Makai looked amused at the mention of being proactive practicing her name. He wasn't sure what difference it would have made during their engagement, but apparently to his wife it had been a big decision. Personally he was fine if she would have stayed Myra Elspeth Korden Arceneau - last name didn't matter to him but it did to her, so if made Ellie happy...

"Careful with that tongue. Part of the reason we ended up in this very position."

A small smirk and he ate another spoonful of his dessert cup. He pushed it over to her, realizing he hadn't offered any yet. Perhaps risotto and a parfait didn't mix but he was certain it wasn't going to stop her any.

"Phoebe?" Makai paused, mulling it over. "Phoebe Arceneau Dashiell....Not horrible, does it work for someone who is going to grow up to be an heiress..."

He was trying to picture it with the middle name he had in mind.

"Since we don't know your parents names, your mothers name... what if we honored your grandmother? Colette. Your Ma seemed to speak highly of her, she seemed to be a rather badass woman. First grandchild on both sides. Don't think I want anything Galan for a middle name...Dad has Rue named after him otherwise I would perhaps suggest Judith..."

Makai paused,clearly thinking.

"Phoebe Colette Arceneau Dashiell."

That tantalizing comment was quickly responded to with a distinctive lick of the back of her spoon as she finished up another mouthful of risotto.

Take that! Myra’s expression shot back at him with a knowing smirk, briefly looking rather satisfied with herself at her comeback. Although there was no stopping the way her grey eyes danced with wicked mirth.

All jokes aside, she mused on the addition of her adoptive grandmother’s name.

“Hmm…"Phoebe Colette Arceneau Dashiell….” Myra repeated, musing on it aloud to hear it again.

“Actually that flows quite well!”

"Careful. Otherwise I'm going to carry you upstairs and make you pay for teasing me "

He chuckled for a moment, taking his spoon and swiping more of the parfait between them now. Makai wondered if their little tit-for-tat would escalate or settle down. While he could tell they both were amused, it was early in the morning without much sleep between either one of them.

"I like it. What does she think? Any objections? Kicks of protest? Or already practicing her teenage silent treatment?"

While the name seemed settled for the moment, Makai knew that could change in the coming months.

"Phoebe Colette sounds good but if anything else catches our fancy in the meantime we can explore that too..."

"I'll take the raincheck -- but I'll take that as a win,"
Myra grinned back, finishing up the rest of her risotto as she gave a small chuckle.

As for what MP thought of, so far, no movement as Myra glanced down at her curving belly.

"Nothing yet. Give her a bit, I think she's sleeping," she added, smiling. She only just started to feel her move as she passed through her second trimester. The third wasn't too far off, and she was certainly starting to feel the weight of the baby.

"Yeah, I like it. Let's keep it in mind unless something else comes up and we end up liking it better," Myra replied, giving a soft sated exhale. She leaned back and gave her belly a comforting rub.

Grey eyes would eye the parfait, contemplating if she could steal a bite.

"Thank you for the meal, I really appreciate it." she smiled softly at him, gratitude now radiating from her face but also, blessing Makai with the satisfaction that his wife seemed to have more color on her face. Hopefully the nausea and the exhaustion would pass soon.

"So any other plans?"

"At least one of us is sleeping. Maybe two, if we count Persephone. Although with her being grounded, I'm sure she is testing her limits somehow."

It wasn't surprising they were seeing some teenage rebellion. A boy, an impending sister, and getting comfortable in the changes in her life were going to cause the teenager to make some questionable decisions. Being grounded on Joiol was probably torture for a teen more apt to urban areas and fashion. Small village life and agriculture didn't seem to be Persie's thing.

"You don't have to thank me. I would cook you anything, anytime. Just happy to see you actually want to eat something for a change."

Questionable how long it would last, but Makai would take any small wins, even if it was only for the short term.

"Plans like for today? Stay up probably...I can take a nap in the afternoon. Get some work done before my run...speaking of work." Makai paused, knowing it was going to be hard to explain without his set up and map. "Going to heavily invest on this moon that orbits the planet
Vero near Sith space. I want to make a massive complex there then use the hyperlane Dad is working on to loop back towards the Tingel Arm. This way the materials we take from Sith territory can loop with our existing facilities."

"Going to take awhile. Phoebe will no doubt be a toddler by then. Question is if we want to do something like Centrality and live there or stay here. I kind of want Phoebe to grow up here....she already seems to like it....yet as you mentioned, not talk for this early in the morning."

"Ha... how is she taking being grounded? Has she talked to you much about it?" After everything that happened, things were understandably emotional for the young teenager, but Makai and Myra agreed that they had to ensure that there were boundaries in place for her own safety and for her character. They didn't need her to go to the full swinging pendelum of chaos now.

"You and me both; glad that it is staying down," Myra agreed, this time taking her spare spoon and reaching over to grab a bit of his parfait for her own munching.

"How is that hyperlane going with your father? Mama also commissioned one that was supposed to connect the more far-off planets near the Tingal Arm Coalition...although the government may be a bit up in the air, at least the hyperspace lane will still be there."

As for his question.

I prefer to stay in an area that will be secure and not see too much change. We at least had the Farm with that."

"She's okay, taking it like any teenager grounded would. Maybe this will make her think twice about skipping out to go shopping with strange boys. Persie hasn't said much, still in that pouting phase, but in time she will see we are correct and not over reacting. I get it - she didn't have the best discipline in the past so being held accountable now.."

Persephone at least seemed to understand that she was being punished. Resigned to the fact before they had even found out. Small progress to know that even Persie knew her actions would have consequences for her. He considered them fairly lenient guardians so far, but even then limits had to be clearly set.

"Hyperlane should be going well. It connects near my project on Vero so this will dovetail nicely. It will provide expansion away from the galactic powers and a more loose governmental system. What about your Ma's? Nearly done? Dad has the Starchasers working on his."

Spoon was put down, letting Ellie finish his dessert. Instead he leaned against the counter, nodding along in agreement.

"Yes, I agree. Joiol is lucky to be nothing but small villages and massive farms. Then our house on Gallinore - the Hapan cluster is fairly stable. Here - Joiol - I think is where I'd like to see the kids raised. Lots of room to roam, detached from a lot of the galaxy's problems. A good place to land."

Myra gave a small shrug, stealing another spoonful of Makai's parfait now that he let her finish it off.

"I don't know. I remember being keen on doing some wild things for a boy at her age," Flying by herself and facing the fear of being out in public to chase Makai out to Chiss space had been one of them. Granted, to Myra at the time, it didn't seem as if Makai had been very grateful about that.

She gave a nod at hearing that the hyperlane was going well, and in regards to the one her mama financed, "Still being worked on. A lot of that Wild Space is still heavily untraveled. Have to ensure it is safe. Looks like it is just one guy doing it, so we will see how it goes."

A smile drew over her lips however, in hearing Makai was in agreement with her.

"Mmhmm... if this one rather have the salty sea air here, I don't mind seeing how things go. Hapes cluster at least is more than safe enough with the transitory mists making travel difficult if anyone would end up trying to attack the region." Some of those worlds still hadn't had any communication with the greater galaxy in decades.

Finishing up, she licked the spoon clean. Job well done since she managed to keep everything down.

"Mmm. Okay that was tasty. " her grey eyes flashed with some renewed impish sparks.

"Alright, we should probably head to bed. Are you still working on this tomorrow?" Now, one has to think about what will come next.

"Heard the Southern Systems Auctions will be coming round soon. Are you going or is your pa doing it instead?"

Makai rolled his eyes at her mention of 'wild things for a boy'. Of course he was that boy. He wanted to playfully retort that he hoped she got grounded. However, he knew she didn't. With her illness being how it was back then his wife had been parented a little differently. Makai was certain if he was in the same impossible situation, he would do the same.

Seeing her lick the spoon, a small smile formed on his face. Only his wife would be the one to continually torture him - not that he would have it any other way.

"You're a brat, Missus Dashiell."

Checking the intelichrono on his wrist, Makai wasn't so certain about drifting back off to sleep. Perhaps it was one of those cut your losses types of days. He knew he would have to get used to these odd hours too. Phoebe would naturally demand around the clock care and he intended to let Ellie sleep as much as possible.

"You can head to bed. I'll probably go to my office and stay up, get some work in before my run and the day starts. You'll notice I've been more focused on other things during the day while we are here. I'll crash around lunch maybe."

Although if it was to become their permanent base, he would have to figure out some type of day schedule. Right now it was still vacation mode.

"I'll be hosting the mystery auction. Unsure if Dad is doing anything. I'll probably place some bids, see whats for sale."

Myra gave a laugh. "I might be a brat, but I'm your brat. You married me, so now you are stuck!" She tossed back at him with a sassy quip and a flash of the tip of her pink tongue.

As he had made the meal she made to start clearing up their dishes, sliding off her seat and collecting the empty plates.

"Don't stay up too long," She warned him, concern igniting her grey eyes.

"You don't want to end up over working yourself. You need rest too." she told him, moving to set the dirty dishes in the sonic cleanser.

"Oh, you are running the Mystery Auction?" both brows rose.

"Wow... sorry, just thinking back to the times we were both wandering around the Bazaar and Expo by ourselves." well, with Myra, mainly staying in the VIP areas because she had still suffered from panic attacks at large crowds, but they still had plenty of fun people watching through the VIP one way viewports as they moved about below.

"Ooo anything good this time around?"

Quickly he moved to intercept her from putting the dishes into the sonic cleanser, giving a look of mock disapproval. They both didn't know how long she would be feeling well and taking care of the dishes was the last thing he wanted her to do. A shake of his head to further cement his disapproval, placing the spoons into the little basket.

"Funny to look back and think how we were just allowed to run around like two little idiots. Especially through the VIP areas. Food was always amazing, the company was even better. Can't wait for Phoebe to experience some of the things I...we...got to experience. She's going to be a great kid, I already know it."

Finishing loading the sonic washer, the feigned disappointed look crossed his features yet again.

"If I told you, it wouldn't be a mystery. I'm excited though - one more goal off the list."

Myra’s lips twisted in a mock pout when he took the dishes, even in the face of Makai’s feigned scowl.

“I’m pregnant, not an invalid!” She cried in protest, although considering how bad her pregnancy had been so far, okay maybe that defense didn’t work so well.

Her eyes perked at the news, “oh you’re taking Persie with you? She must be thrilled to see some of the fashion vendors then,” now if she’ll only stay out of trouble.

“Also I should get a pass at being able to get a peek!” She added, giving her belly a slight rub as she stretched.

"I'm not going to stand by while my pregnant wife loads the sonic washer in front of me."

Brows furrowed at the mention of taking Persephone. She was supposed to be grounded but it may be a good experience. Makai wasn't sure if he left her behind would she be pouting and underfoot the entire time. Ellie was supposed to be relaxing, not dealing with an incredibly sulky teenager. Maybe taking her would be beneficial.

"I had planned on going alone but I can take her. She might want to look around. I imagine after being grounded she will be happy to go anywhere, especially shopping."

Eyes rolled at her protest of mystery items.

"Okay, one of the items is from Dad - he's donating the money to Arkhun Medical and its research."

Myra rolled her eyes, but nonetheless was still amused. She gave a small yawn before blinking a bit as she felt the yummy risotto start to make her sleepy.

"Haha, just make sure she stays out of trouble." She added, giving a small chuckle.

However, once Makai mentioned that Judah put in an item and the funds would be donated to Arkuhn Medical, her expression softened.

"That's really kind of him," she told him quietly, rubbing her belly again.

"Hmm... perhaps we should see if we can have dinner with him. Maybe as a whole family?" Life day was just around the corner too.

"Family dinner?"

Makai paused, the wheels clearly turning in his head. It would be easy enough to do ; maybe a barbeque on the beach. Now that Ellie seemed to be feeling better, it would be a good chance to have everyone over before the baby was born. Yet what was giving him pause was the encompassed word of 'family'. It could mean a number of different scenarios.

"When you say family..."

He reached over gently squeezed the hand on her stomach, wondering what exactly she meant.

"... Do you mean like me, you, Persie, and Dad? Or are you talking the entire crew? My Mom, your Ma, Bale, Dad and us? How much chaos are you thinking?"

Myra leaned back in her chair, her fingers absently tracing her belly as she studied Makai's expression. He was pensive -- clearly turning some thought over in his head -- and it wasn't hard to guess why. The holidays had a way of stirring up complicated feelings, especially when it came to family.

Still, the idea was too tempting to ignore, and it would be a way for her to be able to be around everyone without too much stress on her body. If she felt tired, she could always excuse herself and go to bed.

"Why not everyone?" she ventured, her tone thoughtful but light. "We haven't had a proper dinner together in... well, forever. We used to do it all the time when my father was alive, remember?"

Her gaze softened as she considered the potential benefits. "Maybe it'll be good for everyone. A chance to sit down, eat, and just... connect. Unless," she added cautiously, "you think it'd be a bad idea?"

She wasn't entirely sure what was going on with Judah's private life lately, and as for her mama -- well, her mama always managed to behave when the situation called for it.

Besides, they needed to invite Makai's mama to more events to make her feel welcome, too.

There was no doubt he hated the holidays - Ellie knew it well. However, with Phoebe on the way and present by the next round of late season fetes, there would be no way to avoid them. He didn't want to pass off his dislike for something onto his daughter. Phoebe deserved to enjoy various fetes and holidays without any of the baggage he had around them.

So, he plastered on a smile. It wasn't something he could avoid anyway. Especially since many of those invited family members would be crossing paths soon enough on the compound to come see the newest addition. Perhaps a dinner and some festivities would allow everyone to relax enough to get to know one another. With the compound being massive, it allowed for their guests to stretch out and hide, also cutting out some potential tension.

Yet, it was still going to be an interesting event.

"No, I think its a good idea. We'll send out the invites tomorrow."
