- Phyllo-class corvettes are heavily outfitted with several powerful weapon systems, all provided through Aurora Industries' latest generation of starship weaponry. Ifrit Turbolasers, Shiva Ion Cannons, and Valefor Laser Cannons give the corvette an outsized damage output and a greater versatility in the type of damage it can unleashed against enemy forces. In addition, the craft is equipped with four ordnance launchers for increased firepower against enemy ships.
- Unlike other picket corvettes, the Phyllo also has a small hangar bay that can accommodate a starfighter, shuttle craft, or similarly sized craft that are 20 meters long or shorter. This allows the Phyllo to have some sort of fighter support even with it not having the space for a full hangar bay.
- Equipped with two Garuda Ion Drives and four Phoenix Ion Engines, the Phyllo-class corvette has impressive speeds for a corvette, easily keeping pace with some types of starfighters, or allowing to move swiftly around a battlefield with its
- Phyllo-class corvettes are outfitted with both a Syldra Communications Suite and a Divine Eyes Sensor and Electronics System, giving them several methods of secure communications and a large variety of sensors they can utilize while patrolling or coordinating with other allied forces.
- While the craft has an impressive armament, the size of the corvette and the power supply needed for the weapons and engine systems meant the ship could not support stronger defensive armor and shielding. The craft has to rely upon its Leviathan point defense emplacements and speeds to avoid enemy fire as a few hits would not doubt take out the corvette from heavier classed ships.
- If the preservation field capsule fails or the device is sabotaged within the Ramuh-II core, the crystal within sublimated immediately into its plasma state, reducing the power output of the device by roughly half until a new crystal capsule is installed. As each weapon on the ship is powered by such a power core, if this occurs in those weapons, it can reduce the damage output of the craft to a lower level.
- If the molecular furnaces within the Garuda Ion Drives and Phoenix Ion Engines are damaged or sabotaged, they will consume the engines and leave the Phyllo-class corvette dead in space and heavily damaged.
- If damage to the hull occurs, due to the Divine Eyes sensors being implanted within the hull of the corvette, it can create blind spots within the sensor coverage of the corvette.
Developed as part of Aurora Industries' Highwind Program, and the first dedicated warship to be produced by the program that would not be classified as a small craft, the Phyllo-class Picket Corvette is a first-generation concept for the company. The design team for the ship began by examining older such corvettes, such as the Bolt-III and Bolt-IV corvettes that had seen use during the Third Imperial Civil War and making note of the design choices of the observed ships. Once scans had been completed, the team began working on what they considered would be improvements upon the picket ships.
The level and number of armaments on what would become the Phyllo-class Picket Corvette were increased and made use of the latest generation of Aurora Industries' weapon technologies. Ifrit turbolasers, Shiva ion cannons, and Valefor laser cannons are the bulk of the corvette's weaponry, along with four variable ordnance launchers for increased damage capabilities against enemy ships. The corvette was also equipped with several Leviathan point defense emplacements for defense against enemy fighter craft and ordnance, but perhaps one of the notable inclusions by the Aurora team was the inclusion of a small single craft hangar bay for a ship 20 meters or smaller to give the craft some sort of dedicated fighter support or place for shuttles to land safely.
Two Garuda Ion Drives and four Phoenix Ion Engines were installed onto the corvette to give the ship impressive speeds, but more importantly, the Phyllo-class was installed with both a Syldra Communications Suite and the Divine Eyes Sensor system licensed from First United Astral Engineering. In the role of a picket ship, the Phyllo-class was expected to engage in long-range duties and to report back to other ships and allied formations, and including the two systems gave them a comprehensive sensor suite and multiple avenues of secure communications.
