A Common Job Interview

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Just because his tech and everythung was old, it didn't mean that it was obsolete. Kay's husband was also not a huge fan of the latest tech and gadgets. She wasn't either, but she was forced to have a better grasp of it due to all of the work that she had to do.

She smiled as [member="Leonhardt Wilhelm"] approved of his room. That was a good thing. So far he had not pointed out any flaws that he could find with the Palace and the security, though she was certain that he'd find some in time. Most systems had bugs that needed to be sorted through.

Kay laughed a little as he took the commlink and made his promise to her. "I think that it's me that has to assure you that I won't be using it too much. I'm not going to make you my 'errand boy', so don't worry about that. You'll be a good deterant from those that would try to hurt me, and I thank you for that. I'll also have to thank Rex for sending you to me."

Old tech was made mostly to be reliable, to be able to withstand the worst conditions and to come out unharmed or easily fixed, while new tech is more fancy more things are being done, but when it breaks it could cost you everything.

The room that [member="Lady Kay"] had given him was nice and roomy, it wasn't that bad, much better than the apartment he had been renting before he got that job. The room was much bigger and a lot cleaner which was nice.

He gave a light chuckle to Kay as he stood there. "Well I just thought I'd be polite and tell you that I wouldn't be using it to much, or if I do that I'll do my best to give you some heads up time. Ah yes, Rex is a good man and I hope he enjoys his time away, he needed to get some time alone, he's been under a lot stress due to his past."

She smiled. "Well I'll not abuse it either. I know first hand of what it's like to not get a moment's peace."

At the mention of Rex and his stress, Kay nodded a little. She never really pried into his past, just as she hasn't done to [member="Leonhardt Wilhelm"] . It just wasn't any of her business. Only if that past came to Commenor, would it be made her business. Kay tended to hire a lot of underdogs that needed good chances in life. It was common for them to have troubles in the past. She wasn't any different.

"Shall I leave you to rest? You can start first thing in the morning. I'm a morning person, so I don't tend to sleep in."

"Ah but peace is something that escapes me in my old age."

He said this with a slight smile as he shook his head, a few memories of his past coming into his head before shaking it away. In the few hours that he'd been at the palace [member="Lady Kay"] had given him a job and a good place to sleep, that was more than enough for him to ask for, he'd been living in a hole in the ground for far to long.

"If you wish, I know you are a busy woman so I don't want to hold you up any."

Kay held out her hand for [member="Leonhardt Wilhelm"] to shake, giving him a smile. "Thanks again. I think this'll work out to be a great partnership." And she meant it, of course. Sometimes you could just really tell. How long Leonhardt was going to stay, she didn't know. That was the only part of this that wasn't certain.

After a bow of her head, she took her leave. As always, she had work to do.
