What is the Dead Road?

The Dead Road is the name of two things: First a hyperlane deep in Hutt space, near the edge of the known galaxy. Meaningless to common folks, the Dead Road is important to the criminals to the galaxy. Linking worlds that have been ruled by the Hutts for ages, smuggling and piracy have always flourished along it, at least until the day the Hutss locked the lane down from anyone not belonging to them.

Secondly it's a name claimed by a loose alliance of criminals that seeks take the Dead Road out of the Hutt's hands and make it into a new source of wealth for it's members. Lead by a council this group acts as one when there is mutual benefit from doing so, but still is composed of individual sub groups that take care of their own operations.

Our Goals

OOC Version:

The Dead Road has Three main Goals that drive us:

1. Hyperlanes. Yeah you read that right, Hyperlanes. To start us of we will take over one (called the Dead Road) and then "offer protection" along it to fund our future development. Once we got that right we will move on to a new frontier aka. searching out new Hyperlanes, those secret, unknown or forgotten to give us a way to move faster and unseen through the galaxy, giving us an edge over any other criminal group both in business and in combat.

2.
Shadowports and Shadow Societies. There are places like Nar Shaddaa or the Coruscanti underworld where criminals can hide out, as well as a handful of shadowports. But by now many of these places are under the influence of other, non-criminal groups. The Dead Road will change that, by creating new shadowports, pirate villages and other secret outsider societies around the lanes that it controls, places where criminals can hang out, rally and basically do anything else outside of reach of Lawful elements of the galaxy. For now this means creating places from where we can control the Dead Road.

3. Run the Business side of things. The Dead Road isn't a unified syndicate, but a collection of individual pirate crews, cartels and whatever else people can think of as from of organizations for criminals. Yet this alliance still serves as that edge that gives these groups the chance to be the top dog in their respective niche. To know how this will be handled for the start of the faction, please move on to...

Our Story

The Dead Road is anything but abandoned. While the Hutts are nowhere near their former power, some fringe elements outside of the cartel still remain on the worlds along the Dead Road. Without control and support from the cartel, a handful of Hutts has taken control over the Dead Road, prohibiting anyone from traveling along it and keeping other criminals from concluding business there. Their power might has faded, but they still keep their old worlds controlled with an iron fist, ready to use violence against anyone threatening their position. Yet another group has risen to fully erase the remnants, and take over the Dead Road with the intend to reform the half forgotten Hyperlane in a new source of wealth and prosperity. Under the banner of the Dead Road criminals of all ways of live have gathered to work towards this goal, for wealth and riches.

First they will take away the Hutts profits, then their worlds.
