PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Various Force Traditions
  • Affiliation: Closed
  • Market Status: Closed-Market (Whoever builds/acquires one)
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Semi Unique
  • Material: Force Imbued Cortosis Weave Durasteel, Kyber crystal OR Synth Crystal, lightsaber components
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Hooked Double Bladed Lightsabers
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Heavy
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Extremely Unusual Lightsaber Design that is difficult to defend against and learn due to initially having no known living Master instructors. The user must literally re-invent the techniques used or find someone who has a slightly few more pieces of knowledge than they.
  • Force Imbued Cortosis Weave Durasteel Design enables large hilt to withstand lightsaber attacks
  • Can be customized to user's liking
  • Theoretically fantastic for defense
  • Interior Curve Emitters are dual phase.
  • Can be used to fight in tight spaces unlike other Double Bladed Lightsabers
STRENGTHS
  • UFO: The odd, bent nature of the design, combined with it's bizarre forked emitter scheme means absolutely no PC who obtains this knows how to use it. At least at first. But as they experiment and practice, finding out what works and what does not, they can essentially create a fighting style that has a chance to confuse Traditional and even Non Traditional Lightsaber Duelists. Simulations imply that the combinations the weapon might be capable of range from occasionally complex to fast and brutal curving slashes and spins utilizing occasionally feints and deception. Theoretically, it's large, curving Force Imbued Hilt Provides a wide area of defense
  • Surprise!: the Interior emitters (The smaller ones built under the larger ones in the images above), are dual phase, allowing for potentially lethal counterattacks at close range during parrying especially if on the defensive mostly
  • Modular: These weapons initially are constructed with just kyber or synth crystals in any color but can gradually completely kitted to the users liking
  • Tight Fit: The weapon can be used in tight spaces due to its curving, somewhat compact length
WEAKNESSES
  • Weight: The weight is much more significant than normal Lightsabers in weight, leading to it being used by those with great upper body strength
  • Gyroscopics: In addition, the awkward, U and forked shape nature of its blades affects the gyroscopic effect produced, leading to attacks having to be more pre determined and planned before striking, in order to judge how to properly compensate for the effect while swinging. This not only leads to slower attacks but more predictable attack pattern angles for those attacks the longer combat goes on against the weapon and the current limits of the users knowledge is exposed eventually negating the initial surprise and strangeness of the weapon unless the user grows truly skilled. The user must also be doubly careful when using the dual phase function on the interior emitters, as the increased gyroscopic effect at an awkward angle can cause them to lose control during defense and have the weapon slip out of their hand, leading to them being used often for only a split second
  • Blasters: Absolutely do not try to fight against blasters. You will screw up. This is strictly a weapon for fighting lightsaber users.
  • Reach: The default length of even it's longest blades are still shorter than that of a standard lightsaber
  • Force Voids: Will not function in Force Voids
  • Sonics: Sonic bold travel around the blade
  • Solid Ammo: Solid ammo splashes against the blades, potentially causing splash damage
  • Water: Shuts off in water without bifurcating cyclical ignition pulse tech
  • Learning Curve: A literal learning curve due to having to literally re-invent the techniques for it. Expect long, difficult study times
DESCRIPTION

A type of Lightsaber of which only two examples were ever recovered in the field initially, one with green blades and one with red synth blades, both tracing their origins to the systems ravaged by the Bryn'adul. One Photo leaking out on the Holonet by a careless Jedi researcher and within six months of the Bryn'adul being ended as a Galactic Power, schematics had already begin showing up on various holosites, and it wasn't long before recordings of young Force Users testing the weapon out with non lethal blades surfaced. Soon, patterns of success started to emerge (Combining the weapon with snippets of Makashi, Djem So and Niman seemed to yield better success than others). Six months after that, experimental training schools had started up to specifically explore the weapon's capability. The Hooked Double Bladed Lightsaber Is unique in that the path of its adoption did not start with it's techniques being codified in a Jedi or Sith Temple, but experimented and built from the ground up by independent teachers of the Force using modern social media to transmit discoveries and ideas, often done by practicing in their own homes. Nobody is a master yet, and the methods are constantly being refined but people are just counting the days until they hear of a notable Sith or Jedi not walking away from a fight with someone who figured one of these out...
