A Common Lady and a Shark

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
[member="Ghorua the Shark"] accepted her hug. He didn't push her away, nor did he seem to be repulsed by her touch. That was a relief. Kay just let his arms envelop her, feeling comforted and safe within them. She felt the same way when Veiere embraced her, always just wanted to nestle into him. Maybe it was just some inherent desire to be loved. Regardless, she just let herself be immersed in it.

After the hug finally broke, she looked up to the Herglic, wiping away her own tears, watching as he put her old lightsaber into his satchel and pushing it into her. Kay wrapped her arms around the bag. She used to always carry a satchel, that is until she finally let go of her late husband's memory, releasing her of her oath to him.

She picked up her newer saber from the ground and put that in the satchel too. What would she do with it? The lightsaber was created with Darkness, something that she didn't want to touch anymore. Maybe she'd destroy it.

Ghorua's expression changed, lighter, knowing some secret that she didn't. At least he was in agreement with making new memories. For the first time since she told her story, she spoke up. "You want me to meet someone? Who? Have I met them before? Or is this someone new?" Did Ghorua get a girlfriend? Or get married? She couldn't hazard a guess.

Ghorua chuckled again when Kay's curiosity piqued. Maybe she couldn't remember him, or his daughter. Maybe she never would. Maybe he'd never get the old Kay back.

Whatever happened, Ghorua decided this new Kay was just as good.

"Yeah, you have. Introduced us, actually." Ghorua decided to leave it at that, let the Queen's imagination run wild. Emanating slyness, Ghorua enjoyed the feeling of relief that came with banishing anger.

He still felt it somewhere within himself, simmering, buried under the happiness that came with hope. He hadn't forgotten how she made him feel, how she'd hurt him.

But she was travelling down the path of redemption, and that was what mattered.

With a bit of embarrassment, Ghorua suddenly remembered they weren't alone. The Herglic looked over the Lady's head, towards her security guard. The whole situation must have seemed odd to an outsider. His face returned to more of a neutral position, as he remembered the tense atmosphere that had just dissipated, and the high of happiness follow suite.

"You'd better head back, Mrs. Arenais." Ghorua, with some difficulty, stood to his full height, his armor still shining in the sunlight. He looked down to the Lady, pondering. How would he explain it all to Minna? "I've got a bit of thinking to do."

Ghorua placed his hand gently on Kay's shoulder, a simple show of kindness and understanding. "Visit soon. We have a lot to talk about."

Kay smirked a little as [member="Ghorua the Shark"] didn't give her much to go on. She liked the lighter mood in him. It was far better than the version of him that wanted to kill her.

She followed his gaze to her guard. He had followed them during their fight but followed her instructions to the letter. He didn't engage. Kay nodded her head to him, then looked to Ghorua again as he spoke up. She placed her hand on top of his, thankful for a lot of things. He gave her hope, he opened her eyes to a part of her that she was made to forget. Her selflessness. "I will. Thank you. For everything. Hopefully I'll have good news when next we meet. You are welcome to Commenor at any time, both you and your mystery person."

Kay let go of his hand and bowed her head deeply. She respected him greatly, her arms holding the satchel close to her. Then she turned and headed back to the Free Lady, looking back just once in order to give him a wave, before disappearing up the ramp with her guard in behind her.

After she got into her quarters, she prepared herself some tea and focused on [member="Veiere Arenais"] and the connection that they shared. She sent him a message through their telepathic connection, enhanced by their wedding rings to amplify the distance of their reach. ~My dear. I've done it. I've gotten my lightsaber from Ghorua on Bakura....I'm coming home~ She didn't relay her fears of possibly tainting the crystal. She wanted him to be there when she touched it. For now, it will remain in the satchel.
