OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
The construction of the "Runes of Kathmandu" involved a meticulous selection of materials that combined spiritual resonance with structural integrity, reflecting the artifacts' purpose of maintaining balance in the Force and safeguarding against Sith magic and similar dangers. These materials were carefully chosen to harness the essence of the Force and manifest it in a tangible form.
The foundations of the artifacts consisted of pure crystalline plates, sourced from remote and sacred locations across the galaxy. These plates, meticulously harvested and refined, represented the clarity of the Force's cosmic energies. Their transparency allowed the Bendu-like sigils to be etched directly onto the surface, ensuring a harmonious alignment between the physical and spiritual realms.
Interwoven within the crystalline plates were veins of Kyber Crystals, known for its innate connection to the Force. The Kyber crystal veins served as conduits, allowing the cosmic energies to flow through the artifact. They resonated with the vibrations of the sigils, facilitating the transmutation of dark energies into positive harmonies.
The Bendu sigils that comprised the core of the artifact were etched using a combination of lightsaber technology and ancient Force techniques. The engravings emitted a soft, luminescent glow that mirrored the natural radiance of the stars, symbolizing the ever-present light side of the Force. Embedded within the crystalline plates were small harmonic resonators, created through a delicate fusion of alchemical science and Force attunement. These resonators enhanced the interaction between the sigils, Kyber veins, creating a web of interconnected energies that reinforced the artifact's protective capabilities.
Tiny amounts of Krayt dragon pearl essence, renowned for its ability to channel and focus energy, were infused into specific areas of the artifact. These infusions enhanced the artifact's ability to channel cosmic energies, amplifying the effects of the individual runes when activated.
The meticulous selection and combination of these materials were guided by Romi Jade's deep understanding of the cosmic forces at play. Each element contributed to the artifact's unique resonance, ensuring that the Runes of Kathmandu not only fulfilled its defensive purpose but also embodied the very harmony it sought to protect.

SPECIAL FEATURES
Description:
The Runes of Kathmandu are a group of (4) powerful Force artifacts created by Jedi Master Romi Jade as a proactive defense against Sith spells and rituals on the battlefield. They are designed to capture, contain, and neutralize the dark energies unleashed by Sith sorcery, preventing them from causing harm or corrupting the surroundings. They take the form of crystalline, multifaceted cubed boxes imbued with the purest light of the Force. They shimmer with iridescent hues, reflecting the full spectrum of positive energy. Its facets are meticulously carved with intricate Jedi-like sigils and ancient inscriptions that amplify its defensive capabilities.
Jedi Master Romi Jade designed these as a response to the increasing complexity and malevolence of Sith spells and rituals. Recognizing that traditional lightsabers and defensive Force techniques might not be sufficient to counter the superior dark arts. She pitched the idea, once the schematics were drawn, to Kahlil and Valery Noble and worked with their oversight to commission the creation of these artifacts to provide an effective and specialized defense against Sith magic and related powers.
The Containment Mechanism Works As Such:
When a Sith spell or ritual is detected and the artifact's facets align towards the source, the intricate inscriptions and Jedi sigils glow with a brilliant radiance. At this point, the cube creates a localized field of pure light side energy, which interacts with the dark energy of the Sith spell or ritual. This interaction forms an ethereal barrier that entraps and confines the dark energies, preventing them from progressing further.
Once captured, the dark energies are subjected to a process of gradual conversion within the cube. The cube's core houses an arrangement of interlocking crystal matrices that facilitate the transformation. The dark energy is first disassembled into its elemental and/or emotional components. Then, these components are systematically infused with positive energy drawn from the Force, turning the malevolent force into one of healing and protection. The converted energy begins to resonate harmoniously with the light side, emitting a soothing, luminescent glow. As the purification continues, the resonant frequencies of the dark energy shift, aligning with the patterns of light. This resonance enhances the cube's defensive capabilities, allowing it to generate protective barriers and healing waves that can benefit nearby Jedi.
To sustain the containment and conversion process, the Jedi wielding or overseeing the cube must maintain an unbroken connection to the artifact through the Force. This connection acts as a conduit for the Jedi's own energy and intention, guiding the transformation of the captured dark energy. However, this sustained connection also requires significant concentration and can drain the Jedi's strength over time.
Range and Proximity Sensitivity:
The Runes of Kathmandu possess an extraordinary range that allows them to detect, seek out, and contain Sith spells and rituals from a considerable distance. This capability is achieved through their attunement to the subtle currents of the Force and its ability to sense disruptions caused by dark side energies. The Runes inherent sensitivity allows it to perceive disturbances across vast expanses, providing the Jedi wielding it with invaluable tactical advantages.
The Runes can sense the emanations of Sith spells and rituals even before they fully materialize. This early detection provides Jedi with a warning and an opportunity to prepare a defense before the dark energy is fully unleashed. When a Sith spell or ritual is detected, the artifacts' facets rotate and align themselves towards the source of the dark energy, guiding the Jedi wielding it towards the threat. The prism can capture and neutralize the dark energies even from a significant distance. As long as the Jedi maintains a connection to the prism through the Force, the containment process continues.
Conjunction for Grand Effect:
When multiple Runes of Kathmandu are used in conjunction, their effects magnify. By arranging the crystalline plates in a precise pattern, Jedi can create a radiant field that encompasses the entire battlefield. Each rune's protective aspect contributes to a harmonious blend of energies that not only intercept and contain Sith magic but also transmute it into harmonious Force energies that cleanse and rejuvenate the environment.
The grand effect, however, demands an extraordinary level of mastery and focus from the Jedi employing the artifact. This potent defense radiates an aura of luminous protection, underscoring the unity between the Jedi, the artifact, and the cosmic balance they strive to uphold.
Safeguarding the Artifacts' Intent | Monitoring and Regulation by the Jedi Council:
The Rune of Kathmandu's profound abilities to capture, contain, and convert dark energy bring with them a responsibility that necessitates monitoring and regulation by the Jedi Council. While the artifact serves as a potent defense against Sith magic, its capabilities also introduce the potential for unintended consequences. The Council's oversight ensures that these artifacts' original intent of protection and balance is upheld.
Romi Jade herself recognizes the ethical complexities associated with manipulating dark side energy, even for noble purposes, and as such has expressed and extended those same recognitions to the Jedi Council. Their ability to convert dark energy into light raises questions about the nature of this transformation and whether it constitutes interference with the Force's inherent balance. By regulating its use, the Council can ensure that Jedi using the Runes do not inadvertently contribute to imbalances in the Force.
The artifacts' impressive range, containment, and conversion capabilities grant wielders a considerable amount of power. Unchecked use of such power could lead to unintended consequences, misuse, or arrogance. By monitoring its deployment, the Jedi Council can prevent individual Jedi from becoming overly reliant on the artifacts, encouraging them to continue honing their traditional Force skills. By regulating the use of the Runes of Kathmandu, the Jedi Council can ensure that only those Jedi who have demonstrated mastery of the Force and a deep understanding of its intricacies are entrusted with its power. This regulation helps prevent novice or reckless Jedi from mishandling the artifact, which could result in unforeseen consequences.

STRENGTHS
Containment and Neutralization: The Runes of Kathmandu can instantly detect and intercept Sith spells and rituals as they are being cast. Upon contact, it captures the dark energies, preventing them from reaching their intended targets and containing them within the device.
Conversion of Dark Energy: The captured dark energies are gradually purified and transformed into healing and protective light by the devices's internal mechanisms, thus turning the malevolent force into a source of positivity.
Area Defense: The artifacts' influence extends to a radius around it, shielding nearby Jedi from the effects of the captured spells and weakening the Sith's offensive capabilities.
Battlefield Domination: The Runes allows Jedi to dominate the battlefield by countering Sith magic from a safe distance no matter the level of the caster, minimizing the risk to themselves, their allies, and whomever they're protecting.
Amplification of Jedi Abilities: When wielded by a skilled Jedi, the Runes can enhance their connection to the Force, (i.e perform heightened defensive maneuvers, project potent protective barriers.)
Harmonic Synergy: Each individual rune, when used alone, can provide focused protection related its intended purpose. When combined (all 4 used together) the synergy of multiple runes can amplify their effects for a grander safeguarding.
Versatility: The runes' power extends to a variety of dark side manifestations – from Sith spells to rituals. When an individual rune is employed, it creates a localized sanctuary that nullifies or transforms the dark energy.
WEAKNESSES
Uniquely Made: The materials needed are scarce and the power to imbue them requires individuals strong enough in and well versed in the lore of the force, this ensure that these artifacts are made uniquely and cannot be heavily produced.
Force Negating Effects: Force negation items/zones - Ysalamiri, Voidstone, Etc. would nullify/disrupt their abilities.
Limited Capacity: Each artifact can only contain a certain amount of dark energy before it reaches its threshold. If overloaded, it risks releasing the captured energy back into the environment, potentially causing unintended consequences.
Vulnerability to Direct Assault: Their defensive capabilities are focused on containment and neutralization. It lacks offensive abilities, making it vulnerable to direct physical attacks.
Jedi Mastery Required: Only highly skilled Jedi with extensive knowledge of both the Force and the ways of the Sith can effectively and should wield the Runes of Kathmandu.
Ethical Consideration: The use of the artifacts raises ethical concerns among some Jedi, as it involves manipulating and altering the nature of the dark side of the Force, which could have unforeseen consequences.
Darkness Corruption: Constant exposure to the dark energies within the device could potentially corrupt or influence the Jedi wielding it, blurring the line between light and dark.
Unintended Consequences: Purifying and converting dark energy is a delicate process. If the device's mechanisms malfunction or are tampered with, it could result in the release of unpredictable and uncontrollable energies.
Energy Management: Using multiple runes simultaneously requires significant energy and focus. Jedi must strike a balance between the number of runes employed and their available strength.

CONTEXTUAL INFORMATION
Intent behind the Creation of the Runes of Kathmandu:
Jedi Master Romi Jade's design and creation of the Runes of Kathmandu was driven by a profound study and understanding of the delicate balance that governs the Force and a heartfelt dedication to preserving that balance in the face of rising Sith darkness. Romi Jade recognized the need for a new approach in countering the escalating power of Sith sorcery. Romi Jade believed that tapping into the timeless wisdom encoded in Bendu symbolism and cosmic concepts would provide a solution rooted in the very fabric of the universe. This would not only offer a more enduring defense but also showcase the Jedi's commitment to learning from the past while adapting to the challenges of the present.
Jade's intent was to harmonize the Force, transcending the dichotomy between light and dark. The Runes were designed not merely to repel dark energies, but to transform them into energies aligned with the light side, thereby restoring equilibrium to the Force.
By creating an artifact that required the coordination and collaboration of multiple Jedi, she aimed to foster unity among the Order by joining forces with Kahlil and Valery Noble. The complexity of the artifact's deployment encouraged Jedi to work together, sharing insights and strengths, emphasizing that the collective efforts of the Jedi were more potent than individual prowess.
By tapping into ancient mysticism while embracing modern strategies, the artifact would serve as a testament to the Order's adaptability and resilience, ensuring that the Jedi's commitment to safeguarding peace endured.
She turned these artifacts over to the New Jedi Order, entrusting sanction over the regulation of such items to the Jedi Council.
