A Cup of Tea Between Friends

Kay smiled while she nodded. Though she wasn't quite sure if maybe [member="Darth Erebos"] thought that it was too big for Shawken. "Yes. As I said, the building is empty now. It's not quite the right kind of building to make apartments out of. But for an Embassy, you have plenty of room, and a docking platform on the roof. What do you think?"

Maybe he wanted to see a different building. She was prepared for either scenario.

 

[Shaddi]

He thought for a moment. "Well I'd like to see some other buildings before I make a decision [member="Lady Kay"], but you could have this building host diplomatic gatherings along with showcases of music and art from different cultures?" He then said as he felt making such a building into an embassy seemed a little like a waste in the terms of the arts.

 

[Kay-Larr]

Kay nodded and instructed the driver to head over to the next location. "I suppose that we could. Maybe even use it as a cheaper alternative to the University's theatre and music houses."

There was no logic to which buildings she was showing him, other than she wanted them to look unique and beautiful. A few minutes later they were at the second building that she could show him. "How about this one?"

He stared at the building and had to smile to himself. "Well it certainly is unique and quite beautiful." He said as he leaned forwards and gathered the force into his palm only to let it out towards the building, coating it in the energy and illuminating the building in the force. "It's perfect." He said with a wide smile to [member="Lady Kay"].

 

[Kay-Larr]

Kay smirked a little as [member="Darth Erebos"] seemed to have read her mind. And then she smiled as he approved of it. She watched him as he caused the building to glow, raising a brow slightly. It seemed as though the Shawken King had claimed it for his own. And it was a wonderful choice. "Great. Would you care to look inside? I know that your time here is limited..."

 

[Shaddi]

He looked towards her and nodded with enthusiasm. "Of course I'd like to see it my friend." He said to [member="Lady Kay"] as he moved slightly and opened the door for her with the force. "Ladies first." He then said in a polite but almost teasing manner. He was more playful or loose in his manner and movements now rather than the more rigid and calculated movements he had during his time as a dark council member.

Kay laughed a little as [member="Darth Erebos"] teased her. She got out of the transport and led the way to the building. She swiped the pass key to unlock the door and then handed it to him. Then she hooked her arm in his and led him inside.

"There's plenty of space here, and even more upstairs. This is one of those optical illusion buildings where it looks smaller on the outside than it really is." She led him past the windows and over to one of the lifts, taking him up to the next level.

"There's a lot that you can do with this space, don't you think?" Kay smiled and felt more like a realtor than a friend or President at the moment.

"Oh there will be a lot done to a space like this." He said with a wide smile as he looked towards [member="Lady Kay"] and his smile turned a little into one of a joking. "Maybe if this presidential thing doesn't pan out you can become a realtor." He said with a teasing smirk.

 

[Kay-Larr]

Kay smirked right back as it seemed as though [member="Darth Erebos"] was reading her mind, or perhaps her feelings. "Oh I'm sure that I'll find something to do. Maybe I'll settle down and build myself a tea hut, retire, that sort of thing." In a way that sounded nice. And she could picture just who she would settle down with. But after her own exiles, politics always found a way back into her life. It was the kind of life that the Force had planned for her.

He smirked a little. "Well I know a small little corner on Shawkens capital that might just be perfect for you then." He said as he turned a little on his heel and focused his sight to see all the rooms and corridors in the building, exploring it in a much quicker succession than it normally would take.

She raised a brow. "Oh? Well you'll have to show me some time when I visit Shawken. I'd love for a tour." That is when they were both settled into their new roles. Even though it's been many months since she was elected, she was still adjusting and working on keeping her Ministers busy without micromanaging them.

He chuckled lightly, figuring [member="Lady Kay"] was just as busy as he was though he was a little later to the party than she was. Having returned to Shawken only two weeks earlier and had been confined to meeting and conference rooms for almost a week after he had returned. Having used the premise of a diplomatic mission to Commenor as just a premise to get away from the palace for a little while. "Well I'll be sure to give you quite the tour."

 

[Kay-Larr]

"That'll be lovely. We'll have to work something out once you are all settled in. I imagine that you'll be having an Ambassador staying here? Perhaps some guards or soldiers as well? All that is fine. Just let me know if you need added security or not." Some Embassies didn't require any extras as they tended to bring a plethora of security. But others couldn't spare the personnel from their homeland.

"I'll try to make sure that we will not require more than we can provide ourselves. I might even dispatch a pair of Royal guards to add an air of prosperity." He said with a smile that showed he was toying with the idea.

Oh how spiffy, she thought. "I don't think that you'll need many as I don't believe that there'd be anything to threaten you or your people here. But....one can never be too careful. I have my own troubles that I hope will remain personal and not hurt the public in any way." The last thing that she needed was to have the Embassies attacked.

He chuckled a little. "Well they would be mostly for show of good faith as well as to have something like an honor guard." He said as he then walked around a little before he looked towards [member="Lady Kay"] and a curious look came upon his face. "There is something bothering you isn't there?"

 

[Kay-Larr]

Kay nodded about the honour guard. If [member="Darth Erebos"] already had them here, then it would mean that he didn't need to travel with too many people.

She smirked a little as he asked if she had something bothering her. Of course she had hinted at such a thing and didn't hide her Force signature as she never did while among her friends, so it made her a lot easier to read. "Yes. It's the Hutt Cartel...They wanted me to work for them, and to allow them to use my name to open opportunities for them. I refused. So now, they plan on tarnishing my name. I don't know how, but...they will certainly try."

 

[Shaddi]

He frowned a little. "Those slugs still causing trouble are they." He said out loud with a slight hint of disgust at the thought of the hutts. "If you need help I'm here for you. After all it's what friends do." He said with a smirk to [member="Lady Kay"] as he placed his hand reassuringly at her shoulder.

 

[Kay-Larr]

Kay smiled and placed her hand on top of his. "Thank you. I appreciate it. For now all that we can do is keep an eye out and an ear open. So far their threat is just words. But if it turns into action, I will surely let you know. But I will not take up all of your time, of course. Your people will need you too." [member="Darth Erebos"] was pressed for time while adjusting to his new role and she knew full well what that was like.

He smiled before he looked at one of the royal guard entering the room they were in, having most likely followed him there. "It seems I must depart now, but I shall take some time to come back again to perhaps get a plot of land to put a branch of ZTI here in Commenor." He said with a slight sly smile before he began to make his way towards the Royal guard who gave him a deferential bow and then another towards [member="Lady Kay"].
