A Cup of Tea Between Friends

Kay-Larr

[member="Darth Erebos"] . Kay had heard that he had come back from...well...wherever he went off to. The important thing was that he was back. A while ago, when she was a Senator, she had hoped to help him secure contracts for his business. The problem was that he was a Sith and some people just couldn't see past that.

Kay had sent off word for him to drop by the Presidential Palace ( http://starwarsrp.net/topic/96946-chasin-city-commenors-greatest/#entry1408297) in Chasin City on Commenor. Whether or not he was still in business, she wasn't sure. Regardless, they had some catching up to do. And what better way to do so than over some cups of Sapir tea? While she was waiting for his arrival, she prepared the kettle in her office, the old fashioned way over a fire. The smoke seemed to add more density to the flavour that just could not be copied when cooked over a stove.

The steps echoed in the hallway as he walked, adjusting his clothing as a fussy retainer walked alongside him and tired to adjust it all back while also trying to tie his long white hair in some sort of traditional Shawken royal style where it was swept back and tied into a very small knot at the nape of his neck. "I'm sorry my lord but when Shawken was under sith control your usual attire was acceptable but now that you are the ruler of a non sith shawken you must begin to dress in that fashion." The retainer spoke while T'zanith grumbled a little, noticing the two heavily armored royal guards that were following were beginning to chuckle slightly. "She is a friend and I'm sure she won't mind what I wear, besides I'm a former sith lord do I need these guards?" He asked the assistant that was walking next to him, parallel to the fussy retainer. "We can't have you go off again like last time." She simply retorted which earned another grumble from T'zanith. "Things weren't this complicated when I was on the dark council..." He muttered as he came to the door he was being showed towards for his meeting with [member="Lady Kay"].

"Wait outside, there aren't any other exits and I'd like some privacy." He said as he opened the door while the guards moved to station themselves on either side of the door. He leaned a little against the door and let out a tired and loud exhale. "What have I gotten myself into.." He muttered right as the smell of the sapir tea hit his nose and he felt some of his stress melt away. "I see you still have great taste in teas." He said with a smile as he walked deeper into the room with a smile.

Kay was just bringing the kettle off of the fire, a folded cloth protecting her hand from the coiled metal handle, when [member="Darth Erebos"] entered her office. She smiled and bowed her head, having no need to hide her force signature while he was around. Afterall, he taught her a few things during their first encounter.

"Indeed I do. You came right on time as the water just boiled." She brought the kettle over to the coffee table and began to pour the steaming water into the already prepared cups. "How are you these days? Lots of changes in the Galaxy. I haven't come to the complete conclusion as to whether or not they are good or bad."

He chuckled as he approached the table and sat down at one of the comfortable chairs around it. "Tell me about it. I'm still trying to catch up with it after my isolation on Serenno to... recover from my wounds and meditate." He said as he then placed his hand on hers with a smile. "It is good to see you again, and that you've weathered the storms so brilliantly. President of a planet now hm?" He then said starting sincere but ending in a slight jest as his smile indicated. The aroma of the Sapir leaves filled him with the calmness he so sought after these days, due to his taste for the leaves the tea had become quite popular on Shawken as well.

Kay had sat herself down in the chair beside his, crossing her feet at the ankles and tucking them in underneath her. She picked up her tea and had a sip, her own little vice, her own little addiction. There could be worse things of course.

She tilted her head to the side a bit. Not over [member="Darth Erebos"] placing his hand on hers, but of his mention of recovering from wounds, meditating and then seeing her. Was he able to fix his eyes? Or was he still blind? Kay couldn't tell, so she had to ask. "Are you able to see yet? Without the Force, I mean? And how did you get hurt, if you don't mind me asking?"

She'd divulge on herself later. For now she was chastising herself a bit for being so far out of the loop when it came to the well being of her friends.

He shook his head. "The medical project to give me eyes is still in the works, due to my heritage so I still see with the force." He said as he moved the hand he had placed on hers to a cup and took a relaxing sip. "It seemed the Mandalorians didn't like me looking into my heritage as a sith on one of their worlds, a world they don't go to mind you it just sits there in their territory. They but a bounty on me and I was attacked after I came back to Shawken from coruscant when it was attacked. I was badly hurt and brought before the new head of the clan, not the one that put the bounty on me mind you and she humiliated me and aggravated my wounds by firing her blaster at my legs." He paused there, one hand absentmindedly rubbing his thigh right above his knee.

"It took me four months with both bacta and the force to help me heal fully but it left my body weak and I had to train my body up again." He said right as he placed the cup once more up to his lips and took a slow sip. He moved his face so he seemed to be looking at [member="Lady Kay"] now and smiled a little. "I'm all right now though, what of you?"

Kay frowned a little as she heard the tale, shaking her head to show her dismay for certain aspects of it. She placed her hand on his forearm. "The Mandalorians were wrong to do that to you. They are not the good guys that they pretend to be. They attacked this sector of space for no reason other than the other worlds nearby allowed for the Republic to support them. But that was enough for them to target and slaughter younglings and infants, followed by their parents. These people had done nothing to them, never even spoke ill of them and yet they were targeted for collective punishment. They have fallen so far down a dark path that they make some Sith seem like saviours."

She sighed a little and then sipped her tea. "I'm doing well enough. I was kind of pushed into running for President. This was the world that I represented in the Senate, so I was already known. They call me the People's President because I will listen and try to help everyone. As such, those wanting to change or build good relations with others are welcome to do so here. I have Embassies, warehouses and businesses of all types here. One can never have too many allies in case of danger..." For the moment she left out her recent connection to the Mandalorians.

He smiled and took a sip as he listened to [member="Lady Kay"], putting the cup down and crossing his legs over and interlocking his fingers as he rested his hands in his lap. "Well if you'd allow it, I'd like to put in a request with you for a shawken embassy and even if possible maybe even a ZTI outlet?" He asked as he thought of ways to try and help her out if she needed it. But then again his own planet needed it's allies as well for what he had in store for it.

Her face brightened at the request. Any excuse to have more visits over tea with [member="Darth Erebos"] was a good thing. She had a high respect for him. "Both would be wonderful. Your requests are granted. I'll have the paperwork started right away and we could go over the land size that you'd require for both. Unless you'd like to use some of our pre-existing buildings, then that works too. And might I add that Commenor respectfully requests an Embassy on Shawken?" Commenor had so few of their own Embassies on other planets. But it would help her Foreign Minister [member="Riven Black"] and his assistants.

He smiled to her. "Of course a trade of embassies is always a good for the relations between governments. I've actually taken the lessons I learned while I was a member of the one sith to heart and I'm not going to repeat their mistakes. While I want to expand Shawkens borders to allow my people to prosper, I will rely on diplomacy and peaceful ways first and foremost but I'll still keep a strong military for protecting the borders of Shawken and it's people." He said with a softer smile before taking a good sip of the relaxing tea. "I might even request your visit to Shawken when the time allows us, of course I'd ask you to bring some of your tea as well."

Kay smiled at his words. Diplomacy without sacrificing defence. That's what Commenor was doing as well. It was like [member="Darth Erebos"] and her ruled twin planets.

"Our military is getting rebuilt as well, for that exact same purpose. And I would love the opportunity to visit Shawken. I will come with a full supply of Sapir tea leaves for you, enough to last you many months. I just hope that you don't get sick of it." She gave him a wink.

He chuckled as he heard her say that. "Of course but as my palace is currently undergoing renovations I'm going to hold off on inviting you until it is completed." He said then with a light smile and chuckle at the end.

Kay grinned as [member="Darth Erebos"] chuckled. "That's quite alright. I'm quite patient. In the meantime, would you like a tour of the city and it's outskirts so that you may pick out the locations or buildings that you could use?" Of course she would have to keep his buildings away from those governments that he has quarrels with, such as the Clan Raxis Embassy.

He smiled and took finished the tea in his cup. "I would indeed though I'm sorry to say I only have the time to pick out an embassy location at this time. Shawken's throne duties keep me quite busy and I have little time to be away from the planet most of the time." He said with a light inhale as he then ran his thumb across his lips to wipe away any residue of the sapir tea left behind.

Kay finished her tea as well and set her cup down. She nodded, wondering how much busier her time would be if she was one of the Elders that ruled Commenor, rather than just being a President. People just didn't understand as to why the Elders were hardly seen. There was of course more to the planet than just Chasin City.

She got to her feet and held her arm out for [member="Darth Erebos"] to take. "I understand. You are welcome to bring a delegation in your stead if ever you are unable to make the trip yourself. So...shall we take a tour?"

He smiled as he reached out to [member="Lady Kay"]'s hand and stood up. "By all means show me around." He said with a soft, small smile as he placed the cup down next to Kay's own cup.

Kay locked her arm with his as she led [member="Darth Erebos"] out of her office, down the hall and out to an awaiting transport. One of her guards, Einon had followed in behind them. She just ignored him however as she was supposed to do. It wasn't as though she was being rude, for the man didn't talk much anyways. At least not to her.

More than likely Erebos' guards followed them as well.

The door to the transport was open and Kay slipped inside first. "My guard will be staying behind. But yours can come with us if you wish. There's enough room and we won't be going too far."

T'zanith looked to his guards and gave a firm gesture for them to stay behind. "Given that I'm not used to guards myself, and with my past for that matter, I doubt I'll need them. After all I'm here to visit a friend." He said as he sat into the transport and sat opposite [member="Lady Kay"] in the transport. "Tell me though how often are the embassies used here on Comenor?" He asked as he looked out the window as the transport took off.

"Some of them are under construction still, while a few have opened. I hope to have a celebration soon, to commemorate all of them. But each will have representatives to act as liaisons. If you don't have anyone to spare, then I can find someone. It's no trouble."

The transport soon stopped at a unique building within the city. It seemed to be a bit of a hangout and attracted many due to the way it bounced the light from the sun. It seemed to draw people to it, which wasn't always a bad thing.

"This building is now empty. It used to house one of the music halls, but they moved to a bigger location. What do you think?"

[member="Darth Erebos"]

As he saw the building he almost seemed at awe of the building. "Wow, well this certainly is a quite the grand building, are you sure you want to convert it into an embassy?" He asked he as he looked from the building and towards her.
