Anja checked her app one more time, she hadn't been able to install it on her proper personal device as the corpsec security protocols were not a fan, but she had a spare device that she could put sketchy apps on if needed. She was waiting in the foyer for the guy to show up. What was she doing? Her girlfriends had put her up to this and started frantically swiping left on every half handsome guy on there until a match popped up. And, whilst he was a little young, he was cute, and her friends didn't exactly bag and tag her so she must be here for a reason. She had been honest with him via direct message that the age thing was playing on her mind, so at least he knew that much.

She spotted a similar looking guy and checked the app again, not him, wrong hair, would it be wrong to....

She activated the facial recognition software of her corpsec inplant and known faces started being flagged on her retina, including a few which were wanted criminals, with a thought she dialed back the settings, "no work stuff, just faces please." she said to herself as she looked around. She caught her own reflection in the mirror and smiled, she looked good and this dress was cute, she really needed to stop thinking thirty because she looked hot tonight. She hoped he would think so to.

Having recently arrived on the luxury cruiser, Korr found himself marvelling at the wonder of it during the shuttle ride. However, within the confines of the vessel, that sense of wonder only intensified, courtesy of the numerous events, establishments, and the bustling crowd. Despite the allure of exploration, Korr wasn't here to succumb to wanderlust and pepper everyone with queries about their life experiences. He had one person in mind.

His pace came to a halt upon reaching the Casino, the venue for the blind date. The term was still relatively new to Korr, but his adventurous spirit welcomed novel experiences. Unsure of the ideal attire for such an occasion, Korr opted for a simple black suit, with his sandy blonde hair neatly tied up. Nerves compelled him to frequently check the holo-device he carried, more for reassurance than to monitor the time.

I couldn’t believe that signing up for a dating app would end up with me getting a match and a trip on a luxury cruiser. It was a bit of an argument with Sparkle to get me to sign up…in fact she managed to fill out everything before I even gave consent. I had been spending far too much time working. Sparkle said I needed time with people. It was probably true. My workshop was my happy place, but no one observing me work would know that. I get laser focused and the job in front of me. Anyone seeing this would think I was a complete introvert.

When I was around people I tended to open up, allow humor in, generally let go of that focus and relax. Sparkle was right, the time had come for me to experience that again. Still, I wasn’t sure that meant having to get into the dating scene. And if it did, what did it say about things that Sparkle didn’t think that I could find my own date? I guess what is done is done, so nothing to do now but to enjoy the cruise, hope that the app’s inventor knew what they were doing with algorithms and asked the right questions, and do my best to forget about work.

The cruiser was amazing compared to the Seven Corners on Denon. My eyes were shifting all over the place as I walked through the cruiser on the way to the gazing galley. My date, a woman named Allyson, was to meet me there. On the way I passed the casino and the nightclub. For the dating event the nightclub seemed a little subdued, but the casino from a distance reminded me of home. But I was supposed to be escaping home, and the work that was there. The stargazing would be a nice change of scenery.

I had a smile on my face as I entered the galley, it was dark and the ceiling opened up to space. I had promised Sparkle that I would not do any digging on my date. I wasn’t very accepting of surprises so that was a very hard promise to keep. Even here without my high powered datapads. With a thought I could access the Cryptnet and get all kinds of information. Instead I waited for her to arrive with only a name to know who she was.

Where is he?

When the messages and question marks had been coming in from friends, it didn't take long for her to find out what happened. Someone had signed her up for some kind of dating app, though not with a normal profile. The things that had been written in her fake profile were absolutely horrifying, and now she needed revenge.

If Elias Edo Elias Edo was out here somewhere, she'd find him, and she'd probably kill him.

But as Valery stepped into the club after boarding the luxury cruiser, she saw no sign of him yet. With narrowed eyes, she had searched far and wide, but she had yet to see her target of the night. Only after about 10 minutes or so, she finally gave up, for now, and turned away. She looked rather unimpressive compared to most who were here — they were on dates and looking to impress.

She was looking to smack a friend across the head.

Vaux walked in, wearing something a bit nicer than her usual flight armor, but still clearly a bit more comfort focused. This was honestly her first date in along time, having thrown herself head first into piloting. She also had to admit that this was way nicer than having to stay on any Gred ships like way back. She looked around, wondering if her date was there yet before figuring she'd just gotten there first. She found somewhere to sit, trying to get comfy. Wasn't exactly use to going out without her armor or gear. Mandalorian through and through after all, but.... Well it did feel kind of nice to wear something just to look good.

"...It doesn't even look that bad."

"It does, and the fact that you have to qualify this as 'that bad' makes me know it's that bad!", Kase exclaimed, wildly gesturing at the wine stain, courtesy of a nervous fellow Zinderer, and an unsuspecting waiter. It was red enough to be apparent on his choice of sweater for the evening.

Uncle Sinhton sighed. "I'll be there in a minute."

"NO YOU WILL NO-"

Pop

"...Hello, Uncle", Kase said with false enthusiasm as his uncle, Sinhton Vass, patriarch of Ghôsh Vass, The Man of A Thousand Techniques, The Mountain Mover, smacked him upside the head for his insolence, and proceeded to fuss over his beloved nephew.

"I am so happy I signed you up for this 'Zinder'", he exclaimed, casually pulling the wine out of the sweater fibers with application of the Force that made Kase downright envious. "You work so hard- I don't know why you need to practice medicine in Bastion, there are so hospitals in all of the galaxy, and in Haruun Kal, don't look at me like that- and your father would be so proud of you. A warrior of the Ghôsh, a veteran of the War, an Imperial Knight, and you finished med school early."

He poked Kase in the head, eliciting an indignant squawk, before continuing to draw out the wine, ignoring his nephew. "But you are too much like your cousin. Cannot settle down. Helping everyone but themselves, giving themselves to everyone and leaving nothing for themselves. But you- you child, must live. And maybe love. That is how you honor your father's sacrifice."

Uncle Sinhton popped out of existence, leaving Kase with his thoughts. He looked at his now pristine sweater, smiling, before taking a deep breath and schooling his features. He smoothed it out, and unhooked his lightsaber from his belt, putting it in his leg holster. He stepped out of the bathroom, making his way to galley.

Then he saw Anja Rydder Anja Rydder .

'Wow.'

Taking another deep breath- and a quick calming technique with the Force- he approached the Zeltron woman.

"Anja? Hey, I'm Kase. You look beautiful- absolutely stunning. Would you like to grab a drink and sit down, talk?"

Serenity was starting to wonder if swiping right on everyone was a bad idea. This was her seventh meet up and the first six had been anything but stimulating. At least the recommended rendezvous was not some boring restaurant. Instead, she found herself dancing on the floor already.

Dancing. And alone. They didn't go together. She had been propositioned a half dozen times already and had even taken a moment to consider leaving with one spunky woman that almost danced better than Serenity. Instead, she spurned the advance in order to preserve her review status on this new dang app.

So. Hips did their work. Arms stretched upwards. And Serenity lost herself in the moment…time just slipping by.

Kalic was pretty slow to enter, his Force Sight giving an interesting highlight of the people in the room.

"You'll be fine." He heard the Angel system of the Starcrest in his mind.

"Thanks, just hope I don't have a vision during this. Just try to stay back of mind." The Miraluka wouldn't really sit yet, just deciding to take a breath and enjoy the music while he waited for his date. This was a bit nerve wracking. He hadn't been on a date of any kind since he was a teen, and given everything that'd happened since, it was... hard to think of sometimes. Just relaxing and having a fun night with someone.

Aerona had found herself casually swiping on Zinder. It was amusing time seeing what guys would post as ways to pull the interest of a woman in. She had plenty of matches and plenty of blackmail evidence for future use should she need it. Zinder was also growing as an app for cheating partners which meant she could find them on the app and send screenshot proof to clients for some easy credits.

However, she found a couple matches she legitimately had to be intriguing. They were mostly older guys but some she could tell were not capable of holding a conversation that kept her interest. There was a younger guy, she was surprised to find herself very intrigued since she rarely dated younger.

The app matched them and it seemed to advertise itself as legitimate with a rock solid algorithm, though Aerona had her own doubts. But a chance to be aboard a luxury cruise ship, that was too enticing and casinos always seemed to love having her around them.

Entering the casino, Aerona had her long brown hair over her shoulder and her sparkling red heels clicked on the wooden floors of the casino. She moved gracefully about the place, her keen eyes searching out for her date. She would be very surprised if he was later than she was, and she was already ten minutes late to the date.

Wandering over to him, Aerona gave a small, polite smile and stepped into his field of view, "Ah, you are definitely my match today. Aerona, pleasure to meet you." The Hapan/Kiffar extended her hand out and had a slight teasing smirk on her full lips.

Vulpesen took a deep breath as he stood at the edge of the gallery, his golden eyes searching the crowd around him. His fingers fiddled at the edge of his sleeve, toying with his cufflinks of his suit. He was a man who had faced and fought countless sith, roamed the netherworld, held diplomatic meetings with some of the galaxy's most powerful players, and had held the very heart of the force in his own two hands. But here, searching for a date with eyes accustomed to seeking out fugitives, he never felt so out of his element. He had never been the luckiest in the game of love, his previous relationships having both ended in quite spectacular failure. He was however, bless with two kids.. A pair of lights in his life, two amazing children who... he would likely kill as soon as he got back home.

"I need a drink," the Valde muttered to himself before moving to the bar and ordering him self glass of whiskey before resuming his search. The chill of the ice and the burn against the back of his throat re-centered him, bringing a calm back to his senses. On the bright side, he wouldn't have to go through the effort of turning this one away from the sith.

Navigating the wall of sound that separated the external area from the nightclub's entrance, Varis assumed an air of 'normality,' seeking to seamlessly blend in with the diverse crowd. He took a moment to discreetly observe the ebb and flow of patrons within the establishment before deciding to make his way to the bar.

With a subtle gesture to the bartender, Varis ordered a stiff drink, much-needed relief after the headache-inducing journey to the club. As he sipped the beverage, Varis casually leaned against the bar, returning to his pastime of people-watching. Before long, his attention was captivated by a particular patron.

Pushing away from the bar, Varis approached her with casual confidence, saying, "Pardon me, miss, but may I offer to buy you a drink?"

As the minutes passed, Korr found himself loosening his tie, underestimating the potent combination of nerves and the ambient heat of the cruise ship. Yet, there was no turning back. Korr hadn't been raised to quit or run away; instead, he was instilled with the value of facing challenges head-on.

Leaning forward slightly, he sought a better view of the casino's setup, his curiosity piqued about how he'd fare in such activities. However, his daydreaming was abruptly interrupted as he noticed someone approaching. Flustered by a mix of her appearance and the realization that he wasn't in the most presentable state, Korr quickly redid his tie before adorning his features with a gentle and friendly smile. Lightly taking her hand, he executed a respectful bow.

"Ah, I was worried I had boarded the wrong ship again. Korr Du Lac, and the pleasure is all mine, Miss Aerona."

She had somehow found herself moving with the swathe of sentience towards the edge of the dance floor where she was approached by yet another man. She glanced up and down and offered a congratulatory wink. He was certainly working with good material.

“Ah…nah,” she said, continuing to dance, and not thinking to give him much more attention.

A light strobed just right and brushed across his face. Serenity caught sight just briefly of the man’s features.

”Karkin’ Sithspit…”

She continued dancing, arms aloft and body moving with an almost serpentine grace.

”…you ain’t Varis Harken are ya?” She said in her typical unrefined and unfiltered manner. Her tone seemed disconnected from her presentation. If one expected a sultry tone, they were sadly mistaken. Instead, she spoke as one of the boys at your local pub.

“Gotta say…the picture on the app don’t do ya justice…you a fine piece a meat…”

Of all the dates she had been on since joining that dang new app a week ago, this was the first time her expectations had been exceeded.

Pausing momentarily, Varis shifted slightly, contemplating a return to the bar. However, his intention wavered as he overheard his name mentioned, prompting a sly smirk to play on his typically stoic features.

"The one and only. Serenity Qi, I presume?" The conclusion of his statement morphed into a question, reflecting Varis's tendency to excel with names rather than faces, a trait that, at times, proved to be both a boon and a bane.

A chuckle escaped his lips in response to her words. "Ah, apologies. My lifestyle doesn't always lend itself to capturing impressive photos. Nevertheless, I appreciate the compliment."

Varis adjusted his outfit with a smooth motion, flashing his sly yet somewhat friendly smirk once again. "I make an effort to maintain my appearance to certain standards when not in the field."

“Just call me, Sere,” she said, grabbing him by the shirt and pulling him onto the dance floor.

“Fancy lifestyle huh?” She said, as she danced around him, “what you do? Some big shot lawyer or somethin’?”

The volume of the music only seemed to have increased, and with it the closeness of her dancing - it was the only way to insure she could be heard.

”Not used to taking pictures…but you work out…so not a model…gods be thanked…”

Eden had already processed the statistics. The conclusions that to be drawn from the data were obvious. Dating apps were rarely, if ever, an efficient means of finding a partner. Or, partners, for that matter. In most cases, it was better to simply venture out and engage with people. Perhaps in that regard, Zinder would be different. After all, there were few things more engaging than a dating party on a resort which offered dancing at a nightclub, gambling, stargazing, and yet more activities as entertainment.

Out of those options, Eden had chosen to partake in the first—dancing. However, she first needed to find her assigned date. While the gynoid did not know too much about him yet (aside from what was on his profile), she knew that he was human, possessed brown hair and dark eyes, and that he enjoyed combat.

Eden’s inhumanly symmetrical features curled into a playful smile at the very idea of it.

Nevertheless, unless something went very wrong, Eden doubted that any form of combat would transpire aboard the cruiser. She wouldn’t have minded a “date” with her partner which involved fighting off a surprise pirate raid. Even so, for the moment, she was satisfied with dancing.

And yet, as she scanned her synthetic gaze across the crowd in search of her partner, Eden idly wondered if her date’s manner of dancing might reveal some clues as to how he fought.

You wanna feel bad? Join a dating app, be handsome, be funny, be... well, a charming outlaw. And then not get matched. Wanna feel more bad? Go on that same cruise, alone, convinced someone else will come along. Wanna feel even worse? See people all around, hooked at the arm, ready to fall in love, have babies, buy a house, go grocery shopping, and watch bad movies together.

Recipe for self hate, serves one.

The whole place stunk, anyways. Jedi and Imperial types. Jedi like Valery Noble Valery Noble , that woman who-

Who was standing ten feet away from him. He debated on putting on his helmet, diving for the holdout Disruptor in his jacket, and running for an escape. She probably wasn't too too happy to see him. They held up their agreement, and as far as he knew, there was some leeway with the Alliance after helping rescue the Sword of the Jedi from Hutt control.

Of course, that was before the Holocron business and the sneaky stunt he pulled right before they departed.

He stood, signature jacket, but a little more put together- with his pants with the Corellian stripe down the side. He looked at her, and knew that she knew he was there. So he wiggled his eyebrows, gave that handsome grin, and put both of his hands up, palms towards her. The scoundrel's way of saying they had nothing to hide, and were being honest.

Well.

Nej was being mostly honest.

He did pickpocket about a dozen people to make himself feel better before he got here.

The man approached her and introduced himself, Anja simultaneously smiled and felt her pheremone glands unconsciously opening up. "Hey, I'm Anja, yeah, drink sounds good, little chat then maybe aome dancing?" she raised an eyebrow to indicate the correct answer was yes. But he had made the right call, a drink to break the ice first and a chat in a place where the loud music didn't make conversation impossible.

She let him lead her to a table and they grabbed drink, a Csillan fireball cocktail for her and whatever he was drinking. They sat, with her observing his level of chivalry on display.

"So I gotta ask, that profile of yours, all real? I was reading it and I've gotta say, it crossed my mind that either you were chromed up or some shadowrunner having a laugh." she smiled with her playful, but still fairly genuine question.

"But you got your date, so nows the time if you want to fess up to any embellishments?" she hoped it was true, and her body language was of a woman who was receptive to a good date, but she couldn't help who she was, she wasn't a CorpSec director general for nothing. The pheremones she was secreting would also help to reduce the risk of perceived hostility.

A small, quiet but playful smirk etched on her full lips as she heard the man state that he feared he was on the wrong ship again. "Getting on the wrong ship often?" Her soft voice teased as she let her eyes scan over the guy and assess him, before she looked around the room and admired the casino that they were in. It seemed to be a high quality place and she had some free credits to burn.

"Shall we play a game or two and get to know one another?" Aerona asked, unsure where to start since she was never much of a gambler, usually too dedicated to her work as a private investigator to allow her to relax and gamble money.

Her gaze looked around, curious what would be fun to play on a date and not too distracting that they could talk while they play.
