- Appearance: Zhar is a gobsmackingly handsome, tall and muscular male Pylantian. His chiseled features, dark hair and alluring eyes all look almost too perfect to be real. Somewhat sloppy about maintaining his appearance, he is often seen sporting a few days' worth of beard, messy hair and rumpled clothing. If the occasion truly calls for it, he will shave, comb his hair and don a suave suit (but he will not enjoy it).

- Skills: Zhar's primary education is in agricultural science. He is a farmer, supervising the cultivation and shipment of crops throughout the galaxy. He is also adept at animal husbandry. He takes great pride in his work and is passionate about improving conditions for farm animals and increasing sustainable food production.

- Personality: Zhar can sometimes come across as a dirty hippie, preferring nature to civilization. Utterly lacking in vanity (and rather disappointed whenever people are drawn to him only because of his looks), he does the bare minimum to upkeep his appearance, even sometimes having to be begged to take a shower. "The animals don't care how I smell!" being his usual excuse for putting it off. Like many Pylantians, he is non-confrontational and ill-equipped to deal with conflict. In his neverending quest to avoid other people's drama at all cost, he often eschews the company of other sentients in favor of vibing with nature. But he is not a misanthrope or apathetic. He is a kind and compassionate individual who simply seeks to do no harm. A diligent worker with a good sense of humor, the fact that he was almost a Jedi Knight doesn't bother him one bit. He never really wanted that life for himself, and is happy where he is.

- Combat Function: Zhar is a competent fighter with training in the use of both ranged and melee weapons as well as martial arts, though he is somewhat out of practice. His physical fitness, size and strength work to his advantage in that he can hit hard. He also sort of knows how to use a lightsaber, but in his own words "that would be inadvisable".
- Force Abilities (Force Users Only): Having never progressed beyond the level of Jedi Youngling, Zhar's abilities include limited precognition (also known as danger sense), basic telekinesis, and heightened reflexes. He is trained in Plant Surge and Animal Bond, but these are not abilities he can use on the fly or in combat, requiring meditation and considerable concentration to perform.
- Farmboy: A member of the AgriCorps, Zhar knows all the ins and outs of farming, from horticulture to animal science.
- Physical Strength: Zhar is a big guy and strong as an ox. Sometimes his physicality is imposing enough to deter conflict.
- Hunk of Hunks: Male Pylantians are widely considered to be physically attractive. Zhar is no different, though this is typically a passive trait and not something he will actively try to take advantage of.
- Harmonious Existence: Pylantians have not evolved to compete with their own kind for resources. Zhar is peaceful and cooperative by nature, and generally works well with others. Having no ego to bruise, it is nearly impossible to offend or provoke him to unnecessary violence.
- Noncompetitive: Due to their lack of a competitive drive, Pylantians are mentally ill-suited for the violent conflicts that plague the galaxy. Zhar is often at a disadvantage when attacked or confronted, and can find it difficult to navigate tense social situations.
- Failure Is Not the End: For the most part, Zhar is happy where he is. But he still must deal with the drawbacks and stigma associated with being a "washout" who failed to pass his Trials and become a Jedi.
Born on Pylos Satnik, Zhar Cthylla was the eldest of three children born to the Jedi Knights Oukranos and Kassogtha Cthylla. After his birth his parents brought him back to the Silver Rest on Kashyyyk, where he and his siblings were raised. He attended school there and played with the other younglings. It was there that he developed a love for animals and the natural world; he would regularly wander the woods of Kashyyyk, collecting specimens for study or simply observing the wildlife.
As he was born Force Sensitive, it was expected that Zhar would become a Jedi like his parents. However, as he grew older he began to flag behind the other students of the Silver Jedi, struggling to progress beyond basic training. Eventually it was determined that his connection to the Force was weaker than what was initially presumed. The career of a Jedi Knight was no longer a possibility for him.
Zhar would recall that his parents were more devastated by the news than he was. He actually felt relieved, as the life of a Jedi Knight no longer appealed to him. The young Pylantian had no desire to become involved in the galaxy-spanning conflicts the Jedi so often found themselves in the middle of. Instead, he wanted a peaceful and quiet life. In his teens, he made the decision to join the AgriCorps.
