Vera's smile widened as Mahsa agreed to the festival, her excitement bubbling over. She leaned closer, her hands clasped together as she practically bounced in place on the bed. "Really? You'll come with me? This is going to be so much fun!" she exclaimed, her voice bright and filled with enthusiasm. "The lights, the food, the music… it's going to be amazing. We'll make sure to see everything, and you have to try the sweet pastries they always serve. They're incredible."

Mostly because Dad would help make them.

Her vibrant energy faltered slightly when Mahsa mentioned her recent mission with her dad, but Vera quickly latched onto the new topic, her curiosity shining through. "Wait, you went on a mission with my dad?" she asked, her multicolored eyes lighting up with surprise and interest. She shifted on the bed to face Mahsa more directly, her smile softening into something more thoughtful.

"What was that like?" Vera's tone was warm but clearly eager. "I can't imagine him as a squad leader because he's, well, my Dad. Was he super serious, or did he have one of his 'dad moments' during the mission?" She wasn't going to explain what that meant, but she was clearly quite fond of those moments.

Her grin turned a bit mischievous as she added, "And I'm not asking just to tease him later, I promise." Well, maybe a little.

"Of course!" Vera’s excitement was almost palpable as the brunette bounced on the bedding, earning a quiet chuckle from Mahsa. "You didn’t r-really think I’d say no… right?"

Merry yellows and bright citrine hues weaved through strands of snow white as the Kazelrrian listened to Vera talk about the festivities. From the lighting, the music, and of course the food too! She listened attentively, happy to see her friend chatting so animatedly about something visibly dear to Vera, even as a sense of giddiness grew inside her chest.

She couldn’t wait to see it all.

"Wait, you went on a mission with my dad?" Eventually the talk of festivals morphed into some of Mahsa’s latest adventures, those multicolored eyes lighting up like stars as Vera focused on it next. "What was that like?"

"Super serious." She confirmed Vera’s suspicions, a soft giggle escaping as the brunette promised to not use what was said today as ammunition against her dad… probably. "I think Zaiya and I were more nervous about being on a mission with the Shield of the Jedi than we were about him flying us into the Orbital Station."

While the Kazelrrian had become a somewhat common fixture in the Noble household her interactions here were mostly with Vera, Valery, and the kiddos. She admired the relationship Vera’s parents had with one another, and it was plain for anyone to see how much Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble cared for his family…

"N-not gonna lie…. I was so w-worried about disappointing your dad." The hands resting on her lap began to fiddle with the hem of her sleeves as streaks of coral joined the earlier yellows. "He was also super cool t-too."

Vera's multicolored eyes sparkled as Mahsa recounted her experience on the mission, and she couldn't help but let out a giggle at the mention of her dad being "super serious." The idea of her typically warm and easygoing father switching into full-on Jedi Master mode was both amusing and a little intimidating.

"Super serious, huh?" Vera teased, her grin widening. "That definitely sounds like him when he's in Jedi mode. But don't worry, I promise he's not as scary as he looks when he's all serious and stoic." She leaned in a little closer, her tone dropping conspiratorially. "I bet deep down, he was really impressed by you and Zaiya. He just has a funny way of showing it sometimes. he's very protective."

Kind of like Mom.

Her smile brightened again as she leaned back, the sparkle returning to her eyes. "And I knew you'd think he was cool! He's always been my hero. Though I'm still totally going to tell him you were worried about disappointing him. In the nicest way, of course," she added with a playful wink.

Vera was practically bouncing again, her excitement bubbling over as she imagined how fun it must have been, "Maybe next time, the two of us can go on a mission with him! Or with Mom."

"Super serious, huh?" A nervous smile played on her lips as she nodded. She knew Vera was just teasing her and, when the brunette’s tone dropped as she moved closer, Mahsa naturally leaned forwards to catch her words.

Kahlil’s protectiveness wasn’t something that had surprised Mahsa as much, perhaps because most of the Jedi she’d come to know shared that trait among them. Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania and Ran Serys Ran Serys had been equally protective of both padawans throughout the mission as well.

"Y-You think so…?" No, what had honestly surprised Mahsa and sent a fresh wave of citrine hues rippling through her hair was the possibility that the Shield might’ve been impressed by their action—or rather, her actions—that day.

After all, she knew how bright and skilled Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti was—and she was proud of her friend’s talent when it came to tech and gadgets… but she couldn’t help second guess her own abilities as a result.

A faint blush of embarrassment crossed her cheeks as Vera mentioned she’d be telling her dad, though the smile on her lips remained as she nodded in agreement to her friend’s earlier statement. "Mhmm, I get why the call him the Shield of the Jedi now."

She couldn’t help the soft chuckle as the brunette almost bounced on her bed, Vera’s excitement lessening some of the anxiousness Mahsa felt at the thought of missions.

"Yeah, that’d be nice." Most of the ones the Kazelrrian had been a part of were an… experience, to put it lightly, but the thought of having Vera and Kahlil, or even Valery, with her did ease some of those worries. "Hopefully it’s a chill one next time around."
