Resolved Money

Do you use credits to buy anything? Also, when rping, where do you get your weapons and ships from? Could someone just show up to a battle with 5000 battleships if they are roleplaying as some powerful king or something? It would make more sense if you had to buy items and ships so you couldn’t be OP, but how do you do that?

I am no mod or anything like that, but this is from what I gather as part of the rules, both spoken and unspoken

Credits are used to buy things in the RP ,But we don't really keep tract of how many credits we got, So when a player, faction, king, whatever buys something we keep it reasonable, no 5000 million battleships out of nowhere

The credit system is entirely voluntary.

There are rules as to what size and what kind of ship each individual and faction can put onto the field. Check out the factory rules for that.

Generally speaking only Major Factions can put large fleets and armies on the table.

Credits are not monitored and tracked, it is the honor system and keeping it quasi realistic. Major factions are the only groups able to field massive fleets and most wouldn't need that many ships. Just be fair with it and you should be good.

Or spend a lot of time building up your fictional income sources like Atrisia and Sasori has and you can have a swimsuit valued at the cost of a super star destroyer

The size of said capital ship also changes. For example, SSDs are more relegated to Major Factions, and they're only allowed a very low number to add to their roster, so not just anyone can be rolling around in a Super Star Destroyer. It's the same idea for super weapons and other more OP tech. The number is kept to a minimum so that people aren't just strolling up casually into public threads and blowing up planets.

Also as a side note, Minor Factions and indepenants can have fleets, but they are considerably smaller. I believe that the rule section of the Codex goes more into depth, but realistically a smaller faction or single player wouldn't be showing up with anything large. Maybe a handful of ships at most.

Credits can be both an honor system or an actual economic property depending on who you're writing with.

You earn a certain of "Underworld Credits" (UC) every time you post, and it shows on your account. Sometimes a trader on the market subforum might ask for UC payment, but most don't. Imo it's uses depend entirely on prior agreements, but can be fun to see them build up if you're a bounty hunter or do lots of business rp.

In general though, UC don't see much use and standard "Credits" are completely fictional
