I was going to write a whole long essay about Auteme, but it devolved into me just pointing stuff out that would be obvious to you ("Auteme is non-confrontational and this is a character flaw" no shit Sherlock, it's listed under her weaknesses that she's reluctant and pacifistic), so I'm gonna make this much quicker and more succinct (and kind of blunt, sorry) instead.
My four star rating is because this article reads like every thread you and Ryv have ever put out, particularly "Somebody Catch My Breath" which as you know due to my Love react bombing, I did read the entirety of. Good stuff. But this is the same "we make a great team, we're such good friends, gee Ryv I sure do care about you a whole lot" recurring theme y'all have had for a while now.
But I get it. Auteme is a great character, Ryv is a fascinating character, you play off each other really well. In this little drabble you seem to kind of hint that something is wrong in the state of Denmark with how Ryv is presented (and in the SCMB thread, she literally tells him to seek therapy, lmao), but I feel like that uncertainty and anxiety should've been highlighted more.
Alternatively, let her be played like a fiddle. You've established that Auteme manages to get along with everybody, whether they are her fellow Jedi, her teachers, students, or closest confidants... even when it seems like she wouldn't be. This is especially true when it comes to Ryv. The fact that she and Ryv are still such good friends after all the ups and downs in their relationship and the difference in their perspectives is interesting, but it also highlights one of Auteme's major character flaws, which is her passivity and desire to make everyone happy. That tolerant attitude will earn you friends, sure, but it can also rob you of your sense of identity, and it should become frustrating for her after a while. Whenever I saw her in, say, those schism-that-never-was threads, which were all about being confrontational, her posts almost felt surreal. She looked very out of place and uncomfortable in those kinds of situations. On the other hand, she didn't protest the things that were making her feel uncomfortable, at least not openly. It was difficult to tell whose side she was actually on - whether she was trying to pander to everyone or to her friends, however, it was clear that she wasn't doing it for herself. That has the potential to be a tragic flaw.
Anyway, yeah. That's my four paragraph review. I'm going to go do something else now.
