OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Zendack Peak Headquarters
  • Classification: Bota research and processing complex
  • Location: Drongar
  • Affiliation: Pyke Syndicate
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics: Most inhabitants are Pykes, however a few prisoners of other species (mostly Humans, Twi'leks and Rodians) are kept around as manual laborers and test subjects for live experimentation. The Chief Scientist, Dr. Ghast Hark, is a H'nemthe.
  • Accessibility: Zendack Peak HQ is one of the least accessible secret bases run by the Pyke Syndicate, which is saying a lot. It is on Drongar, an isolated and lethal planet that is covered in organisms hostile to sentient life. The base itself is carved directly into the side of the planet’s tallest mountain, and is defended by a garrison of Pyke Guards.
  • Description: Zendack Peak HQ is the site of the Pyke Syndicate’s research in developing a stable form of the “miracle serum” known as bota. Thanks to Drongar’s overly oxygenated atmosphere and many dangerous flora, the entire base is airtight and sealed off from the outside world. To facilitate this, large portions of the base are carved directly into Zendack Peak, the highest mountain on Drongar. Zendack Peak HQ has some of the best scientific equipment the Galaxy has to offer, and is staffed by the Syndicate’s top minds in the fields of biology, chemistry, and engineering. Its existence is a well-guarded secret, known by very few even within the Syndicate, let alone outside. Syndicate Leader Jej Ulchtar believes that the research taking place in Zendack Peak potentially holds the key to Pyke domination over the entire Galaxy, and thus only trusts members of his inner circle with knowledge of its existence. The base’s Manager of Operations is Tsuk Jasgite, an experienced leader in the Pyke Syndicate who is known to have great respect for the power of science. The base’s Chief Scientist is a H'nemthe named Dr. Ghast Hark. He was considered one of the Galaxy’s most brilliant biologists, but was discredited in the scientific community after his inhumane research practices came to light.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Starship Platform: This is where starships visiting Zendack Peak land and take off, and also where the facility’s squadron of RZ-565 Starfighters is stored. Thanks to Drongar’s oxygen-rich atmosphere, ships stationed here for an extensive period of time are covered with a coat of lime green paint to prevent rusting.
  • Vehicle Garage: This is where land vehicles stationed at Zendack Peak are stored. These vehicles include QO-11 Finwings, RK-22 Armored Landspeeders, and one JS-17 Drill Hovertank. They are used for sample collection expeditions, scouting unexplored areas, and (in the case of the drill hovertank) excavating new areas for the base itself.
  • Executive Conference Room: This is where the senior officers of Zendack Peak HQ conduct meetings, both routine and unscheduled. This room is dominated by a large window which overlooks the expansive natural landscape surrounding the mountain. The Manager of Operations’s office is directly connected to it through a one-way mirror on the other side of the room in addition to a normal door.
  • Bota Processing Laboratory: This is where raw bota harvested outside the base is experimented with to recreate the potent medicinal properties it once possessed, and to stabilize it into a non-mutating form. This has been successful on a limited scale, but industrial-scale production is still a distant goal.
  • Bota-Spice Synthesis Laboratory: This is where research to combine spice and bota into a single serum takes place. The ultimate goal of the research conducted here is to create super-soldiers with enhanced strength and speed, extreme regenerative healing, and force sensitivity. Efforts so far have been unsuccessful, but progress is being made.

SECURITY
High Security at Zendack Peak HQ is taken very seriously, but artificial security measures are not quite as thorough as they would be at a normal top-secret Pyke base. The natural hazards of Drongar do quite a bit in deterring any intruders, as does the inaccessible nature of the fact that the base is carved directly into a mountain. Security measures include:

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Zendack Peak HQ was built for the purpose of harvesting and researching bota to further Pyke Syndicate interests. The base’s construction was the idea and suggestion of Posati Eriats. Eriats was also responsible for hiring Dr. Ghast Hark to act as the base’s Chief Scientist. Jej Ulchtar took interest in the project and approved the base’s construction.

Construction of Zendack Peak HQ was a laborious task, with frequent setbacks due to intense storms, disease outbreaks, and a corrupt construction manager who was secretly embezzling funds for himself. When said manager’s activities were exposed, he was imprisoned and later used as one of Dr. Hark’s unwilling test subjects.

Once construction was finally completed, operation of Zendack Peak HQ began. When Dr. Hark first began conducting research, he had an assistant in the form of his niece, a promising young biologist named Lytyl Iondith. She assisted her uncle in his twisted experiments at first, but grew increasingly uncomfortable with his complete disregard for both sentient rights and scientific ethics. Eventually, she reached her breaking point and attempted to leave Zendack Peak to expose the existence of Zendack Peak and its twisted experiments to the general public. Unfortunately for her, she was caught attempting to stow away onboard a leaving supply ship, and returned to an infuriated Dr. Hark. Iondith was executed on her uncle’s orders. The only mercy granted to her was a quick death by firing squad, rather than the extended ordeal of acting as a live test subject.

Two things:

1. Could you link any wookieepeida, factory, or codex links, for your security if you have them or they exist.

2. I‘d like you to expand on the history more. Why did your character take an interest in the project? Are there other facilities they use? Why is the research important to the syndicate? What interests will it further?

All of those are great questions to answer on this.

Thanks!
