So you've got yourself a zippy little ship - or maybe a hunk of junk. Here's the bad news: someone else has a better one. No stock ship is going to punch through a Sith blockade, win the Corellian Open, or fight off a pirate corvette. Here's the good news: whatever ship you've picked up, you can make it better. Starship modifications, legal and otherwise, are a long and proud tradition among dedicated spacers, and this guide has picked out and categorized just about every freighter-scale option the galaxy has to offer.

Arceneau Trade Company Solarium Glasteel
Blaster-resistant material that absorbs solar energy. Can be used like a solar sail to boost speed and provide power. Becomes more opaque to block out bright lights such as explosions, making it an ideal cockpit material.

ArmaTech Combat Systems Firestorm Isotope-5 Reactor
Stabilized Isotope-5 reactor which provides considerably more power than a hypermatter annihilator. Improved warmup speed and additional failsafes compared to the competitor; can be ejected in case of catastrophic rupture.

Emeritus Industries Mir Hypermatter Annihilation Reactor
Pretty standard hypermatter annihilator. A solid reactor with good power capacity.

Iron Crown Industries SG-ED-02 "Daedalus"
Extremely advanced, extremely expensive reactor system that draws zero point energy from subspace. Provides significantly more power than other types of reactor and requires very little fuel. Beware: can cause the entire ship to disintegrate if regulators are disabled.

Krayt Industries K1-Mk1-KD "Krayt Drive"
Standard antimatter reactor with a water-based failsafe that automatically ejects the core in case of a breach.

Shadow Tech Industries Crystal Energy Cell Reactor
Provides theoretically infinite energy without using fuel by firing a beam through alchemically-treated Force crystals. Can be detected by Force-users at a distance in spite of any stealth systems present on the host ship.

Ticon Defense Industries Isotope-5 Reactor
Extremely powerful reactor, providing significantly more power than a hypermatter annihilator. However, it's also volatile; if the Isotope-5 canisters are destabilized, the resulting explosion could rip the ship apart. The coolant must be replaced every 2 refueling cycles.


Aurora Industries Sossen-IV Ion Drive
Large and powerful engine providing greater than standard speed at less than standard power requirements.

Haven Shipyards TE-413 Fusial Engines
Stealth engine that makes the host vessel's fuel stream invisible to both sensors and visual scanning at the cost of speed.

Heofon Industries HI-AMD-1 Antimatter Drive
An engine half again as powerful as a standard ion engine, but prone to overheating and exploding if used for an extended time at high speed.

Kiribian Systems Armory Shawyer Drive
Highly advanced electromagnetic propulsion system that requires no fuel of its own and produces no trackable exhaust contrails. The very height of stealth engine technology, and able to be housed within a ship's superstructure so that it cannot be directly targeted.


Aurora Industries A-XX 200 Otherdrive
Acts as a sluggish class-12 hyperdrive, but is capable of making stable jumps to Otherspace. Disables all shipboard systems for the jump; they gradually come back online after the jump is complete.

Clan Rekali, Inc. Dha'karbakar Hyperdrive
Fairly swift class-1 hyperdrive capable of slipping under hyperspace early warning sensors. Usable only on craft less than 100m in size. If modified to a class-20 (which is basically stopped) hyperdrive, can even defeat reversion sensors. Premier stealth hyperdrive.

Lucerne Labs LLT-6 Zephyr Hyperdrive
Zippy class 0.8 hyperdrive equipped with a hyperwave intertia momentum sustainer to defeat interdiction bubbles, but more prone to overheating. Easy to fit into any ship between 20 and 600 meters in size. Class 10 backup.

MandalTech 500-series Hyperdrive
Extremely fast 0.6 hyperdrive equipped with a hyperwave intertia momentum sustainer to defeat interdiction bubbles. Works on craft between 30 and 400 meters in size. Large power requirement and no built-in backup.


Akure Executive Interstellar Malreaux Reactive Lacquer
Coating that protects starship hulls and components from acid damage. Designed to defeat Vjun's acid rain.

Arcrystal Astronautics NH-Faerie Cockpit Kit
Streamlined cockpit controls and monitors to enhance comfort and responsiveness for a pilot. Easy to modify to the pilot's preference.

Corellian Engineering Corporation J3 Hangar Kit
Adds a docking rig capable of supporting two craft on a rotating gyro to a freighter at the cost of a weapon hardpoint, reduced cargo space, and lowered speed and maneuverability.

Kotass Industries Turadium Plate
The strongest starship armor money can buy... if you have a lot of money. Durasteel-turadium alloy three times stronger than standard durasteel, capable of slowing down even lightsabers, at a prohibitive five times the standard cost.

Krayt Industries High-Impact Shock Absorbers
Landing gear with magnetic fluid impact dampers, allowing a ship to safely land at considerable speed. Must be replaced after use.

Mon Calamari Shipyards Ferrocarbon Condensed-Matter Composite Starship Frame System
Advanced strong but pliable alloy frame that gives a starship great joint strength, allowing it to survive massive kinetic punishment.

ReCal Manufacturing Structure Reinforcement Solution
Octagonal duraplast plates that protect against heat, cold, and sand while reinforcing structural integrity. Can sustain a single blaster impact before crumbling. Will not survive re-entry into an atmosphere if used externally.

ZyTech Cryonium Ablative Plating
Starship armor that costs 25-35% more than standard durasteel but weighs 8% less and is 20% less damaged by energy weapons (4% less by missiles). Damaged sections cannot be repaired, only replaced, and that's a very time-consuming process.


Akure Executive Interstellar QQ-1453-DR1 Solid Fuel/Ration Converter
Converts inorganic waste into engine or reactor power and organic waste into edible food paste and clean water. Purifies the waste, removing toxins and diseases. Can power itself with the intake. Aftermarket modules allow it to produce cloth in shapes such as clothing, tents, and bedrolls.

Corellian Engineering Corporation J9 Remote Command System
The J9a is a slave-rigging system that allows users to give basic remote commands to starships fitted with it. Can be disabled from aboard the ship.

Mon Calamari Shipyards MC1004 OPAL-class Communication Laser Projector
Multiple-channel laser communication device to allow ships to say in contact even when jamming devices are in effect. Allows for encoded audio-only transmissions to other ships equipped with the same system.

Mon Calamari Shipyards MC1005 Dolfin-class Communications Array
All-in-one communications array with holonet, subspace, and hyperwave transceivers plus holographic transmitters and encryption systems. Can support communication laser projectors. Boasts ion scrambles to disguise the source of its transmissions.

Hull paint capable of changing to four different pre-selected colors when hit with specific electronic frequencies. Can become temporarily splotchy if hit with ion weapons or EMPs.

Aurora Industries Phantasm Stygium Cloak
Expensive, highly-regulated device that makes a ship invisible to both the naked eye and sensors, which at most pick up a strange anomaly. Disables the host ship's sensors and communications and reduces speed. Cannot fire while cloaked, though firing and then re-cloaking is automatic.

Baktoid Fleet Ordnance XR-22 Sensor Distortion Array
Combination of sensor jammers and false data projectors that can make a ship appear two times larger or two times smaller than it really is. When equipped with a gravitic modulator, it is capable of fooling just about any sensors. Does not defeat simple visual scanning.

Lucerne Labs LLT-13 Blackest Night Stealth System
Full stealth conversion for a starship. Hull is built out of fiberplast implanted with reflec. Incorporates a gravitic modulator and a sensor mask. Together, these make the ship difficult to visually scan and invisible to most scanners. Extremely expensive, and consumes significant cargo space.

Mandal Hypernautics MH-EW17 Active Camouflage
Reflec polymer hull coating that bends light around a ship and masks it from sensors, with holoprojectors creating the illusion that the ship is transparent. When moving at high speed, however, the silhouette of the ship becomes visible. Also easily seen when firing weapons or in bad atmospheric weather. Fragile and easily disabled by a direct hit.

Phenex Industries Integrated Dampener Baffles
Modification to the end of a ship's sublight engines that cools the exhaust, making exhaust-based detection impossible. Also improves the ship's maneuverability significantly thanks to the addition of cross rudders on the sublight drive.

Santhe/Sienar Technologies WhisperDrive
Thrust-trace damper that makes engine emissions invisible to sensors. Also dampens engine noise, allowing ships to approach silently within an atmosphere. Depending on ship size, it may be necessary to slow down from top speed to achieve total stealth.

Silk Holdings, Inc. QQ-C1R-C3 Defensive Decoy Module
Launches small decoy "barrels" that use holoprojectors and electromagnetic profiles to fool mid and long range visual scans and sensors into seeing a chosen freighter or yacht-sized craft. Can also broadcast a dummy distress call appropriate to the fake ship. Self-destructs to prevent investigation if the ruse is discovered. Takes up 5 tonnes of cargo capacity and contains ten decoys.


ArmaTech Combat Systems ACS-803 Energy Siphon Cannon
Unusual weapon that steals energy from enemy shields to replenish the host vessel's shields at a transfer rate of about 33%. Big, bulky, and short-ranged. Extreme power requirements.

Mon Calamari Shipyards MC1011 Delphus.2-class Shield System
Complex, expensive triple-redundant shield system with many different types of protection.

Mon Calamari Shipyards MC1013 Delphus.3 Standard Mon Calamari Shielding
Even heavier, even more expensive, highly-restricted triple shield system, among the best available.

Silk Holdings, Inc. QQ-45H/310T Countermeasures Module
Anti-missile flare and chaff module that confuses the tracking systems of guided warheads and can detonate incoming missiles at a safe distance. Comes with a target lock warning and index of known warheads and recommended countermeasure deployment times. Requires five tonnes of cargo space. Comes with ten charges at purchase.

Silk Holdings, Inc. QQ-4U85 Tractor Shroud
Fibercord-attached explosive charge filled with trac-reflective debris, creating a 100m cloud when detonated that disrupts tractor beams trying to lock onto the host vessel. Consumes 10 tonnes of cargo space. Contains five charges at purchase.

Silk Holdings, Inc. QQ-543N/53R Cap Drain Module
Energy diffusion module that provides full protection against conner nets, EMP charges, and force lightning in addition to limited protection against ion cannons of a similar size to the host vessel. Cap drains burned out by ion fire must be replaced, which takes ten to fifteen minutes. One module takes up 5 tonnes of cargo space. Larger vessels need multiple modules.


Baktoid Fleet Ordnance XR-21 Sensor Jamming Array
Targeted active jamming device that scrambles enemy sensors and reduces the maximum range of enemy weapons by 1/4 per jammer aimed at the enemy ship. Disables the host ship's non-defensive weapons while active. Expensive and with high power requirements.

Eshan Industrial Corporation EWC-1 Electronic Warfare Center
Module that gives a skilled slicer the tools necessary to remotely hack into the systems of nearby enemy vessels.

Lucerne Labs LLT-1 Starflare-class Sensor Jammer
Small, cheap, durable jammer capable of confusing enemy automated targeting and making the host ship difficult to identify by blanketing the surrounding area in sensor static. However, this disables the host ship's sensors as well and ensures that the host ship will be detected, if not easily recognized. Good sensors can eventually burn through the static.

Lucerne Labs LLT-12 Erebus Jamming Array
Massive, high power cost jamming array that throws off enemy long-range fire and jams the targeting systems of nearby starfighters, gunships, and guided missiles. Useless against larger ships at close range.

Automated anti-starfighter quad guided missile launcher turret with a sophisticated targeting computer. Warheads are starfighter-grade proton torpedoes.

Aurora Industries AV-X06d "Splinter" Rotary Flak Gun
Fully automatic triple rotary flak cannon intended to create a constant cloud of flak to destroy enemy missiles and fighters. Guided by a built-in targeting computer. Can overheat or run out of ammo during very long engagements.

Aurora Industries AV-X07d "Nimbus" Hex Barrel Point Defense Laser
Six-barrel turreted point defense laser with a massive rate of fire, intended to lay down a cloud of interceptive fire for missiles and starfighters. Can achieve a massive defense screen through rapid fire, but sustained rapid fire overheats and warps the barrels.

Blood Hunter's Iron Works "SAF" Turret System
Automated rotary slugthrower turret that targets incoming missiles and enemy starfighters with powerful five-second bursts. Retracts to reload.

Lucerne Labs LLT-15 Sentinel-class Point Defense Emplacement
Quad autoblaster point defense cannon with three different firing modes, effective against missiles, fighters, and bombers.

Mon Calamari Shipyards KD12-1 "Interceptor" Defensive Battery
Multiple payload flak turret capable of firing flak, chaff, anti-shield plasma, micro proximity mines, and ion charges that can both repel incoming ion blasts and disable small enemy starcraft.

Mon Calamari Shipyards MC1001 Barracuda-class Point Defense Laser
Expensive, high power draw laser cannon with a rapid rate of fire and a fast-track mount. Capable of shooting down incoming missiles and torpedoes, engaging enemy starfighters, and providing a fire for effect wall against incoming kinetic attacks.


ArmaTech Industries ACS-804 Binary Fusion Ion Cannon
Ion cannon based on hypervelocity cannon technology. Fires twenty contained ion bolts in ten second bursts before a fifty second recharge, causing massive shield damage and electronic disruption but little harm to enemy hulls.

Starfighter-grade ion torpedo fitted to standard proton torpedo launchers. Narrow, focused EMP blast with a short range but intense effect.

Mandal Hypernautics Ram'or Assault Missile
Concussion missile that splits before impact, firing a spread of magnetized grenades that cling to hulls before exploding. Different types of grenade payload are available, from ion to plasma to radiation.

MK Industries HGL-13 Missile Rack
Easily attachable and detachable four-missile rack. Built-in sensors allow the pilot to choose which missile to fire.

Accurate, long-range infared ion seeker missile with a 15m blast radius. Extremely effective against shields and electronics.

Subach-Innes EMP Detonation Missile
Torpedo that explodes on impact or automatically at maximum range, creating a 100m EMP burst effective against shields and electronics.

Tenloss Corporation Creespa-class Concussion Missile
Magnetized thermite warhead that attaches to target hulls and burns super-hot, burning out shields and melting fist-sized holes in bulkheads to destructively vent atmosphere. Store well away from heat.


ArmaTech Industires ACS Railgun Series
Large, long-range, high-power railguns of several different configurations: armor-piercing, shield-cutter, and plasma, which is a balance between the two. Very low rate of fire and a high power requirement.

Aurora Industries AV-X05 "Comet" Turreted Rail Mass Driver
Extra high velocity mass driver turret with an unmatched firing arc. Gradually degrades due to strain on the triple rails.

Damorian Manufacturing Barbette
Defensive anti-starfighter railgun turret, accurate at close range. Wide firing arc and heavy punch, but significant power requirements.

Inquisition Industries Blaze Railgun
Rapid-fire short-range railgun with low power for each individual round. Four shots per second, effective against organics and light or medium armor.

Izanami Ironworks Itsumade-class Proton Cannon
Expensive, slow-firing cannon with shells more devastating than a proton torpedo. Extremely accurate, but bulky and with a high crew requirement.

Justice Yards Mauler Mass Driver Cannon
Massive, high-power slug cannon requiring 3-5 operators. Super-dense rounds vaporize to take down shields, then punch through layers of armor. Extremely slow rate of fire due to long reload times after each shell.

Lucerne Labs LLT-2 Seure-class Cannon
Small but deadly anti-armor cannon capable of ripping apart starfighters, dropships, and armored vehicles. Slow rate of fire due to the necessity of extreme heat regulators. Acts as a laser cannon once the solid ammunition is expended.

Ri'ess-Emeritus MMSW-X Omega Heavy Particle Rotary Cannon
Extremely rapid-fire solid ammo weapon with devastating effect on shields and ablative materials but low penetrative power. Shreds starfighters.

Subach-Innes Mace Kinetic Weapon
Unusual weapon that fires a turadium sabot to knock enemy ships off course without damaging them. Very low rate of fire.

Umbrella Interest ME-23 Dual Particle Cannon
Large, bulky beam weapon that does twice the damage a turbolaser would to shields but has little effect on armor.

Vanir Technologies Particle Gatling
Rotary particle cannon that fires in ten second bursts. Extremely deadly, but requires massive power draw; almost always built directly into the ship, linked to the reactor. Beware of instability; known to vaporize host ships, at times.
