HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Founded out of Mr. Janus's anxious desire for a fleet outside the reach of the grasping hands of his corporate sub-executives, the Null attachment is a highly professional force of ships and crew. Treatech's security fleet operates in small groups of frigates and light cruisers, but TSF-NULL does not follow this doctrine. As a mix of very heavy battlecruisers, long range ships, swarm carriers, and multi-role frigates, this fleet uses power and pressure to complete objectives.
This fleet was considered a Tier 1 fleet for most of its existence, meaning that they operated at the maximum readiness level possible for a Treatech fleet/taskforce. The NULL attachment was able to be deployed at a moment's notice, and crew protocol reflected this. Traditionally, TSF-NULL spent a lot of time at a secret space-dock, where crew members had their every need accounted for.
Through use of advanced droid brains, the NULL attachment is able to reduce overall crew numbers. The NULL attachment is a jealously guarded secret with only Mr. Janus and those onboard knowing its exact location at any given point. Crew members undergo scheduled interrogation sessions with an administrative AI to ensure that no information gets leaked. Members are permitted to inform family and friends that they work for Treatech and can elaborate on their specific job onboard a ship, but are forbidden from acknowledging the NULL attachments existence outside of a select few scenarios.
The NULL attachment began as a very small taskforce, the aptly named "Eternal Servitude" being the oldest ship in the fleet, alongside her sisters, "Blood Tithe" and "Visions of Gideon." These three ships built the foundation for what the fleet is now, pioneering the heavy shock tactics used by the NULL attachment to this day. When the benefits of a highly secretive, elite space force proved more and more useful, Mr. Janus slowly upped the number of ships in the fleet, the cap-stone being the interdiction cruiser, "Solitude Keep." Another appropriately named craft, the ships maiden voyage would be to journey to the Jhiaxus system, which would represent a major shift in the NULL attachment's goals. Now, TSF-NULL operates away from most of the known galaxy, working to enforce, secure, and protect the Jhiaxus system. Larger patrol groups typically represent a third of the main line, led by a single battlecruiser throughout the operation, while smaller patrols are often groups of frigates. The whole of TSF-NULL is not longer a tier-1 fleet, but instead cycles through tasksforces on a scheduled rotation to operate at heightened readiness, excusing them from patrol duty. However, the one ship that is always at maximum readiness is Solitude Keep, making working on board the new vessel an highly valued position, as crew members are treated exceptionally well and also would be in the least danger in a battle, as the interdiction cruiser sits amongst the midst of a powerful backline support group.
To ensure that those manning the ships don't lose their edge, TSF-NULL often performs mock battles and staged scenarios. As incursions into the Jhiaxus system are quite rare, these military exercises help crew members and captains alike, as they learn to work together. This results in s bit of a rivalry between the taskforces, as most often, their only opponents are each other.
