- Description: The Scripture of the Hidden Maw, the holy text and code by which they live, is one of savagery. Slavery and murder are encouraged to believers, the weak are punished by the strong by right of triumph. The galaxy must be purged of weakness and be reforged in the fires of conquest to bring true freedom and spiritual nirvana. This is the code by which they all follow religiously, the only truth of the Brotherhood. Such is the word of the Heathen Priests, such is the word of the Scripture, that the Maw begat three divine aspects of itself from which to experience the galaxy.
The Avatar of War, proud and vain. Ambitious conqueror.
The Avatar of Death, cold and distant. Neutral, equal to all.
The Avatar of Rebirth, chainless and alive. Bringer of freedom.
It was these three that set upon themselves to correct the natural order and bring the galaxy to the Netherworld where it would be reborn in paradise. Their birth formed the cluster of black holes that would become known as the Maw Cluster, the 'Hidden Maw' itself represents Bogan, the Dark Side of the Force, from which this cult believes will provide the way to break all chains.
- Founders: Unknown, spontaneous outbreak of cultist activity and spreading beliefs likely caused from Brotherhood resurgence into the known galaxy and Holonet transmissions from the Unknown Regions bearing the Heathen Priests' dark sermons.
- Membership:
- Voluntary Induction: Anyone can be voluntarily initiated into the Dark Path's mysteries. Maw Death Cults generally any and all who are willing to forego all ties to their previous lives in lue of their new faith under the Hidden Maw. Basking in the dark sermons of the Heathen Priesthood, steps are placed out for the masses of the galaxy for the faithful to rise to new heights. A dark initiation ceremony is held by a local chapter 'Priest' in imitation of the true Heathen Priests' own dark ceremony for initiates into the Brotherhood of the Maw, said individual(s) are welcomed by the cultists into the cult proper as 'Children of the Maw'.
- Forceful Conversion: In brutal imitation of the Brotherhood proper, cultists kidnap, drug, torture, and reprogram unwilling initiates where voluntary induction is not possible. While a far cry from the brutal submission and indoctrination horrors at the hands of
Tu'teggacha
and his taskmasters, there is some small level of success in their work.

- The Maw Cluster: The sacred birth wound from which all darkness entered the Galaxy, it is from this wound that the Hidden Maw begat the three divine 'Avatars' to experience itself. This is where the holy texts of the Scripture of the Hidden Maw were supposedly 'found'.
- The Heathen Priesthood: As keepers of the Scripture, they are considered sacred among the Brotherhood and as instruments of their deities must be protected at all costs.

- 'The Final Dawn': The mystical new order that will rise to remake the galaxy anew into paradise eternal heralded by the Avatar of Rebirth after the galaxy has been purged.

- Dark arcane mysteries loaded in ritualistic fervor. To be among the 'Children of the Maw' is to listen to the will of the Hidden Maw spoken over the dark comm waves that carries the sermons of the vile Heathen Priests. Dark studies and corrupt rituals haunt even the most hardy of individuals, narcotics, torture, and indoctrination follow zealous fervor as those within the cult seek greater freedom from the tyranny of mundane life. The Dark Path offers an inverted spiritual nirvana to those who willingly submit themselves to it's qualms. Local cells offer whatever they can to bring in faithful stock, slowly turning the masses into zealous terrorists willing to abandon their old lives for the freedom of the Dark Path.

- Reputation: Outside of the Brotherhood of the Maw, the Dark Path has been labeled heretical and barbaric. Denizens of the Unknown Regions know all too well the type of zealot that follows such cruelty, to the rest of the galaxy at large it is relatively unknown and misunderstood. Some are attracted to the freedom such a path offers and the temptations of the Dark side of the Force it boasts. Pockets, cells, and gatherings of cultists who practice the Scripture of the Hidden Maw have emerged in the galaxy proper, hidden from the prying eyes of galactic governments who would persecute such barbarism. Encouraged by the dark words of the Heathen Priesthood, broadcasting their unholy sermons across the galaxy, many yearn for the chance at becoming an adherent before realizing when it's too late the monster they've become.
- As of recent events, many cells have openly revealed themselves. Committing arson, murder, vandalism, and ritual sacrifice, the growing infestation of Maw Death Cults has become a concern to many planetary governments where the cells reside.
- Curios:
- Nothing: The average member of the Maw Death Cults are mundane denizens of the galaxy twisted by the Dark Side's perverted song. They can look like anyone, be anyone.
- Headpieces: Cult Leaders within localized cells mimic the Heathen Priests with headpieces of their own and proclaim themselves 'priests'.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
What started as an isolated scattering of extremists enticed by the siren song of dark sermons that occasionally managed to reach beyond the borders of the Unknown Regions has quickly become a plague infestation that has sprouted up in multiple star systems throughout the galaxy. Ever since the Brotherhood of Maw's attack on Csilla, the excursion on Ilum, and now departure into known space to the Stygian Caldera, the word of the Dark Path has spread across the galaxy unbound. Pockets of cultists who practice the Scripture of the Hidden Maw have blown up across the galaxy, no longer totally concealed from the prying eyes of galactic governments who would persecute their wicked beliefs. Encouraged by the dark words of the Heathen Priesthood, ritual sacrifice and domestic terrorism have become common place in areas hit hardest by the Death Cults' influence.
