  • Structure Name: Reveries
  • Classification: Bar/Recall lounge
  • Location: Denon, Seven Corners District, Cheeskar's end, on the boundary of twilight belt and sunlight zone.
  • Affiliation:
  • Accessibility:
    • The main area to the bar is just like any other bar, it has a bar fascia to encourage patrons in and is advertised for business.
    • Like most bars, door staff control access to ensure safe and legal running of the licensed premises.
    • Recall booths and private lounges only accessible by staff permission to patrons who have hired them.
  • Description:
    • The front of the bar is like many others, a bright fascia, and neon sign, large windows to tempt people in to the vibing place inside.
    • Once inside there is a main bar area consisting of a large and brightly lit bar, plenty of seating and a small dance floor which can double up as a stage for live entertainment. Along one wall is a four of well upholstered booths with large tables and a call button for waiting staff. Each booth seats about a dozen people and can be separated from the main bar by a lose curtain.
    • To the back of the bar are Two corridors, one leads down a series of stairs to staff areas and rest rooms. There is also an elevator that drops down to the lower floor. The other is a corridor that leads further into the building and wraps around.
    • Down one wall is a line of doors that lead in to the recall booths, these can only be used if hired out and staff monitor these rooms carefully.
    • In each of the recall booths are a pair of what look like dentist chairs, but with wires and dials attached to them betraying their digital purpose. They are hooked up to a booth where the technician can sit to run the show. This booth has blinds which are typically kept shut to allow the users to enjoy some privacy. CCTV allows monitoring of the rooms for safety reasons without the intrusion of a staff member spoiling the experience. There are two larger suites in a room above the corridor, reached by stairs at the end of the corridor, these have four and six chairs in respectively for either group events or rented out individually cheaper to guests who don't mind sharing.
    • Still further round is a pair of fine private suites, each has a half dozen tables and room to seat around 40 individuals. These are often hired out for private functions and can also be accessed by doors thar lead into a well maintained side alley owned by the bar, for people who do not wish to walk through the whole bar.

  • Main bar area - Open and unassuming the main bar is like many other bars providing a wide range of drinks including some top shelf liquors and a varied cocktail menu.
  • Downstairs - a series of restrooms run down one side and most of the other side of the corridor underneath the main bar. The first door however leads to a staff only area including stock rooms, staff rest facilities, offices and other assorted facilities required to run a typical bar.
  • Recall Booths - This is what makes Reveries what it is and is the heart of the bar. Regardless of the number of chairs in the specific room, the set up is the same. The whole process is run by an operator in a booth to one corner. The operator, for safety reasons must monitor the users on secure CCTV but their physical presence is kept discrete. This is particularly useful for the more intimate, or adult, memories. All of the rooms are soundproofed to further protect the privacy of users.

The vital signs of the users is also closely monitored via Lifescan Pro. Due to the highly realistic and sometimes visceral experiences on offer, there is risk of harm to users who are not used to such experiences and associated adrenaline spikes.

The chairs themselves are hardwired with the Cyberdive-64 systems.

The files played are genuine memories purchased from volunteers or even created by employees by recording their experiences. These memories are played right into the minds of the user and as such the experience is thoroughly real and affects the body as if the person was living them. With the exception of physical changes such as injury.

The memories are banded into levels that broadly indicate their intensity levels. It is expected that new customers try lower levels before moving on, to ensure that their bodies can handle the physiological stresses. This can be bypassed at the discretion of management, for example if a user can show evidence of previous experience. Or sometimes particularly wealthy clients may flex their wallet to obtain discretion.
    • Level 1:
      • Pleasant memories with loved ones
      • Trips to beautiful places around the galaxy
      • Notable historic events
      • Enjoyable personal experiences
    • Level 2
      • Sky diving
      • Pod racing
      • Extreme sports
      • Combat and military memories
      • Criminal undertakings
    • Level 3
      • Near death experiences
      • Real lightsaber combat memories
      • Other memories associated with extreme physiological stimulation.
    • Level X
      • Moment of death memories
      • Graphic violence

The final category is restricted to experienced and well known customers. Not only does this ensure safety of the users, but it also allows vetting and background checks to be carried out before access is granted to material that may trigger criminal suspicions.
  • Private Suites - The two private suites, advertised for their luxury styling and high levels of privacy are popular both for your average party group, but also as a place for business meetings where people can discuss sensitive information, but still enjoy the excellent service of Reveries. The rooms have several luxury booths along with several tables in the centre. It is designed to seat a maximum of 40 people comfortably, but the premises is licensed for upto 75 people per room for gatherings.

Due to smart designing through use of lighting and decor, the room never feels empty, even if only a few of the tables are filled, this gives them a warm and cozy atmosphere for small groups, or a vibrant party atmosphere for larger ones.

Both of the rooms have small private restroom facilities and small bar that can be configured to either self service, or staffed by the Reveries team.

There has been a minor refit since Mairéad took ownership, under the guidance of the Donna, to ensure the rooms meet the requirements as a Family meeting place if needed. This includes increased security measures and anti-snooping technology. The restrooms have also been upgraded to include a shower cubicle, just in case a guest needs to freshen up.

High - Compared to most bars and other civilian premises Reveries has a high level of privacy and security, but it is however opened to walk in patrons to the main bar.
  • Paid security guards patrol the premises, including door staff on other the main entrance and the corridor ending to to the more private areas of the recall booths and private suites. Most of these staff are Family members from the goon rank, low level but highly professional. And several are recruited locally by the bar itself.
  • High quality digital infrastructure and hardware protect both the bar, and it patrons. Damage to the stored data or a hack during a recall session could prove dangerous to the users so every precaution is taken by the owners to ensure safety.
Additionally, all users of the recall booths must submit their details, this is both for user safety, but also for screening of users requesting access to more illicit materials.

Mairéad, a young woman and ex slave came into a sizable chunk if money that was previously the property of the Hutt she was intended to be married off to. As a woman of simple requirements, this money sat doing nothing for a while until she joined The Family. Now making a regular income, the saving she had we even more redundant. It was this that was pointed out to her by her new friend and experienced ally in The Family, Marcella Fiora, the Caporegime of Denon. She encouraged Mairéad to find an investment opportunity that would not only provide additional income to her, but also allow her to make kick-ups to The Family and increase her standing.

Reveries has been a profitable venue for a while now but its owners had fallen on hard times and were forced to sell their assets. Marcella helped Mairéad find the venue, wonderfully undervalued for a quick sale on the market and helped Mairéad make an offer that the desperate owners readily took. Mairéad is the majority shareholder, with Marcella having a minority stake in exchange for providing her business experience to the venture.

Once she had taken over she quickly made changes to the venue to make it her own, changing the lighting, some of the decor, and with guidance Ivory Stroud, increased the security facilities to make it more suitable as a potential meeting place for The Family and other business contacts.

Reopening under new management, the old patrons have come back. There has been a little disquiet about the stricter measures in place to ensure business continuity, but Reveries offers a unique experience and people are getting over their reservations about the new owner.

Under Review Mairéad Solus Mairéad Solus

Very cool! Love a good Memory Den concept. Just a couple of things before approval.

  • Points of Interest: Broadly I love this description of the bar's services. However, Chaos rules compel me to note that references to prostitution are forbidden here. I think "Intimate gratification memories" (a Level 3 experience) are right on that line, as that description could be construed as "paying to experience intimacy". I'd either clarify that or remove it.

The Mongrel The Mongrel

Thank you for taking the time to time to review this.

I have added those links as advised.

I have removed the reference to intimate memories as I feel like a convulted description to make it fit would only serve to make it more about that, rather than it being a throw away line in a list of services.

I have added a new more generic line to that memory level so it didn't seem too bare.

Thanks again
