- A fragment of a Tythonian Jedi's lightsaber crystal, bled.
- The ring amplifies a force user's control over alchemically or sorcery-summoned creatures and monsters as well as the quantity of creatures controlled.

- The effects can be temporarily suppressed by Ysalamiri and other such forces and effects.
- If a sithspawn, alchemically created, or sorcery-summoned creature is already under anothers control, the wearer of the ring may not simply assume control, but wrestle the control from the original creator which requires a battle of wits and additional stress.
Sorzus Syn was the original author of the Sith Code, a master of sith alchemy and the commander of legions of sith abominations and war beasts. She is the mother of the Shambler, Howler, Pit Horror, and Leviathan. She dominated herds of Tuk'ata across the sands of Korriban and wastes of Ziost after her arrival and single-handedly contributed much of her knowledge to the book of the Sith in the form of her journal. Her academic musings and studies form the bedrock on which all Sith Order study begins. Unquestionably one of the most powerful Sith Alchemists to ever live.
Obsessed with ancient Sith artifacts, she sought to create one of her own. While she had created a Holocron near the end of her life, little is known about the other artifacts she may or may not have created. Her Ring was one such artifact, lost to history. The item possesses a terrible power, amplifying the skills that the ancient Sith was so proud of in life. It provided her with an expanded ability to control legions of horrors and mutants, manipulate the very cells of the living and it helped her come to the conclusion that dead flesh and the use of necromancy was a far more effective tool. She wielded diseases and poisons as easily as a man would use a knife and spread her curses throught the ranks of her enemies.
Eventually her ring was lost to history, many of the artefacts left behind by the ancient Sith were swept up, while the small ring was forgotten because of the difficutly by which it was used. After a time the ring fell into the hands of several ancient sith before it was sealed away in a collection beneath the surface of Korriban within a deep catacomb where its presence alone inspired some of the rites that lead to the necromantic sorceries that the catacomb would later be renowned for.
In the year 900 ABY, the catacombs beneath Korriban were finally breached by Darth Caedes and his allies including the neophyte sith philosopher, Darth Nwul who would soon become known as Darth Nwul. Wake discovered the ring along with several other objects within the tomb and took them for his own. His unique physique, outlook, mental abilities, and the numerous minds and souls that he had consumed made him the perfect vessel for the ring.
