OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To make a component for facilities and ships that can be used to improve storage space
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Primary Source: Molecular Disruptor
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Saotome Foundry
  • Affiliation: Closed-Market (Any character can use this if they have explicit permission through, for example, a marketplace purchase)
  • Model: Molecular Disruptor
  • Modularity: N/A

  • Production: Semi-Unique
  • Material:
    Duraplast
  • Internal Components
  • Mirrors

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Shrinks cargo containers, vehicles, starfighters/ships to fit within holds
Strengths:
  • Exponentially increases cargo capacity by shrinking items to take up less space.
Weaknesses:
  • Does not function on organics, the means to make the disruptor into deadly trap like was used in the past has been lost. FOr the most part they function to alter cargo to fit within ships.
  • Power: To keep the technology working and maintaining the shrinking properties for a time a large amount of power is required to maintain. If the power is lost then the objects can return to normal destroying the ships or cargo holds they are in.
  • The mirrors are fragile and require cleaning regularly, with them not being able to take cracks or damage to keep the disruptor active.
DESCRIPTION
Recovered and designed by Saotome as a component for facilities and ships, the molecular disruptor is exotic in that is can shrink objects and cargo to make carrying, transporting or storage of larger quantities of supplies and equipment.. The power required to keep the mirrors shrinkage maintained means that if the power is lost the objects will revert to normal and likely be destroyed in the process as well as where they are destroyed. The engineers at Saotome have been working to reverse and build up technology that can improve the lives of people on colonies or planets. The mirrors while put in the frame and made are still fragile and able to be smashed or damaged with moderate or little impact.

[member="Matsu Ike"], How would one go and reverse the effects of such a device, and what would happen if someone attempted to use this in battle as a form of making the opponents weapon shrink in their hands.

The adverse of that, What would happen if you shoved a whole bunch of cargo into the hold while this effect is active, and this effect were to wear off?

To answer the first... this is meant to be larger as opposed to portable. The original version of it from the show was stationary and inside a building. You wouldn't be able to carry the mirrors around and instantly shrink someone.

To answer the second part of the weaknesses
