STANDARD FEATURES
  • The Harpy-class is outfitted with all the features and facilities one would expect from a vessel of its size and purpose, among these:
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Harpies are outfitted with a SLAM drive and a Subdrive for rapid in-system repositioning. The former is not meant to be active in more than short bursts, while the latter is ill-suited for use in the heat of battle but ideal for quickly moving to another part of a system.
  • Harpies are outfitted with short-range pseudointerdictors intended primarily to lock down vessels attempting to microjump.
STRENGTHS
  • Punching Down: Harpies are purpose-built to shred entire formations of starfighters.
WEAKNESSES
  • Punching Down: Harpies perform poorly against frigates and abysmally against cruisers.
DESCRIPTION
Built in accordance with Globex's naval design philosophy, Harpies are meant to serve in modular detachments greater than the sum of their parts, perhaps the most common of which is
Tramps for fighter support, Harpies for screening, and Manticores for overwhelming firepower. Fully dedicated to its role as an escort, the Harpy performs magnificently against starfighters, especially swarms of poorly armoured TIE/LNs, Ashwings, or the like.

That said, no commander in their right mind would willingly pit a Harpy against anti-capital frigates, let alone cruisers.
