STRENGTHS
  • Complete Home: While cramped, the Reaper has everything Kivah needs to make it her home and base of operations.
WEAKNESSES
  • Glorified Shuttle: While upgraded, the ship is actually unimpressive by many metrics. Only two main guns, prefab open living quarters, tiny cargo hold, only ten short-term passengers.
DESCRIPTION
Tired of scrounging for a place to sleep and store her belongings as well as paying or bumming rides from place to place, Kivah decided a new ship would solve all her problems. Well, a used one according to her budget. She was in a dusty lot looking over light freighters when the dark pitch of a solar array caught her eye. With the aggressive angular slant of the ship and heavy cannons, it was love at first sight.

Over the next months Kivah sunk every credit she could into the repair and upgrading of her new shuttle, relying on mechanics and friendly pilots to overcome her lack of engineering and flight experience. For an Imperial shuttle, it already hosted quite generous living quarters for the crew so most of her attention was focused on personalizing the interior while upgrading the defensive and combat abilities of the ship as well as its operational longevity. To simplify things, many of the improvements were packaged upgrades that included options Kivah might have otherwise overlooked such as the water purifier, remote circuit, and even an automated co-pilot that could take control while she was asleep or watch over the ship for her. The laser cannons remained in their stock configuration while a swivel blaster was added for ground defense as well as anti-missile octets to defend against warheads. Kivah had considered adding mines or launchers of her own, but balked at the cost of installation and replacement munitions.

Internally, the Reaper stayed much the same. In the main bay the ten passenger seats were sold off and replaced with cheaper fold-down seats that allow more cargo room and the storage of racing swoop and bobber. Towards the ship’s rear a work-out machine was added so Kivah could stay active and blow off energy during transit. While in the living quarters the fresher was replaced with the more comfortable Priddy unit which also gave Kivah an expanded galley and bunk without using up too much more space. Where the previous bunks had been went a lounge and table for dining and work. Above her bed wood taken from the City-tree of her home Ran Dom Kunn was carefully paneled so when laying back she could see or reach out and touch the same wood grain of her childhood. A nostalgic comfort in the cool metal of her new home often far from the warmth of Cathar.
