The nerves gradually dissipated as Korr found himself growing more at ease in the situation. "You could say that. I have a terrible sense of direction that has landed me in some sticky situations," he admitted with a slight chuckle, trailing off before shifting his attention toward the Casino, where he perused the various games on offer.

"That sounds like a great idea. It also allows for getting a feel of the place. Do you have a suggestion for the game? This is new to me." While waiting, he observed several games that could be suitable, contemplating options like poker or blackjack, and perhaps even trying his luck at the roulette wheel.

The quest for true love... it remains elusive, a dream that seems to dance just beyond my grasp. Everywhere I look, couples are entwined in their own little worlds of happiness, leaving me to wonder if I'm destined to remain on the outskirts of this intimate dance.

My journey through love's labyrinth has been anything but straightforward. The first heart I encountered was shrouded in a fog of misunderstanding, unable to see me for who I truly am. Then came a deceiver, a serpent cloaked in charm, who ensnared me with false promises only to reveal their venomous nature. And the third, a soul of sweetness and light, whose path, I realized, was not meant to converge with mine. In letting them go, I chose the happiness of another, sacrificing my own.

In my search for connection, I've cast my net wide, hoping against hope to find that elusive spark. There was the one recommended by friends, pleasant enough but lacking the vibrancy that stirs the soul. And the newcomer, a guard with a charm that draws admirers like moths to a flame, yet his allure fades in the light of day, revealing a shallowness that fails to captivate.

Is it too much to yearn for someone who embodies kindness, excitement, and thoughtfulness? The solitude weighs heavily on me, a constant companion in my search for a love that seems as mythical as the creatures of old tales.

Doubt creeps in, whispering that perhaps true love is a poem in which my name will never be penned.

Tempo's fingertips lingered on the page, tracing the contours of dried ink that held the weight of his past musings. In the quiet of this moment, he allowed himself a sliver of hope. Could today mark the beginning of a new chapter? Perhaps this encounter would unfold into something... more profound, more meaningful than the fleeting connections that had dotted his landscape of longing. With a gentle sigh, he closed the journal, its pages a silent witness to his journey. Tucking it carefully into his purse.

Tempo adjusted the sheer fabric of his dress, ensuring it draped elegantly over his slender frame. The rhinestones sparkled under the casino's bright lights. His rosette colored eyes scanned the bustling crowd, searching for Jalen. The Zinder event was in full swing, with the sounds of slot machines and the murmur of excited conversations filling the air. It was a world away from the quiet desert nights on Tatooine.

Activity I: The Nightclub

It wasn't often Tibera got dolled up just to meet someone, but damnit it was starting to get old hopping from star to star all alone. So to that end she put on her best blazer, jeans, and a light amount of makeup along with a rented ship to dock with the Zinder owned star cruiser. One wondered how a dating app company could afford such decadence, must have been a lot of people paying for premium.

Once in the nightclub it was like searching in a stack of needles for another needle, people were everywhere! Some looked half drunk already, which didn't bode well for the rest of the night. Over the thumping music and flashing strobe lights Tibera caught sight of her mark Kalic Daws Kalic Daws . It was a relief to look at him in the flesh, never know what kind of tricks picture apps can pull these days. He wasn't just cute, but genuinely fine!

"Sorry to keep you waiting, there's way more people here than I thought. Glad I'm the only girl looking for a guy with a bandana." With the greeting out of the way, the brawny woman sat down beside Kalic. "One wine please, and I'll pick up the tab for whatever he drinks." Her voice wasn't grating necessarily, but it was a bit deeper and raspier than the average woman's. She just hoped that it wouldn't scare this guy off. There'd been more than one possible suitor that had been driven away from her for such reasons.

The Luxury Cruiser that was playing host to the first Zinder Dating event was quite fantastic. While Porro was confident that his profile would generate interest and most likely dates, he was a little surprised that the app had found him a “match” that was thought enough of to gain an invitation to the event itself. The app’s designers were seeking successful couplings he assumed and the carefree smuggler just wasn’t sure if settling down was for him.

When he looked at the profile of his match it seemed that Vaux was looking for something laid back and casual. Porro was certainly able to provide that. Maybe some short term excitement and a possible long term bond that over time could evolve into more as he became less the plucky support to Sorr Kortu Sorr Kortu and Brinna Dara Brinna Dara and was well on his way to being a captain of his own ship. He enjoyed the folks he’d met while being with the Purr’s crew and he wouldn’t look to distance himself from them. But being more of his own man with his own means to contribute to the group would likely lead to a new type of Porro.

As Porro made his way from his cabin to the nightclub, he looked over the profile of Vaux Gred again, to avoid his focus falling on the Casino. He wondered if there would be time for him to place a few bets while onboard, on first pass the casino look top notch. Porro managed to avoid going in, knowing that losing all his spare credits before the date would likely be a bad statement to make about himself, and a series of successes would mean he wouldn’t leave a table and the date would go by the wayside.

As Porro entered the nightclub, his shoulders started to move a bit to the rhythm of the music playing. It was not the typical Nar Shaddaa noise factory, which was a good sign for any daters. At least those open to a meaningful bond. Those Nar Shaddaa clubs were nothing but hook up factories. As he moved through the club Porro looked around at the other partorns. He wondered how many were daters, if there were passengers not involved with the event, and if there were going to be any surprise guests to make this thing really pop.

Finally Porro noticed a woman who looked like the picture of Vaux Gred. He smiled as he noted her attire. He was half expecting a flight suit, but was glad for something more date worthy. At the same time he was glad that she was not wearing some stuffy gown. Not that there would be anything wrong with that in this setting but, he would look quite strange in his usual garb next to a young lady dressed to the nines. ”Vaux?” he asked, though he knew it was her as he got close enough to address her. ”I’m Porro, it seems the organizers have matched us for a date. Can I get you a drink to start the night off?” He hoped it didn’t sound like they would require drinks to get through the evening. He was actually hoping for as few rounds as possible, but having one at the start would hopefully eliminate the need to break conversation for an order.

"I hate you both."

Xeno was practically fumbling over himself. He thought he had been preparing for a high end gig. As his bandmates sat him down in their transport and they began to make their way to the location, however, they informed him that this was something very different.

A date. He had been signed up for a blind date.

Mind you, Xeno was terrible at socializing. He notoriously was rather blunt and awkward, with a dreary attitude that he couldn't exactly tone down. It was, of course, a product of his past. To say the Sith left him rather unusual was a bit of an understatement. It was that same quirk that also, as frustrated as it made him, made it hard to argue against the actions of his friends. His name was already on the sign up sheet or whatever had been used. It was probably better just to get it over with, at the very least so he didn't ruin some poor girl's day more than just being around him by standing her up.

"You'll be fine, boss man," Luxar whirred, the shard seeming rather pleased with himself. "Just get out there, make a friend, socialize a little. You gotta get out of your bubble, dude."

"Alright, get out there," Klocto laughed.

The door of the transport opened, and the two other members of Sithspit ushered him out, proceeding to drive off. Xeno adjusted the collar of his suit, letting out a sigh as he tucked his hands into his pockets and walked in. He pretty quickly got some attention. Being a famous musician sort of did that, but at the very least they seemed to do little more than take pictures. The half-Nagai slouched, perhaps in a rare instance of embarrassment for him, beginning to make his way into the nightclub...

Casinos.

The last time Jalen had been on a date at a casion, he had been stood up. Turns out some people really like their dates being able to see them. He didn't wear anything overly intricate, just a suit and a bowtie that he had Knight Toth help him adjust before he left. He may not have had working eyes, but he didn't want to just throw all care to the wind. The medic stepped in, immediately realizing how impossible it was going to be for him to find his partner. The Zinder thing gave descriptions of what these people looked like, but that hardly helped given how he was, of course, very blind.

Short was all he could really work with. He could make out height by a person's aura, but that was kind of it when it came to identifying features. He could really only recognize people after meeting them. Unfortunately it seemed that he was going to have to let this Tempo find him.

And then there was the matter of what he would inevitably think when whatever outfit he chose couldn't be seen by Jalen at all. This was already feeling like it was going to be a disaster. Still, the lanky padawan sat himself down at a table in the hopes that things would sort themselves out. It was all he could really do, so there was no sense in overthinking it.

Well, overthinking it any more than he already was.

The idea of a dating app was a new one to the Gungan. Technology had never been his strongest suit, and yet he found himself on a luxury liner that, had he not been given a free trip, he probably could never afford such an expensive gift for himself. What was a gift to himself was the coat he had designed and made himself for this date. Many would consider it tacky, he Stomme simply did not care. He was here to look for new talent after all, and maybe a happy ending to all this for himself.
ZBDA1.png

The sound of slot machines filled the air, and Stomme looked around, spotting Valery Noble Valery Noble already. A familiar face, the gungan smiling as he approached. "Ah! Master Noblè! You see stressed, did you date not show? Also...aren't you...married?" He looked rather confused. The Master jedi was very publicly married, and yet...he remembered seeing her profile on the app.

Ko was panicking internally. He didn’t really have any expectation that he would find a match on that zinder app. The account he made wasn’t even serious. Also he didn’t even know who he had been matched with. Ko was also too embarrassed to admit that he’d set himself up for this so he didn’t even ask anyone to tell him who or what he’d even been paired with. This truly was a blind date for him. Ko wasn’t even sure how to dress and was worried because he knew that quite a few of his peers found his fashion sense… lacking.

Also the Kel Dor had never been on a cruise before. Being on such a large vessel that was meant for recreation was an unfamiliar experience to him. Unlike having been onboard large warships during the conflicts against the Mandalorians he partook in. Where the atmosphere was full of anxiety and dread.

Ko only knew that the scheduled meeting was at the stargazing galley. Somewhere that in all honesty probably wasn’t the best for him considering that he wouldn’t quite be able to see the stars himself. But if they wanted they could always go to a different part of the ship too. For his wardrobe Ko was wearing some brown pants and a simple white buttoned up shirt. Nothing extravagant. In his shirt pocket however he had a little surprise. A fun trick he had done before that he believed might be a nice little gift for his date today, or tonight, he wasn’t really sure what time it was. Not that being in space helped much either. However, he still felt like a bundle of nerves from all the anticipation as he waited for his mystery date.

Murder.

Perhaps all she could think about, before a familiar voice caught her attention. She turned to see Stomme Kleine Kikker Stomme Kleine Kikker of all people approaching and raised an eyebrow way up at his choice of clothing. Valery was a little underdressed, having chosen not to doll herself up for tonight's path of destruction, but he looked... interesting.

"I'm not stressed, but-" she blinked when he mentioned her husband and her eyes widened. "I'm not here on a date!" she exclaimed with passion and heat in her voice and eyes. "I'm here because someone I know made a fake profile, and I was hoping to catch him here." She grumbled a little and looked around to see if Elias had already shown up.

Only to see another familiar face.

Valery's eyes narrowed at Nej Tane Nej Tane , who raised his hands and gave her that cocky grin of his. She drew in a deep breath in response, then spoke without looking at the Gungan, "Please excuse me for a moment." Without waiting for a reply, she marched towards the smuggler and stopped right in front of him.

"You're not following me, are you? After that stunt you pulled..."

This had been a terrible idea. Vittiion sighed to herself as she sat at the bar counter rubbing the side of her temple. She thought it would be a nice way to be social. Try and get out there more, instead of spending time tinkering with her tools. Now that she was here though, and saw how much people had seemingly prepared themselves for their dates, Vee realised that this wasn't exactly her ideal place. She'd feel much more comfortable at some kind of sports event, or blaster tag event, instead of being sat in some black dress at a nightclub. Sure, first impressions mattered, but this impression wouldn't be who she was.

It didn't help that her date seemed to be late. Vitiion rubbed her hand down her face, debating whether or not to bail here and now. Of course, there seemed to be a few good-looking drinks in the club, but she wasn't much of a drinker herself. The Atoan ran her finger along the rim of her glass, letting it play a small tune that she could barely hear over the sounds of the club. Honestly, she could barely hear her thoughts as she pushed herself up to her feet, holding a finger out towards the bar. "I'll be back in a minute. Just need some time to think to myself."

And with that, she headed off towards the exit of the casino, weaving her way through the crowd towards the door and pushing her way out. Which is where she'd come across a familiar sight. Or well, normally familiar. Vitiion wasn't sure if she'd ever seen Xeno in a suit before. Either way, there was a slightly more visible improvement to her mood at the sight of her friend, as Vee waved over towards Xeno Xeno "Didn't expect to see you here. I know you're a whole...super cool music star, but I thought this kind of place was too bright for you. Where's Luxar and Klocto?" The Atoan wasn't exactly the best at putting two and two together, so she just assumed that Xeno was here for some kind of band gig.

"Didn't expect to see you here. I know you're a whole...super cool music star, but I thought this kind of place was too bright for you. Where's Luxar and Klocto?"

Xeno seemed to relax at the sight of his friend. A familiar face was a comforting sight.

"They aren't here," he answered awkwardly. "No gig, just me. This kinda thing isn't my scene, but I'm here for... I dunno, some thing, I guess..."

That was discriptive. He left out the part that was them ditching him here to force social interaction.

Rather quickly, however, the cogs in Xeno's brain began to turn. He looked at his friend's dress, then glanced around at the other attendees. She seemed quite nicely put together, yet nobody was in sight that seemed to be with her. The brain equations seemed to lead the half-Nagai's mind down a path of rationalization before he suddenly came to a conclusion he wasn't sure how to feel about. When a being with light grey skin blushed, it was rather easy to notice.

"You're... not here with anyone, are you?" Xeno asked.

He was beginning to suspect she was alone for a reason.

VVVDHjr.png

Well at least she was right about this seemingly not being Xeno's kind of place...but then why else was he here? She frowned, tilting her head to the side before noting Xeno's question, shaking her head in response to his question

"Nope. I signed up for some...blind dating thing. I thought it would help get me out a bit more. Be social and everything but...the guy doesn't seem to have shown up yet. Turns out I've probably been stood up or something. I was just headin' out to clear my head. The place is way too loud in there and all of the flashing lights...It's like whoa!"

With that Vitiion just threw her hands out as if making a great explosion before shaking her head afterwards breaking out into a small chuckle. It was nice to try and distract herself ever so slightly. It wasn't like she was upset at what she thought was her getting stood up. Far from it. She was just getting a slight headache from all of the lights and this was a good distraction...Though she was still curious as to why Xeno was even in this place.

"Will say though, it's a surprise to see you out in a place like this without those two. Last time I saw you was at the beach right? With her...Red. Yeah. That's what I'll call her." It wasn't because Vee had forgotten her name. No. No. Not at all. Though that's when the cogs started to turn in her head...even though they were turning in the wrong direction. "Oh! Are you here to spend time with her? I can go if I'm bothering you."

Xeno went deadpan when Vii mentioned she was here for a blind dating thing. That all but confirmed his suspicions about what was going on here. He was definately going to have words with Luxar and Klocto later. It seems that as he put the pieces together, however, Vii seemed to be lagging behind.

"Oh! Are you here to spend time with her? I can go if I'm bothering you."

"Huh? N-no, I forgot her name too." Xeno admitted. That was just some stranger who randomly introduced themselves. "I uh..."

The musician turned, pulling at the collar of his ornate shirt. He very much wanted to vanish into the floor, but after the last time he did that he had a feeling it would probably be a worse course of action. How did he even go about tackling this? Ultimately, as much as he was wanting to beat his head into the nearest wall over this entire thing, he figured he was going to have to say something. He took a breath, turning his head away.

"I... believe I may be the one meant to meet you," he muttered.

He was gonna die.

He’d let himself get talked into this. That wasn’t to absolve himself of responsibility or anything, no, Orson still filled out the damned form and paid the damned fee, but it was Hatch who’d had the idea. The boys had said they thought he needed to loosen up, and there was a chance they were right, but this wasn’t what he’d had in mind when he filled out the profile. Loud people, thrumming music, lots of drinking, Orson approximately one of those things.

At least the company would be interesting, if she showed.

Skirata, Orson didn’t play at being a learned man, he was a grunt and always would be, but he knew a Mando’a name when he saw it. He supposed she could’ve been part of some family that got out of it a hundred years ago, and would look him in the eyes and tell him he was an idiot for assuming otherwise, but he was willing to bet otherwise.

Was that willingness born of the fact the cruise had provided him with his own gambling scratch? Of course, but still.

Either way he’d still put in some effort to clean up, shaved his face, cut his hair, put on a suitable outfit of a nicer long sleeved shirt as black as the void, and a pair of olive drab pants. They didn’t even have pockets for ammunition, Hatch told him that was intentional. All that was left to wait, and so he did, drink in hand as he stood amidst the crowd of strangers.

Eden had already processed the statistics. The conclusions that to be drawn from the data were obvious. Dating apps were rarely, if ever, an efficient means of finding a partner. Or, partners, for that matter. In most cases, it was better to simply venture out and engage with people. Perhaps in that regard, Zinder would be different. After all, there were few things more engaging than a dating party on a resort which offered dancing at a nightclub, gambling, stargazing, and yet more activities as entertainment.

Out of those options, Eden had chosen to partake in the first—dancing. However, she first needed to find her assigned date. While the gynoid did not know too much about him yet (aside from what was on his profile), she knew that he was human, possessed brown hair and dark eyes, and that he enjoyed combat.

Eden’s inhumanly symmetrical features curled into a playful smile at the very idea of it.

Nevertheless, unless something went very wrong, Eden doubted that any form of combat would transpire aboard the cruiser. She wouldn’t have minded a “date” with her partner which involved fighting off a surprise pirate raid. Even so, for the moment, she was satisfied with dancing.

And yet, as she scanned her synthetic gaze across the crowd in search of her partner, Eden idly wondered if her date’s manner of dancing might reveal some clues as to how he fought.
In truth, this was Sylas’ first time in a nightclub. On a whim, he’d signed up for a dating app, primarily out of boredom. He’d liked the profiles that interested him, and that had led him to this event. He had done a bit of research about his partner, wanting to at least be prepared for the occasion. Apparently, she was interested in combat, a characteristic Sylas shared. He could hardly go public about his mastery with a lightsaber, but he was still somewhat experienced with other martial arts, along with the use of a blaster.

Sylas was used to dancing at formal events, but a nightclub was hardly the same as a noble family’s ball. He did his best to mimic the movements of those around him, swaying to the beat of the music. In a way, it was much like a duel, matching the rhythm of your opponent. After familiarizing himself with the general principles of the dance, Sylas began to add some of his own individuality, moving in a slightly slower, more elegant manner.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, Sylas spotted his partner. At least, the woman he saw matched the description he was looking for exactly. Gingerly, while not interrupting the flow of his dance, Sylas made his way towards her, smiling and speaking in an inquisitive voice. “Eden Io, I presume?”

A blind date, who would have thought that would make him the most nervous in years.

Out of curiosity, Silas decided to sign onto this dating site that paired him with like-minded individuals. He had to put some of the things he was looking for in a woman and hope the system picked for him correctly. Thankfully, it did just that. They had given him a lady who was a similar age and looked beautiful from the photos she had on her profile. She wasn't out of his league by any means, Silas was just nervous from the fact he had not done this dating stuff before.

Even so, the Jedi was going to make the most of the opportunity.

Dressing in a smart, dark attire Silas was sitting at the bar waiting for his date to arrive at the restaurant. Now and then he'd check his hair to see if it was still decent, as well as his clothing which he didn't want to be creased by the time she arrived. It was the effort that went a long way with people, he was just hoping she'd do the same for him.

"Whiskey on the rocks please, and a nice glass of wine for my lovely date for when she arrives"

Silas slid over a few chips with a nod and casually looked around, trying his best to keep his nerves grounded.

Vaux looked around, opening up the app for a quick doublecheck of Porro's profile. Seeking something fun and casual. She thought for a second as she looked somewhere else before hearing her name, turning to see Porro for the first time in the flesh. She knew the picture was there an all, but it was nice to know he was the real deal, and he wasn't harsh eyes either. The pilot would flash a smile, nodding as the man introduced himself, and offering her a drink. The smile became a bit of a smirk, and she'd nod.

"Well, you know how to get a date started." She said, her Concord Dawn accent clear as day. "I'd love a drink, though, thanks. And I hope we're able to enjoy tonight." She added. This was the first time she'd done something quite like this, so it was an honest thing from her. But if introduction were anything to go on the night would be fun.

When she stepped foot inside the luxury cruiser Fomys started to feel bad. Her brother, Ramys Marnarro Ramys Marnarro , had given her grief about signing up for Zinder. He had impressed upon her that there was so much more that needed her focus other than dating. Their home had been handed over to a new Empire. The tyrant who caused such strife seemed to be getting even more power and what was left of the rebellion was looking for a place to regroup.

But Fomys had been through too much and her superiors in the force had insisted that she take a vacation. That last part was concerning to Fomys, the force hardly ever allowed vacations now they were pushing for quite a few. Fomys needed a break so she didn’t complain and she wasn’t using this time to hunker down with the rebels she was only secretly a part of. A real break was needed and the Zinder event was just perfect.

The second thought she had on entering the cruiser was that she hadn’t packed anything near fancy enough to fit into her surroundings. She did have a line of credit that would allow her to purchase something should the need arise, but for the blind date portion of things, she wanted to be sure that she portrayed herself accurately. And fancy glittering gowns just weren't going to fit her persona. So when she arrived at the galley for the date it was in a casual pair of pants and a tank top. They were new and clean, and they were fit so that it was quite apparent that she was putting her womanly figure out there to be experienced, but at the same time it conveyed the laid back woman who could be considered by some to be a tomboy.

A quick look around had Fomys notice her date. Vulpesen stood out amongst the crowd and she made her way over to him as he was expressing his need for a drink to himself. Fomys was not so good at social interaction, but she was trained as an investigator so she did know how to read somethings about a person. Even in an unfamiliar species she was able to see the discomfort that Vulpesen displayed as she closed the distance. She hoped that the drink he ordered would help, but that might take time. Perhaps an introduction would help as well. ”Hello there,” Fomys said in a playful tone as she smiled during the final approach. ”I’m Fomys. Glad to meet you. That’s a nice suit you’ve got on there. Hope you don’t mind me being a little more casual, I wasn’t sure the rules and this is more me…”

Tempo's gaze landed on a figure with blonde hair among the crowd that matched the description he had been given. To confirm, he pulled out his comlink device, flicking through the details of their planned meet-up with a practiced ease. His pointed ears gave a subtle twitch as he sought to discern any distinct scents that might distinguish Jalen from the throng of the casino. Moving with the grace of a cat on the hunt, Tempo approached, his steps silent yet assured.

"Jalen, I presume? You look
very dashing. "
he inquired, his voice laced with a playful curiosity. Instead of opting for a conventional seat, Tempo chose to perch elegantly on the edge of the table, a confident dramatic flair. His fingers, tipped with blackened claws, tapped a gentle rhythm on the surface...

With a light-hearted chuckle, he teased, "You know, you don't have to wear a blindfold to a blind date, right?" The humor in his voice was clear, intended to ease any tension between them.

As he crossed one leg over the other, Tempo settled into a pose that was casual and calculated. A gloved hand rested on his knee, adding a touch of elegance to his already striking appearance. With a deliberate toss of his head, he allowed his lavender locks to cascade gracefully over his shoulder, a visual flourish trying to add to his allure. His back arched slightly, adding an invitational smile as he offered Jalen a look that was playful.

"Jalen, I presume? You look very dashing. "

The mood shifted very suddenly. The aura of a short statured individual was present now, one who very quickly perched themselves on the table and spoke in a flirtatious manner. Jalen did blush at the innitial complement, but the blindfold comment really made him more nervous than anything. From the way that their aura moved, Jalen was beginning to get the idea that this Tempo was putting in a lot of work to make his entrance more dramatic.

He sighed, tilting his head.

"Yeah, that's me..." he answered. "I-I'm sure you also look very dashing as well, but... uh..."

He lifted up the blindfold, revealing his scarred face that lay hidden underneath before sliding it back down.

"Sorry, that probably makes everything you were trying to do pretty awkward."
