clasping his hands together in the small of his back, he eyes the pair with amusement, amusement hidden beneath his helmet.

Really, it was a creepy thing to have an armored man in a cloak just staring at you... but Sarge had always worn 'creepy' like a badge of honor.

He had more words for Veino. A thought that lay at the back of his mind: one that needed sharing. It would be for another time, it seemed, as Miss Roberts drew closer. He'd heard of the woman -- Naboo being in what was once Protectorate space opening it up to Protectorate stories. Cyril himself had not heard much -- only the name.

"Cyril Grayson, I serve the Order," he paused, "That's all really. Occasionally I sing, if the Padawans pay me well enough." He offered a thin smile, and nodded at Veino. It was only the proper thing to ask, and truth be told, Cyril was quite curious as to what anyone was doing in his place. Motivations of the many would help him form an opinion as to what the temple would come to represent.

[member="Veino Garn"], [member="Karen Roberts"]

Braith felt as though she were the odd one out here. Everyone gathered around, or at least the vast majority, were those that had some form of formal education in the force by some order or group and had been taught the difference between light and dark as a duality of the source of this power, rather than from the individual per circumstance. She was no Jedi, no member of some force cult or group that practiced some style or followed some mantra. Braith, quite simply, was. Perhaps she could relate to the shamans and witches of the outer regions, if only with those that had no structure and didn't worship the force itself. No, this wasn't her trying to shoehorn herself into someone else's perspective of the galaxy, she was trying to turn over a new leaf after she had met one very special Jedi master - though perhaps the Order which that woman belonged to was far more different than this one, but that suited the Alua'an. This was certainly no celebration, nothing fancy that required formal attire or dress, but Braith never could feel quite comfortable in those stuffy robes, so she wore silk pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Simmersilk, actually, but that wasn't something she really felt like advertising to the world at the moment. For now she would mingle, maybe talk a little - perhaps not. She wasn't entirely sociable with people she didn't know.

A man could have anything, If he was willing to sacrifice and Nulgath had sacrificed much. His position and dealings with One Sith was strictly limited, His only trusted friend murdered before his eyes and allies scattered to the wind... for now. There was always more to be done, right now was merely a grace period for himself at least. As Nulgath joined everyone in the garden he held a smirk. His brown cloaked garments shined slightly revealing metal studs in interesting patterns of design.

There was no doubt about Nulgaths presence in the force. It was indeed, Darker & more sinister. His skin held degraded look as was a norm for "his" kind. As the traitorous Sith Lord remained quiet as he approached [member="Braith Achlys"] from the side giving her a smile under his hood. The woman he had seen before at the Temple of Pain, It seems he was in the right place.

Within the Sith Lords mind Balthazar's ghost remained mocking his actions.
<< " Seeking aid of these fools will only lead to..Negative conclusions." >> Balthazar added within Nulgaths Psyche. But the ancient spirits comments were met with no response. Now was not the time for their sarcastic banter.

" Hmmm..." Nulgath pondered as he observed.

Jacen didn't know Sarge Potteiger at all, though familiar with the name of the war hero. The reason why he altered his course to meander up beside him, was simply for tactical reasons. He only had simple loose robes and a saber, a veteran soldier himself he was used to reliable blasters and some decent protection. So much for the hot springs he'd just heard about. His right hand clenched and unclenched repeatedly. Normally he had time to settle his mind before preparing himself for a conflict.

[member="Darth Mudrac"] stood out like a sore thumb. Even if Voidstalker wasn't the most sensitive Jedi, the flow of the Force was clearly affected by the dark presence. If that wasn't enough, the man's pallid flesh clearly marked him as Sith.

He tapped on Sarge's shoulder unceremoniously. "Hope that armour isn't decorative big man," he said, nodding in the direction of the man beside Braith. He scanned his surroundings for the reliable [member="Cyril Grayson"] trying to point his attention in the same direction with a look and gentle mental prod through the Force.

"Coren, are you armed?" he asked, keeping his expression amicable and his body language relaxed.

[member="Jacen Voidstalker"] [member="Darth Mudrac"]

There came a tap at his shoulder, the seasoned warrior turned to regard the man behind him. He blinked, sniffing faintly at the air. Sarge was unable to sense through the Force, but he'd been called a bloodhound in the past. A part of his past he'd been made to forget, he had a few hypertuned senses. Smell was one. He was, in many ways, a literal bloodhound. An alteration made to make him preternaturally good at his job. Inhaling deeply, he narrowed his gaze at the man.

He reeked of death, of back alley dealings and pride. Smell was a curious thing, because even the simple smell of flowers conjured up different emotion - for some, joy, and others, sorrow. It depended upon the flower as much as the person. But Sarge knew someone with a Dark bent when he saw them. Narrowing his eyes faintly, he didn't say a word to Jacen, just crossed the room with purposeful strides to look at the vaguely shorter and roughly similarly weighted individual.

Perhaps Sarge's smell was merely the adaptation of the Force to his inability to reach out with his mind. It didn't matter. What did matter was that anyone in this place would know what Mudrac was, and the predatory hunch to the soldier's shoulders said he wasn't above violence. Green visor regarding the apparent Sith for a few moments, a quiet voice speaks up, tone changed through modulation.

"You'd do best to leave."

That was not a comment. That was an order.
