DESCRIPTION:
The Scorpio-class launch tube is a single tube projectile launcher made for vehicles and attack craft such as fighters and interceptors. The launcher is made up of a single launch tube, its warhead loading equipment, and a magazine that stores various types of missiles, rockets, and torpedoes.

The pilot or weapons office can utilize a selectable menu when loading the launcher. A menu is presented with a list of ordnance loaded in the weapon's magazine giving the operator the chance to load any of the various types of warheads. Once selected the system then loads the selected ordinance and unlocks the launcher to fire. Once loaded the launcher is free to fire the loaded projectile when ready. This offers unsurpassed flexibility in mission-specific ordnance and gives the craft a wide range of mission profiles but comes at a cost. The launch system is slower to fire than a standard ordnance launcher as it must first select then load the ordnance into the launcher before it can fire.

The launcher's casing was made from Alusteel which was wrapped in a layer of Agrinium to lessen any radiation from the warheads or their propellants. The tube was made of Hadrium protecting the tube and surrounding areas of the craft from the heat created when launching projectiles. A layer of Permex is wrapped around the tube giving the craft further protection from the heat and radiation of launching its ordinance.
