Wayward Padawan

THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
The temple came down, or at least the entrance did, and with it the lord of this graveyard could lord over his filth ridden hall for the rest of his days. Kadan let a a breath of relief, his mind finally relaxing, as the ordeal had come to an end. They had managed to pull through, no worse for wear, all at the cost of a few fingers. It could have been so much worse. He took in the scent of fresh air, but his mind was not entirely at ease. A thought dwelled heavy on his mind, and he wished to seek an answer to it yet. This lord held so much power, yet squandered it all, lording over a trivial claim, so weakened, so crippled with his own desire that he couldn't do a thing in the end. His own thirst for power undid him. If only that power was out towards a noble cause, used to protect, not bludgeon others into submission. There was a thought. That item, a holocron he had thought, if he could access one perhaps he could find the answer himself. Kadan stopped that line of thought, perhaps he was tempting fate a tad to much with that line of thought. He had best hold off, when his strength was greater, when his path felt certain. He would not become like that...thing they had just buried. He wouldn't prove his parents right.
Aayla laughed to herself, dropping into the grass, seemingly unburdened by the struggle they had underwent together. He had a new friend it seemed, or at least someone who could understand where he came from. He would need that in the coming months he felt, a great many things needed to be made right. Slowly, he sat beside her, cross legged in the grass, his injured hand laid across his lap. He had to agree with her, this had been an adventure. He loosed the knot for his hair, letting his black locks loose, the wind catching it and blowing it about in the breeze. "It wasn't a training mission, not exactly, but I am glad you came along." He spoke, his gaze looking to his broken fingers, wondering how long it would take to mend this. It would be difficult to explain this whole encounter to others, in fact they'd probably be told off it it came to light. Perhaps it could be a secret, another one, between the two of them. He glanced to her, glad to see the plight hadn't tarnished her cheer too heavily. He prefered seeing her like this. Much better than the standoffish woman who had irked him early. "Perhaps we need only keep these events between ourselves. Need we face hours of lectures." He grinned, before slowly reclining onto the grass, his eyes closing as he exhaled.
