SPECIAL FEATURES
- Absolute brick - The original A-A5 speeder truck was popular among civilians for its rough exterior and protection against the elements. The A-A7 was designed with extra layers of armor to become near-blaster-proof.
- Deflector shield - Necessary to protect the craft from the elements and small-arms fire.
- Mounted medium laser cannon - The roof is mounted with a swivel laser cannon to fend off attackers.
- Modifiable interior - The one thing AIL kept from the original A-A5 was the interior. With its cargo space, the A-A7 can be modified as a makeshift infirmary, repair bay, or mobile outpost. The A-A7 can also serve its main purpose as a cargo transport. Foldable benches can be removed if need be, but are also there in case the A-A7 is being used as a troop transport.
- In-cabin bunks - The A-A7's driver cabin has three foldable bunks for the drivers and gunner to use when they need rest.
- Internal thermostat - To ensure the comfort of everyone in the speeder, a thermostat is installed to manage the HVAC system to set it to the desired temperature depending on the climate.
- De-icing system - If the speeder freezes, a de-icing system is installed to thaw it.
- Internal communications system - Installed in the cabin for the driver and gunner to receive communication transmissions.
- In the face of adversity - The biggest thing AIL wanted to retain from the original A-A5 was its harsh environmental resistance. While not invincible to hazardous material and elements, the A-A7 has enough protection to allow the driver to take the speeder out of a danger zone to safety.
- They have a bigger gun - Any anti-tank projectiles could take out the A-A7 in one hit.
When learning about the A-A5, engineers at AIL figured it would serve as a decent military craft. Reading up on the speeder's history, the A-A5 was renowned for its carrying capacity, mobility, and versatility in the early years of the Galactic Civil War. The AIL was able to acquire an A-A5 from outer-rim speeder dealers and begin working on their improvements. They added additional layers of armor and a deflector shield to give the speeder more protection while on the front lines. The A-A7 would be designated support to transport supplies between allied forces as quickly and as safely as possible. However military advisers saw potential in the speeder to serve different support roles. The cargo space was large enough to serve other roles such as a mobile outpost which allowed for quick communication between units to notify of any enemy movements or incursions. Hospital beds and medical equipment could be placed in the truck to create a mobile infirmary/ambulance to treat troops and in some cases evac them.
